Surprises of Surprises

Mission: Traitor amongst us?
Location: Nisu Quarters
Timeline: Just after Marine Arrival

Xystos had everything set. The Marines were arriving and it was everything that he could do to lock down his emotions, as he didn't want to blip on the very impeccable radar that his wife had. While he had extensive training in Starfleet Intelligence to ensure that he couldn't just be read by anyone, the bond that he had with his wife was something that was deeper and harder to keep dampened.

However, he had the training that he needed to, and he knew that his wife wasn't looking for him to arrive. While the marines had been here for at least a couple of missions, he didn't know how long that he would be able to be in the same proximity as his wife. Both of them had been undercover now for over a year and all they had between them were a couple of communication drops.

Though they had not been up to have children, especially now that war was here, it was something that they both knew that they needed to slow down for awhile to get back to each other. Now the question was how long they could be in the same proximity. The marines were stationed a couple decks away. He did pull rank and make sure that they could get some dispensation to get Alisa away from the marines long enough that he would be able to enjoy spending time with his wife again.

He had been successful in that and he sat in darkened quarters. He knew that once she dropped her gear that she would be free, but he had hoped that he could call upon her before she got settled with the marines and be able to spend the evening with him. Xystos enlisted the yeoman and chief of boat to get her to his assigned quarters with just a quick drop by.

The flowers that he had replicated were from Betazed and were her favorite and had been a major staple in their wedding ages past. A bouquet rested in his hands as he continued going through his reports, especially with the looming evacuations on the horizon as he waited for his plan to be enacted. Free flowers and petals adorned the bedspread in the other room, and small candles flickered in the darkness as he had the lights mostly out.

The doors chimed and he unlocked the door with a smile spread across his face as knew exaclty who was there. The living area was mostly dark. He set down the PADD that he had been through and stood, standing forward into the blinding light that poured in from the cooridor. Holding the flowers up, he smiled spread wider and warmer as a confused look on his wife's face washed away.

"Imzadi?" she asked, unsure as to what she was seeing in front of her.

~Imzadi~ he thought warmly.

Her bag fell off of her shoulders as she ran forwards and he opened his arms for a wide embrace. As he closed his arms around her and her arms wrapped around his neck, their foreheads rested against each other and they just allowed the long awaited moment to settle around them.
