girl talk

Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Carey family quarters
Tony couldn't sleep there was too much going on right now. And now her brother being so mentally confused. They had got him back and she was scared to death to still lose him. So she decided to go and see if Sky was still up.
Sky was most definitely up, sitting on the sofa in the living room munching her way through a snack. She’d made sure the bedroom door was pulled to when she’d come down from the treehouse bedroom. Her hunger levels were crazy, but she’d promised Rutherford she’d eat healthily so that was what she was trying to do.
Tony barely touched the chime so it would not wake anybody sleeping but would be enough when someone was awake. She would just wait a few seconds and then go back home.
Getting up Sky walked across to the door. “Hi Tony” she smiled warmly. “Are you okay?”
"I couldn't sleep. And I need to apologise for me brother. Ren is staying to keep an eye on him. He knows him well."
“Come on in” Sky smiled and motioned Tony inside. “We can talk in the nursery, just incase Tal happens to wonder through.” She headed for the ground floor nursery that had been set up for her baby. “There’s still plenty to do in here, but it’s getting there.” Sky smiled as she took a seat in a rocking chair that was in the corner of the partially decorated room leaving Tony a small two seater sofa.
“You don’t need to apologise for Nick” She absentmindedly rubbed her throat area where bruising was visible. “He didn’t mean what he did, he’s desperate.”
"If this had been Tasin or even Melor. Yeah it would be more or less in character. But not my little brother He wouldn't hurt a fly."
“He said that he wanted to die.” Sky sighed. “I should have seen it coming, he just wanted security to take hi, down because he was hurting me. Whatever they did to him he’s got a long road of recovery ahead.”
"I know. Have you dealt with difficult cases like that before?" She was not going to tell Sky that her own boyfriend was once one of those cases. "I did a lot of trauma work but I can't work with my brother. Not as a therapist at least."
“To be honest...no I haven’t” Sky offered a somewhat embarrassed look. “I’ve never been faced with a situation this severe, it’s taking a lot of research and brushing up on my skills.
"I will help were I can. It is not an easy job. Nor a quick one. it can take years to help these men, but it is possible."
Sky nodded. “I want to learn these skills, it’ll make me a better counsellor in the long run. I know you used to be Xavier’s counsellor, but I’m not going to pry into that. It’s not my place to be involved as a counsellor for my fiancé.”
"As I can't be for my brother. I can give you general tips though. and offer support for you. Denise Parri is very experienced in this as well if you need a supervisor. She taught me all I know."
Sky nodded. “Thanks Tony, I’ll be sure to seek out help when I need it. Nick will be transferring over to Starfleet’s care when we get back, they can help him better than I can.”
"Yes they can. But we have to keep him alive till then."
Sky nodded. “We will, there’s no way he’s going to hurt himself while he’s under my care.” She offered a reassuring smile. “I think it best that Nick is kept under guard, or in a safe room until we can get him home.”
"You may need to restrain him, Sky. I don't know if Ren has the resources to keep a guard in there day and night." She blushed. "Did I tell you we are together?"
Sky smiled. “No you didn’t but I’m happy for you both. To be honest it doesn’t come as a surprise. As for Nick, I’ll arrange a care plan with the medical staff. When he’s alone he’ll have to be sedated and restrained, it’s not ideal by a long shot.”
"I's not ideal but it will keep him alive. That is the most important right now." She hesitated. "I will need to talk to you about relationships at some point."
Sky nodded. “We’ve got time right now” she smiled. “I’m not going to sleep anytime soon” she ate a left over snack from her plate. “I’m more awake than I am tired.”
"I am scared." Tony said. "I never had a real relationship that lasted." And now she blushed. "I've only ever been with a guy once and that hurt."
Sky smiled. “I think you’re both in the same boat Tony, Soran is as nervous as you are. It’s something you can work through together. Just be honest with each other, and you’ll work it out.”
"But he has all this experience. He is not nervous like me. I am so afraid that I am not good enough for him... you know... in bed."
Sky nodded. “I don’t think that’s something you need to worry about, if you’re that nervous then talk to him about it. I’m a firm believer that communication is all important in a relationship. Ren isn’t going to know how you feel unless you talk. Don’t be afraid.”
"But what if he doesn't want me anymore?" Tony squeeked.
Sky placed her hand gently on Tony’s. “Tony there’s no way in hell Ren is going to give you up!” She smiled warmly. “He loves you!”
"I can't believe that it has taken me this long to realise I love him. I mean I have known him for so long." She giggled.
“Ahh but before you were his therapist, now you’re not. It’s a whole new universe for you two!” Sky grinned.
"yes. And of course for the longest time I fooled myself that I could not start anything with an ex patient but it has been more than long enough now. But you need to help keep him sane. I know he still needs some help from time to time."
“Don’t worry I’ll look after Ren, I’ll be here for both of you” Sky smiled warmly.
"Thank you. I am so glad to have you here." Tony said.
“What else are friends for?” Sky smiled warmly. “Trust me I’m glad you’re here too.”
Tony gave her friend a hug. "I guess we should both try to get some sleep now."
Sky nodded. “I agree. Come see me tomorrow if you need to talk more.”
"I will do that. First we need to concentrate on my brother now. My problems can wait."
Sky nodded. “If that’s what you want.”
