Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Wagnor's Quarters
Timeline: A few hours before "asking for help"
Soran Wagnor stood in his quarters, he began unpacking his belongings. He heard the door chime. It startled him he wasn't expecting any visitors. Moved into the corner of the room out of habit, The rational part of him knew how unlikely being attacked on board a star ship was but...
"Come, the door is open." He said.
"Hi Ren." Tony stood in the dooropening with a huge grin on her face.
Soran smiled, he haven't been called by his old nickname in a while.
"Hello Tony, it's good to see you."
"I had no idea until an hour ago that it was you coming on board. It is so good to see you." She came closer and then stood a little awkward. They were friends had been for years but before that he had been one of her patients.
Soran hugged her, "so your the first officer of this vessel. Good for you."
When he took the initiative Tony hugged him back. "Thanks Ren. And you chief security. We have come a long way, both of us." She took a step back to have a good look at him. He had always been a handsome devil, even as a cadet. "How are you?"
He paused before answering, "I'm alright. Would you like something to drink?"
Move to the replicator and got himself a ginger tea.
"Yes please. Tea is fine for me as well but make it green. Gosh I still can't believe how long it's been since we saw each other."
Soran moved his to face before sitting down, "How are you liking command?"
"It's a learning process." Tony adimitted. "Some days I feel completely out of my depth. I was a counsellor for so long, as you know."
He nodded, "I found parts of command challenging as well. "
"How long have you been a department head, Ren?"
Officially I was the assistant head of the Lister's security, My commander was wounded pretty badly in a scribbage at the Klingons. So I took her place for about six months."
"So this is the first offical one, how does that feel." She grinned. "Sorry, just tell me if I behave like a therapist. That time is long gone between us."
"It's alright, I like command. I wish it hadn't been thrusted on me." He shrugged. " I guess managed to impress brass."
"Yeah I guess that is how it went with me as well. But I did not impress my first captain." Tony tried to keep the pain off her face. But Ren was a friend, not just a subordinate.
"What happened?" Soran asked with a mix of curiosity and concern.
"My last name happened." Tony said. "And my captain thought I only got to were I was because of my parents and grandfather. So instead of teaching me he ran me into the ground."
"I wouldn't blame that on your name, sounds like your Captain was a prick." Soran said. "The brass is correcting the situation with your current assignment."
"Yes Xavier is a great teacher." She could not tell him there were some other problems because Xavier had been her patient as well in the past. "But enough about me. How have you been?" When last she had seen him he had been doing well.
"Things have been difficult since the war with the Klingons." He didn't look at her. "I'm coping."
Tony knew she shouldn't. He was not a patient anymore, but she could not help herself. "You know that is one of your tell's don't you? When you don't look at me."
"Your not my trepapist Tony," He made eye contact. "I've had a few nightmares, but I'm okay."
"We have a very good therapist onboard though. If you ever need to talk more. She's a friend of mine."
"I have Pych Eval in the morning," he said. "How's your family?"
She decided to leave it at that. "They are all fine."
"That's good, remember that mate of mine Henry from the Academy? I guess he's engaged now." he chuckled. "Where has the time gone?"
"Indeed." Tony had to laugh as well. "Dad remembers you fondly. And you know he is not an easy man to please."
"That's good to hear," he nodded.
"And you? Any special persons in your life right now?" He was handsome so she hoped he had found someone, although a tiny part of her didn't like that idea.
"No luck in the department, I'm afraid." He sighed.
"Join the club." Tony said. "Therapists seem to scare people off and now being XO I don't think I will ever find someone. Making friends is hard enough."
"It's good the have a friend," He smiled.
"Yes. You have no idea how happy I am to see you. You are one of the few friends I have."
