Mission: The Mentarin Effect
Location: Counsellor’s Office

With her shift almost over for the day Sky had one more person she needed to speak to. “Jansen to Milton, can I see you in my office please Doctor?”

Milton was at his desk making some notes about little Stephen; the boy decided to do what boys do best and climbed a tree. Seems he had read Jack and the Bean Stalk before deciding to play as Jack. Milton had to chuckled as his mother has put the safeties up to maximum for her son after he failed to make it alll the way up the tree and fell at that 'perfect angle' to actually get hurt. Nothing but a bad bit of bruising yet the mother had been nervous and brought him in to be checked when the intercom chimed.

=^= Milton here Counselor Jensen. =^= He replied over the comm channel. =^= I was just... Is everything okay..." He shook his head and just changed his thoughts. "I will be over there in a moment."

Rising from his desk he left the Office as Pix gave him a sideways glance. She realized he was in an Official capacity when he departed their shared domain and did not tell her where or what he was doing. As a healer he tended to do that and she liked his dedication so she just watched him go.

[Counselor's Office]

Milton knew that the Counselor had an open door type policy when the doors parted to allow him access. Stepping in he had the usual grin as she had not sounded in distress; so probably something official and such so he did not come totting a medical bag.

"Well now Counselor." He clapped his hands together in front of him in that nervous fashion but the smile to put a patent at ease as he spoke. "What can I do for you today?" He inquired.

Sky smiled as she looked towards Milton. “Actually it’s ... kind of embarrassing.” She grinned. “Well I think it’s embarrassing but as a doctor you probably won’t think so. I had a err ... romantic encounter at lunchtime with a boyfriend I haven’t seen in a long time.” She blushed. “We used protection but I’m not on any birth control. I was wondering if I can get anything from the replicator or if I need to have you prescribe me anything?”

"Ah, romance is in the Air." He said in hopes of easing the situation a bit. "There is a standard hypo that is distributed to allow such romantic encounters." The Doctor chuckled. "I could recommend a simple prescription that you can easily replicate and offer you a booster in hypo form?" He nodded in a friendly manner. "I am glad you are aware of your needs and able and allow me to be of service. I would need the replicator for me to authorize the Synthetic Booster or we cold go to Sick Bay and I play it as though you are getting an inoculation to fend off a bug and no one be the wiser Counselor.

“I don’t mind either way, whichever is easier.” Sky smiled. “I should have come to Sickbay anyway instead of bringing you here. It’s just me being silly!”

"I am the type of Doctor who still makes... 'Office or house calls." Milton said with a chuckle. "I will just get the Booster from the replicator and you can do the monthly dose or swing by Sick Bay in the future." He crossed to the Replicator and keyed in his Medical Command Code to replicate the proper prescription. "It is always good to see young Love with all the emotional roller coaster."

“Jacen and I used to be a couple at the Academy. We lost touch when Jacen graduated. We’ve decided to give our relationship another go.” She smiled the biggest smile yet. “I want to have kids at some point, just not yet. Speaking of which will my mixed genetics cause problems in that respect?”

"I think the fact you have rather a rare pairing of genetics and if the gentleman is human; which statistically are the widest capability for inter-racial mating's." He was thinking aloud as he took the Booster hypo from the Replicator he turned back to the counselor. "I would have to run a scan to be sure; however, your mixed heritage shows your gene pool is rather adaptive and humans are among the hihest number interracial off-spring I would give you a far better than average chance of being compadable from your genetic backgrounds." He shrugged. "It is the individuals that are the determining factor so a scan of both potential parents would really be how I determine if it is possible." He winked. "Just say you have better than average chances at the gates." He held up the hypo. "You ready for the Booster?"

Sky nodded. “I am more than ready” she smiled warmly. “I guess I’m not that far off of Human where my Betazoid dna I’d concerned, and Vulcans are compatible with Humans so it’s not that different for Romulans. Jacen is Human. Speaking of Jacen and I we ... bonded.” She paused. “It’s kind of similar to the way Vulcans bond during Pon’farr but in a Betazoids case it doesn’t signify a lifetime bond, if we were separated for a long time it would weaken and fade away. I’m not sure if it’ll cause any side effects for Jacen, it has been known.”

"Are we talking the Imzadi type bonding from your Betazoid Heritage or closer to the connection of Vulcans / Romulans where it could become a health issue for you if something happens to the bond?" He had her thinking along those lines as he gave her the hypo. "That should help you with a little more time for family planning." He grinned.

“Thank you, and I don’t know” Sky looked at Rutherford curiously. “I put the bond down to my Betazoid half but Inguess it’s possible that my Romulan side makes the difference.” She frowned. “This is the first time I’ve bonded, Jacen is the only man I’ve ever wanted to be with. The only way we’d know is if something happened to the link between us.”

"That is the way of life Counselor." Milton explained with a sly grin. "Only when you do something about it do you get the results of what could be?" He shrugged. "Of course the process is never what you envisioned..." His smile grew. "The Magic between two hopeful hearts could make it so much more than you imagined given a chance."

Sky smiled warmly. “Now that I’ll have to remember for when I’m talking to patients! Honestly though, I never gave a Pon’farr type bonding a thought. Thank you for giving me something more to think about.”

"You are too kind." Milton said as he put the hypo in his pcoket and then with a flurry of motion brought forth a lollipop. "A doctor should have have a good Bedside Manner of sorts." He offered the gift to her. "For being a good patient and calling the doctor to help."

Sky laughed as she accepted the lollipop. “Thank you kindly dear Sir! You keep this up and I’ll be in Sickbay all the time just to get a lollipop!”

A lolipop with sugar helps the medicine go down." He winked at the altering of a song.*

“Another Mary Poppins fan!” Sky grinned. “Let’s say I’m a patient who feels supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!”

"It is a classic." Milton admitted. "And with that I shoud also be Stepping in Time and getting back to Sick Bay." He smiled. "It was a pleasure as always Counselor."

“The pleasure was all mine” Sky smiled warmly. “Thank you for coming. I’ll see you around.”

Milton gave her a friendly bow and exited the Counselor's Office.

OFF
