Tony in trouble

Mission: Traitor amongst us?
Location: Tony's quarters

That afternoon after having slept a bit more Tony was starting to get bored. Ren was at work, her parents had been by but had gone back to their own quarters now so there was nothing much to do. Anyway the 24 hours of total rest she had promised Rutherford were nearly over. It could do no harm to check her mail now.

She opened her PADD and filled in her security codes. Straight away something in her search history raised alarm bells. Apparently she had done a lot of searching yesterday and on an open channel. Her breath caught, she had been looking at the marines mission and requesting classified information. Her heart raced in her throat. Why didn't she remember but then almost everything about yesterday was hazy.

Tony thought for only a few minutes. She could just ignore this and not do anything about it. The gods knew she could do without more trouble right now. But that would not be right and her parents had raised her to always do the right thing. So she opened a channel to the captain.

"Xavier, I am in trouble. Can you come over?" She was not going to do this on an open channel.

Sky was sitting in Xavier’s office chilling out as he’d told her she could, whilst updating personnel files with notes from counselling sessions, when Tony’s voice came over the comms. She gave Xavier a concerned look.

"I'll be right there Tony." He replied using her first name.

Sky stood up from her seat. “With your permission... I think I should go with you.”

"Considering she went by first name basis... I would have called you to accompany me." He was concerned. "Trouble isn't usually her forte."

Tony started to pace in her bedroom hoping that Xavier would be there soon. How could she have been so stupid? She was always so careful with everything.

Walking to the door, he didnt bother ringing the chime, just inputted his code and walked in. "Whats wrong Tony?"

She pushed her PADD towards Xavier. "Look at it. I accessed files that I should not have, Xavier. I do not remember doing it either. I looked at classified information on a PADD that was not secured. Am I losing my mind? You have to protect me from myself."

Looking over the pad that he was handed. "Tony I see nothing here that would suggest you accessed files you should not have. These are reports, which is something you are and expected to receive and go over."

"But look." She took the PADD back and scanned over it. "It was there a minute ago. It was and I did not delete it. There were confidental files there Xavier, you have to believe me."

Xavier paused. "What did they entail?"

"I....I don't remember." She looked at the PADD. "It's just I saw the titles saw the classification....you think I am imagining it, don't you?" Tony looked at Sky as well. "I am NOT crazy." She willed herself to stay calm.

Sky stepped forward motioning Tony to sit down. “Tony, I want you to sit down, and relax.”

She followed Sky's instructions and sat down taking deep breaths.

“Good...” Sky smiled. “Now, close your eyes and concentrate on what you saw. Tell us what you see.”

Tony closed her eyes and tried to concentrate. "I... I swear I saw some files that were CO clearance only and I had opened them. But they are gone now. I don't understand."

Sky frowned, and looked at Xavier. “Could the files have been removed?”

"If and only if they were nearby and knew exactly when to remove it."

"There was nobody in here." She narrowed her eyes. "You don't believe me?"

“I believe you Tony” Sky offered her friend a smile. “We just have to find out what’s going on.”

That was such a relief. She smiled back at Sky and her friend's support helped to calm her down as well. "What can we do?"

Sky looked at Xavier. “I guess that’s a question for you.”

"I didn't mean had to be in the room here, but within a certain vicinity. We can have Intel look into it."

"Good." Tony was so glad they believed her. "Sky, Xavier can I go back on duty tomorrow? I have slept most of the day and I would really like to make myself useful again."

"If you think you can handle it."

"Yes, yes I can." She looked at Sky.

Sky gave Tony a glance. “I’ll approve it, but I will be keeping my eye on you okay?”

"Of course. I would not want it any other way, you would not be doing your job otherwise. Where do you need me tomorrow, captain?"

"Help assign people to the quarters. As they come, they will need some place to go. Perhaps talk with Operations."

"Yes sir." Tony had the feeling he was giving her an easy job to keep her out of the way, but she would take what she could get now.

Sky smiled warmly. “I’ll help out where I can.”

"With your calming nature Sky, its best you can put them at ease, that way you can be on ship should Tony need you."

And keep an eye on me, Tony thought but she would take what she could get. "Good, let's do this together." She said to Sky.

Sky nodded and smiled. “Always Tony, if you need me I’ll be there.”
