Things were bad, I've been captured along with a comrade. I've been injected with something… I can feel it going through my nervous system… I've lost feeling in my extremities… I'm shackled and strapped to a hard cold metallic surface with a hood over my face. There is blood in my mouth and nose. I had to focus on my breathing… I can think of several enemies back home who would like to get their hands on me… Why do they want Sky?... I listened to the conversation happening around… I retain as much information about my captors as I can… The cloth on my face has a familiar odor… That phrase 'the adults are talking'... It was Mangath… He was one of my former 'Physicians' from my Angosian Military training…
I can't move, my body is too heavy.. I'm losing focus… with the last of my strength I focused on Sky…

I open my eyes… Everything is black… Not dark black… I seem to be floating… I have no sense of direction… I can see flashes of memories… A cold sterile room with blinding lights and figures looking down on me from behind glass…
Though the room was frigidly cold I was dripping sweat and found myself shivering when the lights went out… darkness… There were others around me… They too seem to be shivering…
"What the fuck!" One of them shouted.
I can hear a voice over a crackling speaker.

I felt her gently put my head back to the mattress, "We don't have much time, that woman needs you."
"Gods I don't know how we're going to survive us" I whispered.
"Like that never stopped you before Ren," She leaned in, I could feel her lip my ear. "Remember what you always said? You don't choose if or when you die."
"Only how we live." I said finishing the quote.
I felt her shift her weight off of me and laid down next to me.
"I'm sorry. I couldn't save you, Thay." I choked out.
"You did what you could Ren." She looked into my eyes. "You did your best then, you'll do your best now."
My vision began to blur…
“Stay with me Ren, don’t you dare leave me on my own!”
I could hear Sky say… There was fear in her voice.
"Now get your head out of your ass and help that woman Renny!" Was the last thing I heard…
I'm back on that cold metallic surface. I can feel the shackles on my hands and feet. I still can't move, but I'm here and I'll survive as long as I can and get Sky back alive or I'll die trying!
