Physical Description		Milton is a slightly daft individual as his style changes with his mood; his hair is brown and while well kept he does push the regulations at the length. His eyes are the stunning part of his anatomy from what most women have said. He looks to be of average stature yet he is well defined under the layers of clothing to have the physique of a runner or swimmer. He does appear slender and maybe even a little lanky but is sure of footing and of keen balance in his strides. Off duty he is often in loose fitting and long sleeved shirts with neatly kept pants and boots. He always seems to have a flair for his attire that matches his mood He is a bit on the upper casual side and is often with a knowing grin.

General Overview		Rutherford is a bit of a whimsical type personality to he surface observation, but upon closer look he has a keen mind and is often bored with his surroundings, he constantly experiments with things or 'tricks' as he calls them trying to perfect an art he studies. He uses his magic tricks to ease tensions but if warranted the facade falls away and he can become totally focused and obsessed if he feels the need. Some say he was born a Capricorn with 2 personalities upon occasion. It is his gift of Emphatic Heritage from a Grandmother who was full Betazoid he feels ‘Gut’ reactions while doing his healing practice. Supresses the Southern Gentle upbring by his Father. He is a very good doctor in both knowledge and his 'Bedside manner, his approach is to 'lighten' the situation and then attempt to do what he needs to complete. He took an unusual turn to study Xeno Medical branch as a hobby/ obsession. He brings his habit of 'Parlor Tricks and magic' with him to entertain and distract. He is good with the younger patients and can be serious about his adult ones. Though he believes heavily in 'magic' and the type beyond parlor tricks; he equates laughter and love among the 'Magical realm, and powerful in ways most do not know. Social to the point of being a ham when entertaining can also be quite attentive to anyone he takes a fancy to at the time. He has a habit of 'Fidgeting’ with things on a constant basis. Prefers to be called RJ by Most as his names are 'unusual' and often mispronounced.

Personal History

Rutherford (RJ) was the youngest of his siblings by 5 years his sister and 7 by his brother, His childhood seemed to be normal until he became enamored with the fantasy child's stories of wizards breathing dragons and such. Most of this Came from a Paternal Grand Mother who loved Old earth Tales as she was a Full Betazoid. He decided to be a magician early on while growing up learned the art hoping to be a great Wizard when he grew up.

His sister had a breathing disorder that became more pronounced when puberty came to her; Rutherford noticed how the Doctors seemed to do 'Magic' to heal her so while his parents said a Magician could not really make a place in the modern world, a Doctor had many opportunities.

Rutherford did well in school and graduated a year early so he stared to study medicine; the fact he could learn medicine and see the universe brought him into the Academy.

Some razzing about his belief in 'Magic' but a few unexplained 'tricks' did help others to follow in razzing him. It was then me met Felicia; she was more of an actress settling to be a Yeoman or something. She fell for his magic and became the weekend 'assistant' every Magician needed to have fun together.

After the whirlwind affair the two were separated as she became a nurse and went into space before him. Following close behind he herd rumors that she had found the love of her life and was engaged. Hurt by it Rutherford let it drop and went to his first assignment.

His Cadet Cruise was on the USS Nightingale; a First Response Vessel / Hospital Ship that was going about on call for Medical type Emergencies. When a Mining Colony had an outbreak of wounded the Nightingale was summoned to help with the wounded. Upon arrival Rutherford and the other Cadets found that most of the wounds were from Accidents and the people who came out were out of sorts. It was determined that a new Gas from deep in subsurface pocket infected the Miners and in a panic the machines had malfunctioned causing the injuries. It was Rutherford that surmised that the Gas was not causing the dazed and unusual behavior but had a Gut Feeling it was not making them dazed but something else. He analyzed the biochemistry of the brain and found the Primal Brain having the most synapses. The Primal Brain of the miners did not have the knowledge to run the machines and therfore malfunctioned and injured the Crew on shifts . He was given high marks and promoted to Medical Technician.

USS Keplar; a small survey ship more geared to medical Rutherford studied hard the Xeno Medical journals. There was a natural Disaster on a Colony of Humanoids near the boarder, a ship crashed into a c ty when it fell from orbit suddenly. The people were more Catian in their anatomy; Rutherford took to t e wounded with great progress. Being among the races he might encounter in Star Fleet Rutherford w s more versed in the Feline types and was greatly effective in his away mission of aid. He had entertained the younger patients with little 'magic tricks' to help them relax while he treated them; s owing how the equipment did 'magic' like telling him what was hurt in their little bodies and such. His efforts got a promotion for his next command

The USS New Haven; a strictly science ship, had gone out into unknown space to explore. As Lead of Beta Shift Medical, Rutherford had been requested for his knowledge of alien races and his Xeno research skills. The ship was attacked by Pirates, the sick Bay located in the center of the ship was among the last places to be attacked. They searched and found no one there, luck was the Pirates did not carry tricorders. Using the 'oldest of Magic illusions, Rutherford had replicated small bits of thin material to act as 'False bottoms’ and backing of closets to hide the Medical Personnel. The Pirates presumed they had run elsewhere while not finding the staff. After feeling it was safe Rutherford armed themselves with tranquilizer guns and freed some of the crew; including OPS personnel, who then made a counter attack by Flooding the ship with the Sleep Gas and retook the ship. He was promoted and sent to his next Assignment

Now he had made a name for himself on board the USS Finland; a ship of the line and patrolling the boarders of Cardassia and the Federation. While the Cardassians were not aggressive several attempted incursions into Cardassian Space did crop up and the Deputy Chief of Medical Milton, was tasked with the running of Triage during battles. His bedside manner and knowledge did earn him a promotion as he gained such rapid experience while the Finland had basically ' gone to war’ with Pirates and incursions. Rutherford was The Emergency Sick Bay during the Campaign to rid the Sector of the Pirates. The Chief Medical Officer was severely wounded during operations and Rutherford had to assume Charge of the Medical Operations until the Pirates were finally stopped and the Finland limped back to Star Base for repairs and Crew Rotation.

The Chief Medical Officer Slot opened on the USS Resolution and with his promotion he was transferred to the ship.
