Inspecting Isla

Mission: Evacuation
The doors of the sickbay swished open and the small framed Lieutenant walked through. She was needing to update her medical records and be cleared for duty.
A bright little being flew across the Sick Bay to come to a hover at a proper distance in front of the newcomer. Pix gave her brightest smile and a finger wave in greeting.
Pix had taken off suddenly at the sound of swishing main doors, naturally Milton followed not far behind as Pix's reaction meant someone new had come into the Sick Bay. Only a few new transfers had arrived so soon , narrowing the field of canidates. Milton walked out to see a young woman just beyond Pix.
"Greetings, That is our mascot Pix." Gesturing to the little one. "I am Doctor Milton, or you an just call me Doc?" He moved to offer a handshake.
"Lieutenant Isla Hamilton. New chief engineer. I need to update my medical records and be cleared for duty" she said plainly.
If you step over to a biobed and remove only the jacket; it usually makes people more comfortable for the bit it takes to scan and clear someone." Milton explained with a polite gesture to the Biobed. "Anything you want to tell me before the exam starts?"
Isla shook her head. It took two attempts to jump up and she then unzipped the grey and black tunic. "Nothing I can think of. Only that I have bad genetics. My hair is white naturally, but my eyes aren't affected by it" Isla explained. "Unless you can come up with a reason I can never put on any weight and often fall under the 'healthy' line..."
"Well that could be a bit of dietary supplements in your eating." Milton took out his probe and activated the Biobed. "I have encountered people with a high metabolism or just overly active people not eating enough to meet with the body's demand for fuel." He chuckled. "I have the base line from your file and some past exams to make a comparison so let me get a little scan here and see what we have?"
Pix had moved upward to the monitor and look down at the woman with her head tilted, trying to get something as to why Pix seemed unnoticed?"
"Well trust me. I seem to have a metabolism that runs at warp speed" Isla sighed. "Amd trust me, I'm Scottish. I can fry anything and make it taste good!"
"That might not be the best way to do things." Milton chuckled. "Getting healthy food into you to make it stick to your ribs might also be a good way of gaining weight if that is what you really want?" He ran the probe over her as he spoke. "Some supplements to help with the warp speed burn could also allow for the body to retain some nutrients.
Isla raised sn eyebrow. "I see. Well I'm always up and about, crawling through maintenance tubes and hatches" she said. "Speaking of which..." she gently lifted up her yellow undershirt to reveal her midriff. It was true what she said, she was extraordinarily thin.
"I caught myself the other day when I was repairing one of the power conduits. Well... more accurately a faulty hatch tried to eat me" she explained. A large long bruise ran across her stomach right through the center from one side to the other, right through her navel. "I didn't think anything of it at the time, this only came out this morning."
Directing his probe along the bruise he shook his head. "You trying to split yourself to do twice the work?" He joked as the muscles had taken a strain, the luck was that she fell through at a bending point of her body and the body of hers absorbed the brunt of the damage. "You should stop trying to feed faulty hatches in the future; looks worst than it is, luck is another inch or two and you might have strained it worst." Milton explained. "You will find it hurting a bit as you did manage to mark a part of your body that bends so the more you bend it the longer to heal?"
"Is there anything you can do to sort it out?" Isla asked curiously.
"I can ease the bruising and dermal regenerate it a bit, might be sore but at least half the work will be done. Get it to where it will not hurt so much to bend but I cannot do much if a hungry ship wants a taste?" He joked.
"Well, I'll take the regeneration" she said as she held up her undershirt. "I can put up with soreness for a few days"
Taking a dermal regenerator he gave a grin. "Now this means you take it easy and quit tempting hungry access panels and do not do any more to harm yourself. Maybe avoid Jeffery Tubes a couple of days til you don't feel the twinge of discomfort." He began running he device over the wound. "Give me a minute here."
Moving the device, the soft blue beam 'fading the outer bruise as he worked. The process took only a few momwnts and left the skin nearly normal, the faintest hint of where the line was remained but it would fully fade away as the body healed and appeared normal if she happened to wear something revealing her midriff.
"That should do the trick." Milton nod.
"Thanks" Isla said simply. "Am I good to go now?" she asked.
"Try not to be a chew toy for the ship if you can.?" Miloton joked. "Stop by any tme , even if to just say hello." He smiled. "Pix and I are social creatures."
Isla nodded as she slid down off the biobed. She made her way towards the doors without another word, she still had a lot of work to do.
"She did not even wait for the Lollipop." Milton did a flurry of the hand as the Lolipop appeared.
