a difficult call

Mission:
Shoreleave
Location: Ready room
Timeline: En route to Lantea
Richard placed the call to Xavier. It was with a heavy heart. He had not taken it all in himself and he had no idea how his daughter was going to take the latest news. That was why he was calling her commanding officer first.
Xavier was going over the latest reports for the next stop of lantea. They were experiencing a few issues with their arrays, and it was their job to figure out whats going.
"Captain, General Stoffels contacting you, he says its urgent." Element replied as she turned from the helms station.
Xavier nodded, "Very well. Route it to my ready room."
"Aye sir."
Xavier made his way over to the ready room, and sat in his chair. Opening up the computer, he opened the communication. "General how is everything, any information on my two crew."
"That is unfortunately why I am calling." Richard said. "I am afraid that we lost all contact with the team. We have had search parties out already, I assure you that we did everything we could to find them but with no result." He hesitated. "The team did find a large quantity of blood. Soran's blood. ... We are listing them as MIA but my gut tells me that there is a very large chance that he did not survive. The state he was in..."
"The nature of the mission, was deemed highly dangerous, and strategically important." Xavier replied as he leaned back. "I will inform the crew, lets hope whatever happened, starfleet was successful." He paused. "Did you want me to notify Tony?"
"If you could. She may take it badly." Richard said. "I know you have only seen her strong side the last couple of months. She is holding a lot of stuff inisde."
"I know she took him leaving quite hard... she was scared this may happen." Xavier agreed, "I will let her know right away sir." sighing. "Shes been through a lot, but i know she is strong as well... stubborn just like your family I have learned."
Richard could not hide a smile. "She gets that from her mother's side of the family. I will contact her later. Thank you for doing this, captain."
"Least I can do General, Carey out." He shut the computer off, and looked to the window. He tapped his combadge. "Tony, do you have a moment, we have to talk."
