Mission:
Starship Side Quest
Location: Various
Lt Razka Kas walked into the station's shuttle bay he found the shuttle he had rented and entered the code. The door to the cockpit opened with hiss, he smiled the shuttle was a lot more spacious than the standard federation shuttles. That reminded him of his peoples shuttle he missed his nomadic wandering with the Quath’Mar. Standing here out of uniform with this heavily tattooed arms exposed by his sleeveless tunic he felt must more at home.
"Wow you went all out didn't you Sir?" CJ said he was also civilian clothing."Guess I'm early, Hey Danny boy."
CJ called out to Ensign Webber, the sandy blonde haired, young man didn't didn't eye contact with the men. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt and Bermuda shorts, he looked a little uncomfortable.
"Hi lieuten... CJ, " Webber smiled. "I still don't understand why aren't just transporting down."
"Because you don't get the amazing view, or to walk around a busy spaceport." CJ flashed his boyish grin. "Shore leave is about broadening your horizons. Just stick with me, I'll enlighten you."
Rick was wearing cargo shorts and a plain, black t-shirt, and his usual energetic smile. "It's been too long. This R & R is going to feel real good."
"Broskis this is going to be the most epic time you're not even ready for it!" Nolan chimed in. His 6'5 frame clad in board shorts and a neon tank top looked positively ridiculous, in the best way possible. "No security reports buuuuuddies!'
"Who invited that guy?" Webber whispered to CJ.
"Wow that outfits really something." CJ laughed.
Razka's silence said what he thought of the young man.
"It's shore leave my guys! If you see the party boat a rockin' don't come a knockin'! Let's frickin go bros!" Nolan hooted.
Kay came in wearing faded jeans and a loud t-shirt. Kas had not told her what his plans were and she had kind of hoped for a romantic get away and blinked when she saw all the others gathered. Boy was she glad she had the new dress in her baggage and not on her.
Razka walked to Kay and touched his forehead to hers, "I have plenty of plans for our vacation together."
"I hope you two get a room," Rick joked.
Kay wanted to banter but it was not ladylike. So behind Kas' back she just flipped the other man off.
"Jones don't annoy the pilot, that's bad JuJu." CJ grinned. "Well looks like Lt. Rinne is running late. So I'll go over the safety briefing Commander Wagnor prepared."
"Just being playful, no harm meant," Rick defended himself. He grinned at Kay's middle finger and offered two of his own.
Aalis had been running late, which was uncharacteristic of herself. However, Lonén was having problems settling down and Geiger had gotten off of work late, which would normally not bother her, except when she had agreed to go along for this get away trip. They were going to join her tomorrow on the surface of the planet. They normally didn't split like this when it came to shoreleave, but this time, Geiger had something he needed to wrap up in the morning. "Sorry I'm running late," she commented as she made it aboard the shuttle. "Family needed getting settled before I left.
Welcome Lt. Rinne," CJ grinned. "I'll go over the safety brief with these fine folks while you stow your gear."
"You've all got the briefing that has a map of the safe areas of Al Qunfura. Starfleet has a deal for accommodations at a little inn by the Federation Embassy. If the you want anything else it's coming out of your pockets." CJ explained. "Now the local laws are pretty strict on weapons and pretty loose on 'substances.' Do what you like on your rec time, just be sober and ready to ship in forty-eight hours."
"Commander Wagnor is an old maid." Kay murmured between her teeth." It was just like him to prepare a lecture when he wasn't even coming along. "We are going to have fun guys, but we will behave ourselves as well." She had promised Kas there would be no more drinking and brawling in bars and she hated to break a promise ever.
CJ chuckled has moved towards the shuttle, "he just looks out for his people."
"Well then, let's get this show on the road." Rick headed for the shuttle.
"I hope you have somewhere nice booked." Kay whispered at her boyfriend. She was feeling a little nervous about this.
"Of course," Kas smiled. He took his seat in the cockpit and began warming up the engines.
Kay looked around and hoped nobody else had heard them. She tried to keep up the tough girl exterior but right now she felt anything but.
CJ leaned over to Jones and Nolan, "We're ditching the lovebirds the second we get to port boys. I've got a map of the best pubs on the main drag."
"Brewskis for the broskis is just what the doctor ordered!" Nolan threw his hands up. A party of one.
"Do we have to?" Webber said.
CJ put a hand on the youngman's shoulder, "I'll make you a deal come out with us tonight and I'll take you to the museum s tomorrow. Deal?"
Webber nodded and smiled, "Deal Caleb."
"That's CJ Danny," he smiled.
"I'll call you CJ when you call me Daniel." Webber clapped back.
"You drive a hard bargain boy," CJ laughed. "Fine Daniel."
"We're going to parrrrrty boooooooys!"
Melor was listening to the others and smiled a little. He had not really had much time to make friends on the ships and he had not decided yet if he would stay on board. Besides he outranked everyone here so he was not sure if they wanted to include him. Another reason for him to come along was to keep an eye on Kay. Although she would hate it if she knew that reason.
"Are you planning to join us for brews and fun Sir?" CJ asked the Klingon sitting in the back.
"Of duty it is Melor, please." he said. "If you don't mind. But I will totally understand if that cramps your style."
"I'll be honored if you join us Melor, just don't expect me to match drinks with you. I've heard stories." CJ smiled.
Melor grinned. "Klingons can drink a lot. But my human step father can put them away as well. I would love to come along."
"YEEEEEEEEEEYYYYY BOOOOOOIIIII" Nolan hooted. The suspicion that he may have pre-gamed was dawning on his co-horts. "Klingons party like Stovokor is callin'! I love it. Mad respect."
The half klingon shook his head. "Keep in mind that we can't cause any trouble or the locals will have our guts."
"It's not the locals I'm worried about," CJ said. "The first thing Commander Wagnor's gonna do when he comes back is check the logs. Any of us cause trouble we're gonna be cleaning sonic shower filters with our tongues."
Nolan got very serious for a second. "We use the transporter to come back, tell McNealey to use the scrubber, you'll come back sober, but confused." His voice quiet a secret shared among ensigns stayed among ensigns. "It gives you jelly legs for like 10 seconds, but like totes worth it bros. Ol' Wags can wag his tongue elsewhere."
Rick nodded, "Sounds good. I'll give it a try."
Melor snorted. "You think he won't find out? That he hasn't used that trick a time or two himself?"
"McNealey found the logs of when he did it, so he can't complain! Shakaaaa Braaaaaaa," Nolan giggled.
"Seeing as it will be my ass when he busts us for that, allow me to give you guys an option B." CJ reached into his bag, "These are anti intoxicants, if you want to drink responsibility take one before the pub crawl and to after. Otherwise take four before you beam back. I 'acquired' these while I was flirting with the night nurse."
He grinned in truth he'd gotten them from Soran, but Soran would admit to giving them. That man never admits to having a soft spot for youthful shenanigans.
Melor gave CJ a knowing look. If it would come to it as ranking officer he would take responsibility. But for now he hoped to be able to let his hair down and have a bit of fun. He could certainly use it after the hard weeks they had all had.
"Ladies and gentlemen I've just gotten permission to exit the station. Please buckle up and secure your valuables" Kas said in an overly professional tone. The shuttle lifted off and exited the bay.
