First Officers personal log:
Well I made it through some officers this week, from the Chief science, the Chief Medical Officer, the Chief Ops...I think they will be excellent members of the team, my summaries are as follows.
Lt Vanessa Jackson the new chief science officer, in the brief time i spent talking with her from the office to her labs, she seems strong suited for her position. She is young but she brings fresh eyes. Sometimes I think fresh eyes are exactly those that are needed for this.
Lt Rutherford Milton, or Doc RJ as he has asked to be refered to as. I will admit, he has a quirky bedside manner, bringing my wife to amazement with his magic tricks. Too many times we see Drs grow old and stale in their line of work but with this one... I don't know I think he will stay that way, if I can, I may want to steal him when I leave for the bismark in 18 months.
Commander Kane, what can I say about her. From her file, from everything that she has on file, starfleet has nothing that said she is a capable officer. They worry about her indecisiveness. I can understand where they come from. Undecisiveness is not something that an XO should have, let alone being a CO.
But what I seen today, she has drive... she has passion... while starfleet seemed to have her pegged as unqualified, her reports regarding the refit, her abilities to direct hundreds of workers to complete this task shows me otherwise. I may just be an XO myself. But while being groomed to be a CO by Captain Benoit. He told me certain traits to look for. By this one conversation with Commander kane, she shows almost all of those desireable traits for an XO. When we are given a mission in the next few days, or weeks, I will be following her closely. If my suspicions are correct, and she does possess what I think she does possess. I may just steal her for my new XO onboard the Bismark.
