Mission: Traitor amongst us?
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After aftermath

Kiara was wrapping up her shift in Sickbay, she was busy making sure that everything was tidy and she’d left at least one of the most used items out for those on the next shift. There was nothing more annoying than reaching for something that wasn’t there.

Kay was still finding things on the ship and looking around. And there were so many people she had not met yet. She was on a discovery mission now to meet other people in medical and smiled at Kiara. "Hiya." She said.

“Hi there” Kiara smiled warmly. “Can I help you?”

"I hope I am not in the way. I've just been assigned to the ship and I am exploring. First lieutenant Kayleigh London." She introduced herself.

“It’s nice to meet you Kayleigh” Kiara smiled. “I’m Kiara Rahl. If I’m not mistaken you’re the new Counsellor aren’t you? News travels fast around here!”

"yup, assistant chief and I am a marine. And what do you do?"

“My official job title is Medical Officer and Nurse.” Kiara smiled as she motioned Kayleigh towards the Nurses Office. “I’m qualified to go off ship to aid wounded if needed.”

"That's great." Kay said. "You get to see some action. I hate that part of being a shrink. But as I am also a combat marine I can sometimes talk myself into boarding parties." she grinned.

Kiara smiled. “That’s always handy. I take it you prefer the marine side to the stay in office and be a therapist side? Can’t say I blame you!”

"Oh hell yes. I was punished." Kay pulled a face. "Until a few months ago I was stationed on a starbase as a combat marine and I used to spend most of my time off brawling and drinking. My CO thought a stint as counsellor would do me good."

Kiara nodded. “Ahh so they’re aiming to tame your wild side!” She grinned.

"Yup. My parents swear they knew nothing about it. That is one of the reasons I became a marine. I want to make it on my own."

“I can understand that, being independent without having to live up to parents expectations is easier.” Kiara offered an understanding smile. “I had a rough time of things a while back, I wanted to get back to my duties to prove myself that I still had what it took to follow my chosen career.”

"Good for you. Oh and I hope my dad and my brother are not making your life hard. My dad is a horrible patient and Tas is an awful flirt."

Kiara grinned. “Tas has been keeping entertained with his flirting! As for your father I’ve only popped in when he’s been asleep so I haven’t actually spoken to him yet. Don’t worry they’re both well taken care of here.”

"I don't doub it. But it is a worry. I have seen both their charts and it is not making me happy." She admitted.

Kiara nodded. “Lieutenant Veran has been checking in on Tas, but with the refugee situation she’s been kept busy busy. She’s supposed to be on reduced duties so your being here is well timed.”

"I am hoping to help out as much as I can in counselling. I just can't work with my own family of course."

“Of course” Kiara nodded. “So have you had a chance to get settled in yet?”

"Not really. It is all so hectic now. With the colonists. With what is going down on earth. I haven't even had time to talk to Tony. I mean commander Stoffels."

“Then I suggest you take some time and do just that” Kiara smiled warmly. “Commander Stoffels could do with a friend, and I’m guessing you already know her.”

"We grew up together. But Tony is probably busy right now. I don't want to get in her way."

Kiara shook her head. “Right now she needs all the help she can get, especially with recent events. I’m sure she’d appreciate your aid.”

"I had planned to look her up tonight." Kay said. "It may be awkward her being so much senior to me."

“Would you like some company?” Kiara smiled warmly. “I would like to check in on Tony anyway.”

"Yes that will give me a chance to get to know you better and feel less nervous on barging in on Tony."

Kiara nodded. “In that case let me grab my bag and we’ll go.” She smiled warmly.

"Great!" Kay beamed a happy smile.
