The start of something new
Posted on Fri Dec 10th, 2021 @ 7:46am by Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey & Captain Xavier Carey & Lieutenant Talsi Carey
Mission:
The Mentarin Effect
Location: Counsellor’s office
Timeline: Current
Xavier walked down the hall. Tal beside him, overtowering him, as per usual. They had made a point to seek counselling, due to Tals, inceased need. It wasn't a bad thing, it was perfectly normal. However, time and place. With his new position, time was going to be taken up. So there was going to have to be some... give, by each.
Tal didn't understand why he had made this appointment. He wanted to know why she was always craving him. Na'viian drives were apparently more than humans, which weren't surprising. Even though it was frequent. Na'vi could be in the middle of work and things start happening. The past decade was great, sexually, it was challenging, needless to say. However she was still getting used to the culture, even after all this time.
Sky was waiting in her office, she had been surprised to see the Captain and his wife on her list of appointments, no doubt they had a problem that needed to be talked out. Putting out some glasses and a jug of chilled water she waited for their arrival.
"Behave Tal." Xavier replied as they approached the door.
"I thought counselling was the place to let things out."
Pausing, he rang the chime.
Looking towards the door Sky called the Carey’s to enter. “Come in” As the door opened she smiled warmly. “Please come in, feel free to make yourselves at home.”
As the two walked in. Xavier looked around, "like what you've done with the place lt."
“Thank you Sir” Sky smiled warmly. “Please feel free to call me Sky while you’re both here. It’s informal in my office.” She motioned them to sit, taking a seat as well. “So what can I do for you both?”
"Tal thinks I will neglect her with my additional duties as Captain." Xavier replied.
Tal turned. "My people don't mate with one. It's different. Mating is different than bonding."
Sky nodded. “There are a lot of cultures that have mating practices that are different to that of Humans. My own people...Betazoids, are pretty open when it comes to sexual relations. Partnerships are usually planned by families for their children, which I have been lucky to avoid so far.”
"Humans are not so. Don't get me wrong, Xavier and I are bonded, my heart belongs to him. My mind, and my... what Humans call their soul belong to him. To whoever and how many I am bonded to. In my culture, sex is casual, there is a deeper intimacy between those bonded, and those mating. I've mated with relatives, siblings, our genetics don't allow for reproduction." Tal replied
Xavier leaned back. "It is something we started off with, being casual, perhaps we can enter that again." He agreed. "I guess the whole married changed us a little."
“I understand about bonding, Betazoids only bond with those they plan on spending the rest of their life with.” Sky smiled. “I take it that it means that the two of you can’t have children? At least not without adding a surrogate to your partnership?”
"I can only get pregnant once. Siblings would come from other females same father." Tal replied. "Our son is in the academy. We grow fast. Mature at 8, but long life. I would love to give Xavier another. But... as you stated surrogate would be needed."
Sky nodded. “Have you thought about asking anyone? Perhaps even think about bringing another partner into your relationship? It would help to solve your problem all round. Give you an extra partner to help relieve sexual tensions, as well as give you the option of having another child.”
"I wouldn't say no. But as a Captain, even as XO things are expected of me."
Tal looked "if we are seeking this, perhaps we should scout possible people in the lounge."
Sky offered a smile. “Actually...I know someone who would be interested in helping you”
"Who would that be Sky?" Tal asked
Sky paused for a moment before answering. “Me.” She offered a slightly embarrassed smile. “As I said we Betazoids are pretty open minded, I don’t have anyone onboard ship, and I miss the companionship. If you’d be willing to consider a half Betazoids, half Romulan surrogate I’d be happy to help you.”
Xavier paused, "Not what I expected to hear Lt." He leaned forward.
"What do you say Xavier, we seek the same her and I, companionship, open-mindedness."
Xavier looked once more to Sky, "If it's what you and Tal want. Then absolutely."
Sky offered a smile. “To be honest I never thought I’d be offering to be the partner of my Captain and his wife. I guess I’ve reached a point where I need more as well. So I guess the next question is...where do we start?”
"Dinner is always a good place to start." Xavier replied as he sat back once again. "Whats your favorite, I will cook it."
“My favourite...hmmm a roast! A delicious roast with all the trimmings. Either that or Steak. If those aren’t suitable then whatever you’d care to make.” Sky smiled warmly. “I’m easy to please.”
"We have both..." Tal responded eagerly.
"Being primarily carnivoure I keep three large freezers of red meat available for her." Xavier replied. "How are you at climbing trees?"
“I haven’t climbed one in a little while but I’m sure I could manage!” Sky grinned. “I loved it when I was a kid. Not that I got to climb trees that often.” She paused. “May I ask, would there be any problem with me carrying a child for you? I’m wondering if my being a hybrid would cause any problems.”
Tal turned to Xavier. "Lets work on what we have agreed to right now Sky... when the time comes then we would be humbled by your offer."
Sky nodded. “My pleasure. If I can help relieve some pressure on your relationship, then I’m happy to do so.”
"This is above and beyond." Tal replied, "Shall we say 800 tonight."
“8 it is” Sky smiled and nodded. “I’ll look forward to it.”
