Personal matter

Posted on Sun Apr 20th, 2025 @ 4:46pm by Captain Xavier Carey & Lieutenant Commander Ryan Price

Mission: Those who are left behind
Location: chief intel office

Xavier walked into the Intel offices, looking it over, it wasn't something he was accustomed to. Now with more than one intel officer, it should be able to pick up. With both haing experience, it was lt Commander Price with the experience with the Cardassians he was needing. Walking up to the chiefs office he rang the chime.

Ryan was in an abnormally good mood,he'd actually scared the yeomand who'd brought him a coffee earlier, he had to stop himself from singing out too the person behind the door, he just opened it for them and looked up, "What can I do for you captain?"

"Can you spare a minute." he asked

"definately, what's going on?" he said motioning too the couch that had just been brought up "Coffee or something stronger?"

"On duty, so coffee will be fine." He replied. "How familiar are you with the former council. I hear they are in hiding, from a reliable source. It may have an impact on the ship itself."

Reaching for a cup and the pot Ryan began to pour "Evidence indicates they're for sure in hiding, but if I were personally handling their security I'd have them on the move as far away from the front as possible, one rumor that's persistent is they were hold up some where near the Campor system, my guess is this might be false or very old data." he paused to hand over the coffee cup "If there's any plans to move them or otherwise it would have to a very coordinated effort since they would be a priority target for the Dominion."

"I have an individual onboard that knows exactly where they are, and they are being hunted by the Jem Hadar... they were opposed to the dominion, and fled once they did." He took the cup, and taking a drink. "The individual is requesting assistance in rescuing them from their location, in exchange for some key military locations."

"What kind of deal do you want to make to get that information?" Ryan started to calculate the risks of a high risk mission.

"Lets just say the individual onboard I owe my life to, as well as he owes his to mine." He paused as he thought about what needed to be said. "Six months prior to the end of the last cardassian war, I was recruited into a special operations group, to deal with what was said to be High ranking military officials crucial to the war, eliminating them would cause chaos, the downfall of the cardassian group. What we found were the elderly, and the children of the council. The innocent, the enemy, but not yet of age to become soldiers, or too old to take up arms."

Pausing he looked at his cup once again, "I made the choice to save the innocent, and take the lives of fellow starfleet officers, who knew all along who we were going for. I saved the enemy, in return, I was spared death, and given the chance to return to the ship I had called home. When the war ended, and the treaty was signed on Cardassia Prime, my ship was requested, as well as myself. It was then i found that the group, I had, were the children and elder family members of the council in power. I kept in touch with a specific officer, until I went on a deep space assignment, and lost touch. Now that Officer is in my brig asking for my help. And asylum on the ship for himself."

Ryan set his coffee down, running is fingers through his hair letting out a slow breath loudly, "Step one is to get on subspace with Admiral Edwards and get the official asylum granted, then we need a two point plan to collect these people, Edwards owes me a major favour we might be able to wrangle a couple of crates of the new assault rifles as well, we'll need a lay of the land on where they are, after that we can make a plan, there's no point in going in phasers blazing if we can do this on the clock."

"This mission... that occured, was classified, a blemish on starfleets reputation. Swept under the rug so to speak. It won't be found in your regular channels." Xavier replied. "I would like you to work with Commander Pellara with this... determine the validity of the information before I make a call anywhere. I'm too much into this... I like the kid... Considering what side hes on. If you and Pellara can talk to him, he is willing to give information willingly. That we need to determine his story."

Ryan started to think, "Start the process with Admiral Edwards while Commander Pellara and I talk with the gentleman, knowing the admiral he won't approve anything without good data but he'll consider it if the information is good, but if it can cause chaos he'll support it."

"I will see what I can do, Admiral Edwards and I aren't exactly on speaking terms at the moment, so I may not be his first choice with this information."

Ryan smiled "He owes me, especially after his little misadventure."

"Sounds like a story i really need to hear." Xavier replied as he finished his coffee. "The information I provided you with the end of the cardassian war... like i said isn't on the books. Only a few on this ship knows about it, and just recently."

"Let's keep a lid on that for now, I think you and I should make that call to the Admiral, he might need a reminder of his duties." Ryan said with a wicked smile.

"You get to Gil Molek, if I have trouble with him, I will call." Xavier stood, "Thanks for the coffee, and the chat."

Ryan Stood as the captain exited, he smiled. This was about to get interesting for him. "Computer acess files on Gil Molek including processing data."
