Mission: Starship Side Quest
Location: Hangar Bay
Timeline: Transit Time

On

Troilin went into the Number One Flight Bay, her lovely bird was nestled in the Alert Fight Slot as she is on Ready Status. Despite being in Transit and most of the crew in a more casual routine; Carriers and Squadron readiness differ from most Capitol Ships.

The best comparative is the Marines, always training and ready on a 'Second's Notice' to be in the fray. The fighters are the 'Air combat while Marines are Ground Forces. Both are the First Ones in and usually Last Out with fighters supporting a Ground Force Pull Out.

Heading to the Pilot's Ready Area Troilin took note of the six pilots that are lounging or relaxing in other ways, not taking time to be in depth with activities. It had to be dropped instantly with an Alert Klaxon. Having just come from the Tactical Area to check on the sweeps made defensively she knew there is no danger thus far. Her Flight had settled into the routine of constant readiness, she had some pride in knowing that this Squadron while adapting to a ship that is not normally fitted with Fighters, to look upon the operations the fact it is a new addition is not apparent.

"Situation still Green." She told the computer as it displayed the Alert Status for all to see.

The simple check of the Fighter Status Board seemed normal, six of the Birds in ready with two in the launch cradles on Alert Status. Troilin had her rotation in the Alert Status. Eight Hours On Shift then Four Off before the cycle started again for her 24 hour rotation in the Alert Fighter Slot. Which meant she was inn the Hangar Area a day at a time solid when all is Green, her office as Command Air Group had a cot and small lavatory for her. That cot is more familiar to her on past missions that her bed in Officer Quarters seven is.

Timing her schedule around Staff Meetings did not take much logistics; the Pilots need to be near the Birds, so Troilin could almost always be found down here. Having just completed her Walk Around Inspection of her Fighter she could 'relax' and maybe get some reading in while she waited.

Routine is the only way not to go nuts, an old saying states that Piloting in 99% boredom and Two percent Sheer Terror. With the time between Combat sorties and ship board life, it seemed true enough.
