Mission: The Lost Brother
Location: Various

Soran stood outside the Medbay, the shift will be changing about now. Kiara would be getting off. Things hadn't gone the way either of them had planned the other night, so he needed to have a conversation with her.

Leaving Sickbay Kiara was surprised to see Soran outside waiting for her, their walk around the Arboretum had been nice but when it came to becoming more, things had gone down hill rapidly. Now here she was face to face with him again. “Hello Soran” she offered a brief smile.

"Hello Kiara, I'm sorry about last night and I'm hoping we could talk and get a little closure." Soran said.

Kiara nodded. “I was more than a little negative last night, I think closure would be good.”

Soran nodded and began walking down the corridor with her. "It's complicated but, you're right. I'm hung up a woman I lost a lost time ago I didn't realise till last night and I don't know what to do about Tony. I'm sorry I brought you into my mess."

Kiara nodded. “I was pretty quick off the mark, I haven’t dated in years. I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable last night.”

"You're not responsible for the mess inside my head," He said. "I didn't mean to lead on."

“I don’t blame you” Kia offered a small smile. “If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have had the night of my life. Admittedly it was one made from a tipsy suggestion.”

"Good for you," Soran smiled.

Kiara grinned. “I guess we both need to let loose once in a while, try it sometime Soran it’s pretty liberating.”

"You are an extraordinary woman, if we'd met a couple years ago things would have gone differently."" He leaned forward and kissed her on the cheek. "I'll keep your advice in mind, I wish you nothing but the best."

Kiara smiled. “If we’d have met a couple of years ago I probably would have avoided you like the plague! I was...recovering from a very difficult time in my life.” She absentmindedly rubbed her scar on her neck.

"Some things just aren't meant to be I suppose." Soran said, "they say time heals all wounds. We have to learn to deal with the scars, I'm still working though mine."

Kiara nodded. “That I understand.” She offered a warmer smile. “I...killed a man, he gave me no choice. He was guilty of murdering several of my crew mates, he...tortured me and tried to force himself on me. I did it in self defence.”

"I'm proud of what you have overcome, I was a POW for a short time during the war. I'd rather not say how I got away, I still have nightmares."

Kia nodded. “You’re not the only one.” She offered an understanding smile. “If you ever need a friendly ear you know where to find me.”

"My door is open to you as well," Soran nodded. "Our comrades are well trained, but few of them have seen real violence."

Kiara nodded. “Thank you, I appreciate that. Can I ask a favour? I’d like to learn self defence, up until now I haven’t been able to face it but I feel ready now. Would you be able to give me some lessons?”

"Of course," he nodded. "I would be honored."

“Thank you” Kiara smiled. “just let me know where and when.”

"I'm usually in the gym at 2000hrs." He smiled.

“Then I’ll see you there one night.” Kiara grinned.
