The Mentarin Effect
Location: Ready room

Xavier sat down in his office, he wasn't planning anything, for the first time in his career he was the one waitin for things to be done... and it bothered him. He liked getting things ready for the away team. "Computer, patch me in to the Gree'tok."
Captain Drex's daughter appeared on the screen, "Captain Carey, you wish to speak to Captain Drex I expect?"
"Yeah I wish to return the favour by having you and him over to my ship for a feast in your honour."
"Thank you Captain." Ael's head tilted to one side, "What time should we beam over?"
"Is there a reason why I cannot talk to the Captain directly, this, by what I have experience with, is unlike Klingons to have a third party deal with such things." Xavier inquired. "Not that I judge your capabilities, no dishonour meant."
"No dishonor taken Captain... He's... indisposed at the moment..." Ael turned away from the screen and looked back, "He'll be here shortly if you really want to speak to Captain Drex directly."
In the background a gruff, male Klingon voice was heard but not well enough to discern what was said.
"Here he is now," Ael told Carey. She left the viewing area and was replaced by Captain Drex.
"Well Captain, I understand you've invited us over for a meal?" Drex eyed Captain Carey over the comm-link with an expression that was somewhat like, but not entirely close to, suspicion.
"Just wanted to invite you over myself. You were gracious enough to have us on short notice. I would like to return the favour. No disrespect was intended to you or your daughter. Just with everything going on, just wanted to make sure we are on the same page. There is other things to discuss as well, including sending another team down to the planet to determine the type of help that they need. And what extent we can offer them."
Drex nodded slowly as he listened to Captain Carey. "Very well. We accept your offer. Would you like us to bring any bloodwine or warnog with us?"
"I am sure none of what we have will be to your liking, so please. It will just be three of us and the two of you, plus additional security if you want." Xavier replied. My wife and First officer will be at the dinner."
Drex nodded again. "I don't see the need for additional security at this time. Ael and I are looking forward to dining with you," he replied in a diplomatic tone. "Just let us know when to beam over."
"Three hours, gives us time to get the meals ready as it is preferred to be the real thing instead of replicated."
