That's a Wrap.... No?

Mission:
Evacuation
Location: Starbase Brig & Administrative Office
Timeline: After reaching Starbase with Evacuees
The marines had already gone on to their next mission. Alisa stayed behind on the starbase with a few of them that had been under investigation for some time. She had just handed them over to the JAG officer that met her in the secure brig holding area, and was signing the paperwork. It was weird that she was able to use her proper rank now instead of her assumed NCO rank that she had for over the last year of this investigation.
After finishing off the last of her information for the officer, she grabbed her things that she had set down on the desk and stood back up to leave the Brig. She didn't make it that far when she was stopped by a couple of marines.
"Debrief time?" she asked.
Both of them were quiet, and that was expected. One nodded and they then went together towards the area where they had some offices. One of them had been sequestered for them and inside the slightly larger office, she saw her Commanding Marine Intelligence Officer on the screen talking to someone she only had known by reputation and not in person.
She was at full attention and ready to debrief to figure out where she was moving on next.
=/\="Ready, Major?" =/\= her CO asked.
With a slight nod of her head, she handed over the PADDs to the officers in the room. She quickly went through the high level of her investigation, what led her to that specific contingent, and where the investigation appeared to need to go next. Unfortunately for her, the investigation didn't just end here, and would need to continue, even if they were with looming days of conflict ahead of them.
"Any questions?" she asked after they had discussed and talked about the investigation and her findings that allowed her to wrap her assignment up. As there were none, she then asked, "with your permission, Sir, I'd like to continue this investigation on Prexas IV. That is where it looks like the next piece to this puzzle is."
=/\="Denied. A change in circumstances have forced us to go another direction for now. Instead of disembarking here from the Resolution, we've decided that we would like you to continue aboard as Marine Intelligence and liaison with the onboard intelligence department. A small specialized strike task force will be assigned to you under your command. We've been impressed with your work so far and believe with the rising conflict that not only will we be able to bolster the Resolution security, we'll be able to have a vested interest in the ongoing issues and be able to respond as such with your task force. Are there any questions?"=/\=
"No, Sir. I look forward to this new chapter." While she was a bit disappointed, the Major knew that this was a way of life for investigations: they get shelved, or handed over to another department. Her part in it was done. It did pique her interest that there was going to be a small team underneath her. She hadn't had one of those in awhile so that was going to be a bit of an adjustment.
Her commanding officer simply nodded as he replied, =/\="Good. I look forward to your first report. Good work, Major. Braxinta out."=/\=
Alisa looked over to the others in the small room with her. "Anything else you need from me?" They shook their heads, one of the officers handed her a PADD of her task for assignees, and Alisa took that as her cue to leave.
Well that mission was a well wrapped present and even though she wanted to keep going on, now it was to this. It led to some interesting times. Maybe this meant that she would be able to have more than a dead drop relationship with her husband.
