Mission: The Lost Brother
Location: Various

Soran speed walked out of Tony's quarters and pressed his badge. "Wagnor to Capelly."

"What," the man sounded annoyed.

"Sergeant Drew is in a restricted area of Sickbay, I suggest you remove him before I get there."

The captain cursed.

He turned to Tony, "It would be better if we can keep your mother out of this for the moment at least. She'll need possible deniability"

Tony cursed under her breath. "She would removed his limbs one by one. Come on let's get there!" She broke into a run.

Soran moved quickly but did not run , he saw Tony was hold the lift and nodded. "I don't run unless lives are on the line Drew can't get Nick off the ship and your Mother is three decks above us."

"and dad should be here any minute. Still my gut tells me this is very bad." Tony said tightly.

-Sickbay Isolation Room-

Drew entered Nick's room, he told the guard he was a friend of the family. He nudged the boy awake

"Hey kid, don't worry." Drew whispered. "Your grandfather is sending a ship for you. I just need your thumbprint."

He gently got ahold of Nick's hand and brought it to the PADD.

Nick had been dozing thanks to the medication and was only slowly coming awake now. "What..." His head felt like it was stuffed with cotton balls and he could not really make out what the man was saying.

Sky was passing Nick’s room when she saw what was going on. “Excuse me? Just what do you think you’re doing Sergeant?”

"The Corporal's grandfather asked me to come check on him," Drew explained. "General Sorrel is arranging transportation for him."

“So that’s why you were holding his thumb print to the PADD is it?” She stood arms folded across her chest before she moved her hand to her comm badge and tapped it. “Sickbay to Security, I need someone here right now.”

Nick was waking up more now. "What's going on?"

"I don't know what you're talking about I was trying to show the lieutenant a message from his grandfather but I guess hes on more drugs than I realized." The sergeant said.

'I am fine, Frank." Nick said. He remembered Drew now as one of his granddad's former bodyguards.

Sky looked at Nick. “I caught Frank here, pressing your print to something on that PADD he’s holding.” She kept an eye on Frank uncertain exactly what he was doing. “I’ve called security so we’ll find out soon enough.”

"This is Corp business Fleet can take a fucking hike, Marines have each other's backs." Drew said. "I came with a message from the lieutenant's grandfather that's all."

"What did granddad say?" Nick looked eager and very worried at the same time.

"He wants you to come to the Plantation so you can get well," Drew smiled. "Here read it yourself."

He handed a PADD to Nick.

The young man took it and started to read his grandfather's message.

“What does it say Nick?” Sky looked at Nick curiously. She was worried just what his print had put on.

"You better stop putting your nose where it don't belong ma'am" He stepped closer to sky so that he was mere centimeters from her face. Like I already told you this is marine business."

"Stand down Sergeant!" Captain Capelly ordered. "What the hell are you doing in here, We are on a Fleet vessel. You're standing in their Sickbay!"

Sky breathed a sigh of relief to have someone there to back her up. She looked towards Capelly. “I caught the Sergeant here pressing Nick’s thumb print to that PADD whilst he was asleep. I have no idea what he’s signed him up for.”

"Granddad wants me to come live with him for a while." Nick said puzzled. "I thought he would be so dissapointed he would want nothing more to do with me."

“Given what you told me about your grandfather, is that a good idea?” Sky looked at Nick. “I spoke to your mother Nick, she’s willing to support you if you want to leave the marines, so you can recover and do what you want to do.”

He looked uncomfortable. "I can't be anything else. It is in my blood. I have to be a success as a marine. That or death."

Sky sighed. “That’s your grandfather talking not you, or do you want to go back out there and face more horrors again? Your mother loves you Nick, so does Tony. At least talk to them before you make any life changing decisions.”

"Back off lady! I told you this marine business!" Drew shouted.

"That's enough sergeant, Fleet security is on their way here to arrest you and right now I don't plan to stop them." The Marine Captain was starting to lose his cool

-------

Lift doors opened and Soran saw two security officers heading for Sickbay.

"Harris! Kelly!" He called out. The commander and I will handle the call in sickbay. Give us your phasers, mark this incident as resolved."

"Sir?"

"Do you have a hearing problem Mr?" Soran demanded.

"No Sir." The youngman said. They handed their sidearms to the officers and left quickly.

They move to the entrance of sickbay, "please let me handle this. The Marines already have an attitude towards me, I don't want to affect your reputation."

Soran and turned and entered without waiting for Tony to respond.

Soran made his way to the isolation room with one hand on his side arm. He saw that Drew was yelling at his commanding officer. He drew the phaser and pointed at the man.

"No. Don't hurt him." Nick called out. "Frank is trying to help me."

"Bullshit." Tony said before anyone could stop her.

Sky moved across to Tony, not just to help Tony but to get further away from Drew. “He put Nick’s thumb print to the PADD, seems your grandfather wants Nick to live with him.”

"Not going to happen." Tony almost growled.

"Granddad wants to help me, Tony. He means well."

“Then how’s about we speak to your grandfather first? Clear things up?” Sky offered a warm smile. “I’m sure Tony has some questions for him.”

Drew glowered at everyone, "I told you Fleet monkeys to back off!"

"You think I'm scared of you!?" He scoffed at Soran.

"That would take intelligence," Soran said in a calm voice. " Sergeant Franklin drew you're under arrest under suspicion of fraudulent activity as well as a dozen regulation violations."

He tossed a pair of handcuffs to Capelly. "Please assist me in removing your man from this restricted area."

"Put your hands behind your back," Capelly barked.

"You're not going along with this shit are you?!"

"Please give me a reason," Soran's voice came out calm cold and frightening. "I'd like nothing better Franky"

"Please stop!" Nick shouted. "Frank is only trying to help me."

Drew tried to move away from Capelly, But capelli stepped forward and grabbed hold of him. "Sorry I have to see this Nick."

You've already made a jackass of yourself Frank! Are you gonna compound this by making me cuff you? let's get out let's walk out of here!"

"I need that" Drew pointed at the PADD.

"Why? Soren asked, "If you just came here to deliver a message why would you need the device back? For the sake of your commander; if you walk out now. I'll only confine you to your quarters."

"You let him go." Nick screamed. "Granddad and Frank are going to make a man out of me still. Grandda is willing to try."

Soran stepped forward, took the PADD from Nick and said. "Let's see what he put your thumbprint on. You're giving your Grandfather power of attorney and Checking yourself into Granite's mental hospital. Now I thought Frank told you your grandfather wanted you to come home to Earth?"

"He does. That can't be right. Granddad said he would look after me."

"Oh Nick." Tony said.

"You leave me alone. You all just leave me be!" The boy screamed.

Sky sighed and shook her head, that wasn’t what Nick needed to hear. “Alright that’s it! As the only medical officer here at present I’m ordering everybody, with the exception of a member of a security, out of the room!” She offered Nick a caring glance. “Nick is going nowhere without Doctor Rutherford, or my say so, he’s our patient, and it’s staying that way.” She gave Drew a brief glance, before looking at Tony. “Don’t worry Commander, we’ll sort this out.”

Capelly guided Drew out into the hall with Soran right behind him. He turned to Tony "take this to your mother. I'll take care of this."

"Sky can you take care of my brother?" Tony asked. She felt mad and sad at the same time.

Sky nodded. “I’ll do my best Tony, that’s a promise.” She motioned to a nurse, requesting just a mild sedative for Nick to calm him down. Then the hard work would have to start all over again.

Nick pushed the nurse away. "No! I don't want your f'ing drugs. You all get the hell away from me and leave me alone!!!" He was sobbing wildly.

Sky motioned to the nurse that she’d take over, offering a thankful smile. “Nick...look at me.” She stood just out of arms reach knowing how strong Nick was. “I promised I’d help you, and I will. You have to let us okay? If you don’t want sedation then I need you to calm down.”

He really tried as he hated the fuzzy feeling in his head. But he curled up in a ball again and sat rocking. "Grandpa wouldn't do that. That man was lying. He wouldn't do that to me."

“I’m sorry Nick, we’ll look into it I promise you that.” She cautiously came within touching distance empty handed. “Promise me you won’t try to harm yourself, and I’ll leave off the hypo okay?”

"I won't try today." He sniffed. "Can I talk to my grandfather please?"

“I’m not sure Nick” Sky offered an honest response. “I’ll see what I can do.”

"Please doctor, it is really important to me." He said.

Sky offered an understanding smile. “I know Nick, I’m just not sure if it’s a good idea. However I will ask.”

"I haven't asked much have I? I need to know." Nick said.

Sky nodded. She just hoped she could get the answers Nick was seeking.

-------

Capelly and Soran had Drew flanked as they moved to the lift. Soran had holstered his phaser; he was fairly certain Drew wouldn't try anything with this many witnesses.

"You're both making a mistake!" Drew growled. "You don't know who your crossing!"

"Please give me the information I need to incriminate the man who told you to do this," Soran smirked.

He knew Drew wouldn't tell him and frankly he had no desire to get anyone in official trouble. He was still doing his best to keep those few official records of this incident as possible. He needed to take care of the Sargent in a way the man would understand, so…

The lift doors opened Soran turned to Capelly, "go to the shuttle Bay to meet the marine transport that should be arriving in a few minutes. Explain everything that's happened to the commanding officer you understand why I'll take the sergeant to the security office. I'll have Colonel Sorrel meet us there."

"Sure that's a good idea? Sir."

"Get going it's gonna be fine," Soran said.

The captain nodded and tossed him the handcuffs. The lift doors closed. As soon as they were alone the sergeant hit the stop button on the left and grabbed Soran's phaser. He pointed and pressed the trigger nothing happened.

"I pulled the power cell out," Soren said as he grabbed a man and threw him out of the floor. Drew hit before the lift hard and Soran's knee was on the back of Drew's neck.

"Listen to me and listen well. I could kill you now, I could have killed you on the planet's surface, I could have killed you the first time you attacked me years ago. l didn't. I may be an augmented killer, but I'm not a lacky."

"I… Can't… Breath…" Drew wheezed.

Soran cuffed his hands and moved his knee to between his shoulders.

"I am a Sentinel, I protect those around me. Even from their relatives' pride, you tell that to whoever gave you your orders." Soran's voice was ice cold. "Stand behind me I'll protect you fight beside me I'll respect you stand against me and I'll end you. You best decide where you want to be before we meet again."
