Johnson/Greyson/Bhalet: Return Away team Prep

Posted on Mon Apr 12th, 2021 @ 10:28pm by Lieutenant Talsi Carey & Lieutenant Commander Tony Johnson

Mission: The Mentarin Effect
Location: Armory
Timeline: After Sickbay

Chief Goda Bhalet entered the empty armory. Honestly he had no idea why he was called down to the armory, but all he knew was that he was instructed to get down here immediately along with Lieutenant Greyson. It take much for him to start assuming that something went wrong with the current mission, considering that Commander Johnson had left to the surface not too long ago and now was back on board.

Talsi walked in, as she looked around. Being on the bridge when the away team was coming up she knew what this was about. She had seen it many times, on her world. on the Wellington even. Knowing Johnsons record, she knew what was on his mind. She knew what on her husbands mind. With him, it was harder, he had a ship to command now, whether the captain survived or not. This ship was his, at least temporarily.

"The Captains been critically injured, thats what we are here for. We are heading down to find out what happened."

Goda clearly was shocked by the news. "Any idea regarding his chances of survival?"

"We're going to leave that in the hands of the doctors," Johnson replied as he came through the doors. "Our only concern at the moment is finding out whoever was responsible."

"Revenge is not the answer Commander." Tal replied as she looked him over, "We go down seeking answers, not seeing revenge, there is a difference. Revenge clouds the mind, gives you tunnel vision."

"I don't recall using the word revenge Lieutenant," Johnson responded. "But the word justice does come to mind. The plan is getting answers and finding those responsible."

"The population already has issues with Starfleet," Goda spoke up. "Not sure too many folks will be willing to give up information."

The Commander nodded in agreement. "Not going to lie to either of you. This situation could get worse before getting better most likely. Just be prepared for anything down there."

"As of this moment commander, we have no idea if it was them. As I read Commander, the klingons have a stake in this planet as well."

"Good point," Tony acknowledged. "Relations with the Klingon Empire hasn't been good lately. And if they are involved this could lead to a much bigger problem."

"Klingons aren't really known for shooting people and running in the other direction," the Chief brought up. "We would be hearing them acknowledging and taking credit by now."

"Understood." Tali replied as she thought for a moment. "If it is stealth... i stand out like a sore thumb Commander... pardon the bun."

"Your more like intimidation," the Commander responded. "We need a show of force as much as stealth. And since it will only be the three of us handling security. I have no idea who else will be brought down to the surface with us."

"More like an easier target." Tali replied as she started going over the equipment to take down.

"That's a negative way to look at things," Goda joked.

Tali swiftly swung her tail to smack him in the back of the head. "You try being stealthy at ten feet."

Goda simply laughed as he rubbed the back of his head.

Johnson couldn't help but to laugh as well. "Let's take several of the tactical gear down to the surface with us as well."

"Aye sir," Tali replied as she bent down and picked up three large cases of equipment. Weapons, scanners, as well as transporter enhancers just in case they found a way here on the ship to make them affective.
