Mission:
Traitor amongst us?
Location: USS Resolution
Robert ran down the corridor tucking his Tee shirt in his pants doing so before turning the corner and nearly running into the Counselor who seemed to be heading to his quarters. "Counselor! Hey...I was just coming to see you." He managed to say panting slightly from running.
Sky couldn’t help but smile, she wasn’t in the habit of chasing crew who didn’t turn up for appointments but she got the impression that Carver thought she was coming to find him. “Relax Lieutenant I wasn’t coming to get you, I had an appointment nearby is all. Let’s head for my office and we’ll talk there.”
"Oh well, I hope I am not late I got caught up with a personal matter." Robert replied not wanting to go into too much detail. "Last I want was to not take my check in with you seriously."
Sky smiled warmly. “Don’t worry I’ve had plenty of people who’ve tried to avoid appointments, and you’re not one of them.”
Heading for her office it didn’t take long to reach it, a quick trip in the turbolift, and a brief walk later they were there.
“Come on in” Sky motioned Robert to take a seat.
Robert did as he was told looking around taking note of a picture of her with the captain and a really tall blue alien. "Friends of yours?" He asked.
“You could say that” Sky smiled warmly. “That’s Captain Carey and his wife Talsi. I’m engaged to be married to him, and become his second wife.”
Robert's eyebrows raised up and eyes widened clearly shocked by the confession. "And I thought I was the only one who had strange relationships. He pointed to his tattoos. The longhorn and the cowboy on horseback. "That is me on my pet horse Slim dressed up for the wild west. And big horned fella is Larry the family mascot ."
“Fascinating” Sky smiled. “I like horses but being a Betazoid they’re hard to be around, the whole freedom o& emotions animals have can be overwhelming.”
"I can also imagine it being a bit difficult having the sort of relationship that you have." Robert said referring the Captain and his wife. "It be hard to please two wives it's a challenge sometimes with one but thankfully Kiera my wife makes it easy for me."
Isabelle smiled. “Actually we all get along well together. I take it that your wife Kiera is also here aboard the Resolution?”
"Yes, and I hope we are together for a long while."
Sky nodded. “I take it you’ve been apart quite a lot? Starfleet does tend to assign people where they need them without regard of whether they’re married or not.”
"We have been apart yes and I realize we go where we are told. But it doesn't change the fact that it’d be nice to be together long as possible." Robert took notice of the bump she had but chose to say nothing.
Sky nodded. “Fair enough, so how are you settling in? Are you getting along alright with the crew?”
"This is not my first rodeo on Galaxy Class feels like the Enterprise. As for rest of the crew I have yet to really meet them." Robert replied. "But so far folks here are quite friendly."
“Wonderful” Sky nodded. “Do you and your wife have any children?”
"No...not yet." Robert leaning back in his chair. "We try once in awhile but it's been difficult."
“More so as you’ve been apart a lot of the time.” Sky smiled warmly. “It’ll happen when the time is right, if it doesn’t then we have a very capable and understanding Doctor onboard, he should be able to help.”
Robert nodded politely. "Oh of course I am certain he is...but I am still in shock at the fairy he has hanging around."
“Ahhh you've met her have you?” Sky grinned. “Her name is Pix Osheena, she’s an unofficial member of the Medical & Counselling departments, due to the fact that she’s amazing with people.”
Robert rubbing his chin wasn't quite sure how to process it. "Well, I am sure she is but I wasn't expecting to see a real life version of Tinkerbell running errr uh flying around."
Sky couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m not sure Pix would appreciate being seen that way, but you’ll get used to her soon enough. Now is there anything you’d like to ask me?”
"Yeah, any other surprises I should know about? Oompa Loompas in engineering or a fire breathing dragon as our chef?"
“Errr no, and no” Sky grinned. “Just Pix.”
"Thank God, not sure I can handle any more mythical creatures becoming real."
“I assure you, there’s nothing to worry about.” Sky grinned. “Okay so I think we’re done here for now. Any worries or problems please do come and see me.”
"How long are you?" Robert asked sitting up.
Sky paused for a moment before the penny dropped. “Ohh err... 12 weeks.” She smiled warmly. “Looks like a girl so far.”
"Must be excited." Robert replied walking behind the chair resting his hands on the top.
“Very much so” Sky smiled happily. “After losing my first, this baby is extra special.”
Suddenly Robert felt all his blood rush out of his face as it turned pale. "Oh...I am so sorry to hear that."
Sky nodded. “Thank you. I’m sorry if that made you feel uncomfortable, I didn’t intend it to.”
Robert cleared his throat trying to sound tough again. "Uncomfortable? Fffpppttt, no I wasn't." It was bullshit obviously.
Sky grinned. “Tough guy routine, I’ll remember that for next time we meet. For what it’s worth there were extenuating circumstances that lead to the loss of my baby, you and your wife will do just fine when your time comes. Don’t let fears put you off the idea.”
Robert squinted his eyes trying to wave her off. "Ahhhhh, let's not jinx it, Counselor, takes more than to scare me out of the idea" Heading for the door pressing his palms together. "Counselor, it has been a pleasure meeting you I look forward to seeing you around." With a polite nod he left.
Watching Robert go Sky couldn’t help but smile, with that she made her session notes. It would soon be time for her next appointment.
