Mission:
Welcome Aboard
Location: Jeffries Tubes
Timeline: Current
Talsi muttered to herself in Na'vian, these jeffries tubes were cramped, they were too small, but she was told she was too big. Plus now she was lost, but was stubborn so she didnt ask the computer where to go, or get out of the tubes. She tried retracing her steps, only to get lost even more. Finally after finding a big enough spot, she was able to sit down.
James was getting ticked off. The XO had asked him to find his wife and get her back to their quarters. That in itself would not have been a problem but apparently the transporters were down and the woman had decided not to take her comm badge with her.
As luck would have it though the i internal sensors were working and he found her fairly quickly about 12 decks and a quarter of the ship away from where she was supposed to be " did someone get lost.". Said James from about 5 feet above her
"I don't know what you are talking about." Talsi replied as she sat back and looked up. "Lt." She took out a padd that she had behind her. "I am merely reading a padd." It may have been convincing had it actually been facing her. "I took a wrong turn about three hours ago."
" Lt. What are you trying to accomplish or where are you trying to get to?". Asked James calmly
"Honestly, Commander Greyson suggested I get to know the ship. Since we are off duty, there is not much for me to do so I thought I would get to know the ship. I find these Jeffries tubes to be... tight considering how tall I am, but also can be very... well it can have its advantage in certain security dilemmas." She finally put the pad back. "
"Lt. Be that as it may wandering around in Jeffries tubes lost is not the best way to learn the ship. Frankly your about two decks and 30 meters from engineering and there are things down there that if you are not aware of them. Well those stories they used to tell at the academy are not just to scare freshmen." Said James as he backed out of the opening to give her room to get out.
"Lt, all things considering, I know that your engineering is your place... you want to protect it from anyone." Talsi replied as she followed him out, once she got out she stretched, and looked down to him, "If say this ship was boarded, do you think that engineering would be safe from them. It would be one of the first places that they would try and seize control of." Looking around to get her bearings. "I have also studied starfleet engineering since coming in contact with the USS Remmington. I know the systems. I know what not to touch." She paused as she sat down on the floor. "Why did my husband really send you down here?"
"haha very funny if anyone tried to take over my engineering sections they would have their hands full trying to counter more then just the engineering staff." Said JAmes cripticly "As for why your husband sent me down here well you left your comm badge in your quarters and the transporters are down at the moment. You missed a staff meeting and frankly I think he was concerned you had gotten lost." HE added
"Ah yes... the 'staff meeting'. Good one." Talsi replied as she checked the hall way chronometer. "Still have time to be on time." She growled out of frustration. "Apparently I wasn't good enough at hiding."
"None of us like them but they are needed once in a while. Though like you if I can come up with a valid reason I avoid them.". Said James lightly
Scowling, "Fine..." Talsi replied. "I know my way around the tubes. Ill meet up with him there. Care to join me?"
"I don't think so you have already missed the staff meeting at least this time but I really hope you do not make a habit of this and I would suggest that you not take the tubes to get where you need to go they are great for getting around but they are alot slower then a turbo lift or even a sight to sight transport. I will let you husband know I found you and you will bet where you are needed when you get there. Best of luck." Said James as he backed out the hatch and closed it behind him. if she wanted to crawl around the tubes it was not his place to stop her but he was not going to facilitate her either. After all he had work to do.
