The Mentarin Effect

Chesire was at a lost on how to proceed from now. The Federation and the Klingon were not at each other's throats as planned. If anything Captain's Carey and Drex were having something love fest based off some useless sense of honor. Using his encrypted devised, he call the man that he had been working with all long.
"Why you calling me?" said the face of older Klingon appeared on the screen.
"My apologizes General Martok," Chesire apologized. The Detective was clearly intimidated by the General who he knew was really a Founder. He was instructed to treat him like the real General Martok even when it was just the two of them present. "We have a problem and I require your guidance."
The Founder sighed in frustration. "Go on Chesire."
"Federation is not believing that their previous Captain was attack by the Klingons," he explained. "And Drex is becoming friendly with the Federation Captain. These two are working together to find me out. This is having the opposite affect of what you wanted."
Martok thought up this new found information. This was indeed troubling, but this could be easily rectified. "Drex must die then."
Chesire thought about the suggestion. "Are you sure? I already killed the last assassin to cover our tracks."
"Drex failed to show any signs of honor by not killing Captain Carey on the spot," the General shouted. "Make it look like Starfleet is responsible for his death Chesire. His crew won't show any restraint when it comes to revenge. His weakness will serve as a warning to other Klingons throughout the Empire."
"Does our deal still stand?" asked Chesire. "I'm risking quite a bit here."
"But of course," the General smiled with a smirk. "Mentar IV will be one of the leading worlds of the Dominion in this Quadrant. You will be the leader as promised."
The Detective nodded in relief. "I just want what's best for my people. We've been pushed around for so long. Another a year and we'll likely bring ourselves down if everyone else doesn't."
"I promise you that under the Dominion they will end up fearing you."
