Mission: Starship Side Quest
"Let's find Kip and the jarheads and get out of here.' Nash sighed as watched Kay Soran being beamed out. "All I'm picking up on the tricorder is radiation, there some be a reactor leak."
"I'll stay close to you, you still have COMM. for all the good that will do with the radiation." Fran as they began to move further into the station. "We need to get back to the cargo so the ship beam us out."
They could hear others moving up ahead of them, "Danger close! Stand fast!"
Several figures appeared around the corner and began firing in their direction.
"Okay I hope Kip is close," Nash growled. "Or this could be interesting."

Kip heard the shouting and energy fire. "They started the party without us!"
"Sounds like it," Alisa muttered quietly as they took formation and picked up the pace, still ever wary of the dangers and traps they had already experienced. She knew that there was probably even more between them and the audible shindig down the way.
As they progressed deeper into the base, ever closer to the sounds of battle, a pressure started building on the back of Alisa's mind. A niggling feeling crept across her skin as they got ever closer.
Kip pointed the a wire that had been cut, "We're not the only one disarming traps those are Angosions ahead us I can heard them speaking."
"WE'VE GOT YOU FLANKED STAND AND DELIVER! Kip stouted in Angosian. As he laid down suppressive fire.
"THAT'S YOUR ISSUE!" A man answered. As he fired back.
"I like these assholes," Kip said to the others as took cover.
Nodding to Simon, Alisa moved over to the other side. As the niggling feeling crept deeper into her bones, she held strong and tempered her emotions that were trying to creep out of control. There was a duality it seemed going on internally.
Simon flanked her position and moved to the other side where his boss had indicated and laid down suppressive fire as they continued a zigzag forward push pattern.
Kara had been ready to depart the station, to get the hell away from it all. She’d have her time, but right now she wanted away. First things first she needed a suitable diversion, and some information she could use in the future. She hunkered down and focussed her energy on finding a mind she could exploit.
The feeling like she was going to vomit started to crawl through her stomach. Alisa, while focused on the task at hand as they had nearly been pinned down, she felt herself start to mentally stagger. It was a sensation that she hadn't felt for a very long time. She bowed slightly as her stomach cramped.
Kara smiled to herself, she had gotten into this head way too easily. How much fun it was after all her prior hard work. She focussed her energy, she didn’t have to be seen to be good at what she did.
Alisa leaned back against the wall as a mental barrage hit swarming her mind. At the same time, a barrage of weapon fire came towards her direction.
"Ma'am?" Simon asked, quietly over their internal comms.
"Not fine," she commented, quietly in return. That's when it clicked what was happened. She had opened herself up trying to find Gilohesh that she hadn't realized that there were other telepaths that might be there to have taken advantage of it. Chiding herself, she took a deep breath. She rapidly started building up her walls again as her helmet rested against the metallic wall, clanging gently.
"Cover me!" Kip shouted, "I've got an idea."
Alisa had ducked and blocked her eyes from the flash grenade. She managed to lean out and get off a shot at one of the other men that were scrambling from the grenade, just as another psychic barrage hit her. The room started to warp and go dark. "Trafalgar, take point," she ordered closing her eyes to refocus. She leaned back against the wall bringing up her walls trying to entrap the other telepath in a trap. It had only taken her thirty seconds or so to reorient herself as she waged two battles at the same time.
Kara was surprised by just how well this Betazoid was pushing her back, she’d already taken a physical beating from Sky and now this telepath was fighting her hard. She focussed harder trying to force her way past the mental barriers that were now in place.
Simon took point and laid down the cover fire, as he knew something was up with his boss.
Having built some walls back up, Alisa fortified her mental defenses against the probing she started having after the initial soft attacks happened. While she felt like there were insects now starting to crawl under her skin, she knew it was all in her head. Standing firm, she shook the distraction off and pushed forwards laying down the cover fire. The Betazoid was at a full disadvantage having to ensure they survived the physical fight so that she could survive this mental fight that was going on.
Kara smiled, she was already finding a way around this woman’s mental defenses. She was sure she could get inside, to bring down an enemy was a victory after the disaster with Soran. She would have her revenge yet.

Fran popped his head up and fired the men who had now found cover. He saw another familiar Kip jump up through a red ball and Fran ducted down pulling Nash with him. The enemies fired at the ball and Kip rolled a flash grenade across the floor behind them. There was a small explosion and two of the men began screaming and covering their eyes. Kip jumped up and began grappling with their leader.
The force of the other telepath had staggered Alisa as she pushed forwards. As her eyes started playing tricks on her, she focused on the things that were and not the things that were perceived. She followed the shots that Rowe fired to make sure that the forces that were trying to make way for Kip, didn't get too close. They were strong and resilient, as they required two to three heavy stun shots to bring them down.
Kip choke slammed the leader and held a knife to his throat. "Give a reason you treacherous piece of shit!"
The shout in the room was enough to pull her back to the room. She sent a psionic wave towards the telepath, enough that should be able to falter the telepath that was trying to take advantage of her.
Kara hadn’t been expecting that, between her encounter with Sky and now this she reeled from the sudden turnabout wiping away a trickle of blood from her nose.
Alisa breathed a breath of air now that the mental weight was off of her shoulders, and reigned in another attack back at the telepath that had attacked her so.
Kara had, had enough her control was faltering. Instead, she headed quietly for the nearest shuttle to get the hell away.
The fog that was on Alisa finally released like a heavyweight. However, she knew burying the telepathic battle that had waged was going to become a ticking timebomb as she was mentally exhausted from the battle. As she focused in on the physical battle in front of them, they were now at a stalemate.
Nash stepped, "Kip we need him alive!"
For a moment Kip didn't move, there was a bead of blood running down his enemy's neck from the edge of his knife, Kip swore and let the man up. Nash fired two shots hitting their enemy unconscious.
"Let's get these men back to the ship, they won't be out for long," Nash said.
With a curt nod, Alisa and Simon stepped forward. Put restraints on all the men in the room they had subdued and made quick work of it.
Kip pressed his COMM. "Kepek to Eldich, Get us out of here!"
The away team and the prisoners were transported off the station.
