Mission:
Starship Side Quest
Location: Ready room
Timeline: After Generals call
Xavier stood at the window as he waited for Tony's arrival. It wasn't going to be easy. Not by a long shot. He reached over pressed a few buttons, within a moment, a glass of whiskey appeared. Taking it he took a swig, then swirled the drink around in the glass before taking another and finishing it.
"you wanted to see me, sir?" Tony asked when she arrived. Like with Sky she was finding her footing in the relationship. The past months she had been more his therapist then his first officer and that now had to change.
"Sit down Tony, please." He turned to face her. " computer, no disturbances please."
As a therapist she could read body language very well so it was clear to see that Xavier was upset about something. Hopefully they were not going to be pulled into some impossible mission again. With a nod she took the seat opposite him.
"I just got a call from your father... it seems that Commander Doctrines team has gone MIA."
She sighed. "Again? I told everyone Ren was not ready to go on a mission. So what are we going to do? Can I go on the mission to get them back this time?"
"There is a chance that Soran is dead, there was a large amount of blood that was found, but no body. For now they are listed as MIA."
Tony blinked, unwilling to believe him. "No he is tough. He wouldn't die that easily. We have to try and find them, Xavier. Like we did before."
"I have to put the needs of our mission first. We can't keep rushing to our crew mates rescues... as much as I want to. Its one of the reasons, we have been placed on the back burner for missions. Our crew cannot keep out of trouble." Xavier replied. "Not the look I had intended on my command here. I will be requesting that another ship take over the search, whatever they find they can relay the information."
Tony looked pained and was silent for a long time. "You are going to deny it if I request to join the search aren't you?" She then asked.
"You will be apprised of the situation, however at this time, with no leads, there is no starting point. So I will have to deny the request."
She stared at him for a long moment but then nodded. "I know that my father and uncle Wain will both do what they can. I will stay, sir. But it is not easy."
"Not saying it will be Tony. But currently, the mission we are on, is important."
"I know." She came to her feet."Will that be all?" Tony badly needed some time to digest this on her own.
"Dismissed Commander." He replied sympathetically "Skys door is always open."
"I know." She said and left.
