session three

Mission: Traitor amongst us?
Location: Sky’s Office

"Sky!" Tony burst into Sky's office and then had to take a moment to catch her breath. "I just talked to Diane, and she is ok with you contacting Earth to find out more about my family."

“Really!?” Sky looked towards Tony in surprise least of all because she burst into the office without pressing the chime.

"Yes. She said it was fine and she is too busy herself to do it herself. It did make me feel guilty though that she is doing my job on top of her own."

Sky nodded. “Well if it’s been approved, then we, or rather I, won’t get into trouble checking with Starfleet about your family.”

"Nope you won't." Tony grinned. "I am so glad that she agreed. I did not think she would." Then she finally blinked. "You were not busy were you?"

Sky shook her head. “Nope, I was just taking a break like I’m supposed to. I use the time to read through files, and catch up on paperwork.”

"Oh. I guess I should have checked though. Sorry." She looked a little sheepish.

“Don’t worry about it” Sky smiled. “I could use the distraction anyway.”

"Ren told me about the nightmares." Tony looked at her.

Sky nodded, and shrugged her shoulders. “I’ve no clue why I saw the same nightmare as Ren, maybe it’s just because it was a powerful nightmare. I really don’t know!”

"You sound extremely stressed." Tony came to her feet again and moved behind Sky and started to massage her shoulders.

“This is supposed to be... your time Tony.” Sky closed her eyes for a moment, Tony’s massages were very relaxing.

"Nope our session was not until later today. So this is not actually my time yet." Tony said softly as she continue to work on Sky's shoulders.

“I guess...” Sky smiled as she let herself relax into the massage. “Massage was one area I didn’t cover in my training.”

"Nor mine but it is a skill I picked up later when I found that it often helps with trauma victims. If they allow physical contact that is. But it can also be a gateway to rebuilding trust in touch." She explained while she continued.

Sky nodded. “Well I’ll know who to call if I have any patients who might benefit from it.”

"Feel free, I have always specialized in complicated trauma cases. But as you see it benefits others as well. Now why don't you have a bit of a rest and relax."

“I guess I can’t say no to that” Sky smiled warmly. “I am finding this pregnancy pretty tiring.”

"If there is anything I can do. Paperwork anything." Tony said. "Just ask. And if you want to reschedule our session later today, that's fine as well."

Sky shook her head. “I’m not cancelling your session Tony...” She stifled a yawn. “I do have some notes that need to be added to files if you want to have a go at that?”

"sure. Why don't you go and lay on the couch for a while and I will have fun with your notes for a while." Tony smiled.

“Are you sure?” Sky gave her friend a guilty look. “It’s supposed to be my job, not yours.”

"Please. I am going stir crazy not working. At least this allows me to do something and I have the clearance to see your patient files. Go rest!"

Sky nodded and smiled. “Okay I’ll go!” She grinned as she headed over to the couch and made herself comfortable.

Tony actually felt good doing something usefull again as she settled in at Sky's desk and made herself familiar with the files.

Sky didn’t even remember closing her eyes, no sooner had her head hit the cushion she was out like a light.

With a smile Tony delved into her work making sure that Sky would not have to do much paperwork in the coming days.

~ Sometime later ~

Sky stirred in her sleep, even asleep her mind was still active to all that was going on around her. It didn’t make for a fantastic sleep at any time.

Behind the desk Tony was totally engrossed in the work she was doing.

It wasn’t long before Sky awoke with a start, the nightmares still lingering. She sat up giving herself a few minutes to wake up properly.

Tony had been watching her with concern, she did not like what she saw at all.

“Sorry” Sky offered Tony a brief smile. “Lingering nightmares, not as bad as it was though. It’s just taking its time to sort out.”

"Would you mind if I scan you?" Tony asked as she was technically not working.

“If you think it’s necessary” Sky nodded. “I do worry if my stress levels are affecting the baby. I wouldn’t want to it to be doing any harm.”

"Can I borrow your tricorder? I obviously did not bring my own."

Sky nodded. “Sure, it’s right over there” She nodded to a small table by the door.

"Ok." Tony said. "Just try to relax." Tony said while she ran the scan. What she saw made her blink but she did her best to keep it off her face. "How often does the doc do a scan?"

“Every time I’ve been in so far” Sky looked at Tony concernedly. “What is it? What did you find? Is there something wrong!?” Sky looked at Tony worriedly.

"Nothing is wrong, Sky. Believe me, I would not lie to you." This was not her place to tell. If Rutherford had not told her he would have a reason for it.

“Then What is it!?” Sky looked at Tony wondering what she’d found. “I guess I’m going to have to talk to Rutherford.”

"He is your doctor." Tony said. "I am just checking if anyting is wrong and I can honestly say there isn't. But you should get more rest."

Sky could feel there was more to it. “Tony there’s something you know there is! What is it? Please... I need to know!”

"It really isn't my place." Tony began. Rutherford will kill me, and again it is not something bad.

“Why would Rutherford kill you?” Sky looked at Tony curiously. “I could just look for myself, it’s my tricorder after all.”

"Ah yes. I did not think of that." She handed the tricorder back. "Not my fault then." Tony smiled but watched Sky closely to see how she would take the news.

Sky’s hand hovered over the tricorder for a moment, before she picked it up and looked at the readings. “What!?” She looked at Tony, then at the tricorder again. “This can’t be...” She took a moment before a smile crept across her face. “Twins? I’m having twins!! Why didn’t Rutherford tell me!?”

"I have no clue." Tony said honestly. "I am so glad you are happy with it. But it is even more reason for you to take it easy."

Sky nodded. “You’re telling me!” She grinned. “I am so going to look like a space whale!! No wonder I’m already starting to show, I know you do from here onwards but I was wondering why at 12 weeks.”

"You have to talk to the doc about this, Sky. And really slow down on work, I mean it this time." She said mock sternly.

Sky nodded. “I know Tony, after losing Talsi’s baby this is a miracle I wasn’t expecting. I’m not going to put my babies at risk.” She couldn’t help but still grin, she was buzzing with excitement. “Sorry... it’s just... so amazing!!”

"It's fine really. Shall I leave you to it?" She doubted the other woman was in a mood for a counselling session now.

“Would you mind? We can rearrange for another time when my head is in the right place!” Sky smiled

"That's fine, Sky." Tony smiled. "I will leave you to go and find Rutherford now." She gave her friend a hug.

Sky hugged Tony back. “Thank you Tony.”
