Calling out in transit

Mission:
Starship Side Quest
Location: Medical Bay - USS Eldrich
The medical bay was properly lit and was teaming with... two people. Two people? It really was a skeleton crew. Tale smiled at the nurses that Diane was able to get here on short notice. She realized her rbf was in full force at the moment and didn't want it to taint her working relationship with these people. The heavy ass black medical bag dug into her shoulder, so she picked the middle bed to make hers and started unpacking her things into it's alcoves nearby. Tale's head was pounding like a goth rave and it wasn't nearly as fun.
"Doctor Gilohesh, are you alright?" the nurse with the white headband asked her. The name badge said 'Loveask' and Tale did everything in her power to not snort laugh at the name.
"I have a tremendously bad headache, there's not much I can do about it right now," Tale said shoving the last of her things away. She tapped on her implant expecting it to start working, but alas that would be asking the moon to be the sun.
"I might have something," Loveask smiled brightly and bobbed over to a small console table on the other side of the room. She came back with a vile of the dreaded thing that every chronically ill person knows on sight.
"Essential oil?"
"It's peppermint!"
"Thank you," Tale took it with a smile; remembered that she pours tea to those who are having mental health issues to help them and this poor girl is just trying to help her with her psuedo science. She dotted the peppermint on her temples, behind her ears and rolled some on her pulse points. It burned a little, but smelled nice. Loveask looked thrilled to bits. Some rescue mission.
"I can't believe she took it Lovie," the Andorian nurse said incredulous. The badge read Okoniss Th'shothith. It was kind of them to have badges. They're expecting the worst case scenario to happen with Sky and Soran. That's unfortunate, but realistic. The Andorian's head tilted, "I could give you pressure treatment Doctor?"
"I appreciate the offer, but really, I can wait until it passes. We have to prep the bay for patients." Tale started programming her tricorder. It hadn't been used for anything outside of evaluations in years, she needed it to be at peak efficiency.
"What are you expecting?" Loveask said.
"Well, I would imagine from when I went to gather tea leaves on the planet, they were abducted by some not very nice people."
"Anyone who abducts a pregnant woman is a monster," Okoniss stated coldly.
Loveask nodded and started to look panicked. "Should we prepare an incubator? Just in case?"
"That seems so bleak, but I think we should have all contingencies covered. We should have them prepped near a bed just in case we have an unexpected delivery on our hands or am I being overly cautious at this junction?" Tale looked grim. "It might be an over abundance of caution on my end."
Loveask moved one of the beds back into the wall and moved two of the incubators to replace it. She placed a small table with an assortment of instruments on it. Whatever they might need was there. Tale's neck began to relax ever so slightly at this preparation. "Thank you Miss Loveask," she said as she pulled up Sky's medical records and skimming.
"What do you know about Angosians Doctor Gilohesh?" Okoniss asked; his antennae swiveling.
"They're a hearty species. They look like humans, but their insides differ slightly," Tale remembered from what she learned at school. "I've only been around two before Commander Wagnor. They were very violent when coming out of sedation. That's my biggest worry. We should probably put tethers on the bed we use for the Commander. He's not going to like it, but if he's hurt, he's going to be confused coming out of sedation and come out swinging like the rest of his race."
"On it!" Loveask had already clicked the extra tethers in place. There were the standard issue ones on the medical bay beds. Then there were the ones you had to go to the Security office for. Tale was thankful that she didn't have to go do that.
"The last thing I'll need is a secured line to the Resolution for them," Tale said.
The nurses looked puzzled. It wasn't generally procedure to have communications in the medical bay.
"His girlfriend and her husband will need proof of life," Tale answered their faces. "Starfleet protocol be damned."
Tale hated that all she could smell was peppermint in this moment, because she sounded pretty fucking cool.
