Disembarking

Mission:
The Mentarin Effect
Location: Transporter room
Timeline: Current
Xavier walked into the transporter room of the ship, beside him was Commander Sandoval, once again, requesting her to remain onboard was met with decline, and thus meant, more changes to be made even if it was temporary.
"The Federation mining corporation will be arriving within the week, the klingon representatives, Drex tells me will be here by days end tomorrow." Xavier informed her as he handed her a pad.
Marisa thumbed through it, then nodded and put it in her pocket. "Thank you. I hope this can go smoothly, but I'm expecting trouble from one quarter or another. The wheels of change often need a good swift kick to get started."
The doors opened once again, and a dozen officers walked through. All carrying bags, equipment and cases. "Sir, we are ready as ordered."
"Thank you Lt." Xavier replied Turning to the Commander. "Your personal security, to make sure no one kicks back. As well as train some of the people to enforce laws as well."
Marisa raised an eyebrow. On the one hand, she didn't think she'd need them. On the other, she knew she might. "Thank you. I didn't think of that." She smiled to the new arrivals.
"You are still my first officer, until starfleet says otherwise." Xavier replied. "Diane is a good officer from what I hear from Drex; however, she does not have command experience."
"I hope six months will be enough." She shrugged. "It may not take that long, either. I'm hoping Starfleet will send teams to make the proper repairs before then."
"Considering what's transpired here, with what seems to be interest from the Dominion. I am positive you will get any help you require."
Marisa grinned. "Oh, I plan to take full advantage of that. I have a long list of immediate necessities to pass on once I get settled." She knew how much she coul d push, and she wasn't goin to go too far, but there was a lot the colony needed.
"If you have any trouble send them my way." Xavier replied as they stood in front of the console.
She nodded. "I will. Thank you." She glanced at the other officers, then back at Xavier. "I'm ready when you are."
"Losing good officers, even if temporary Commander, I am never ready. But I will see you when this is all over." Xavier replied as he walked around the console. "Do us proud as I am sure you will."
Marisa stepped onto the transporter pad. "The sooner we start, the sooner we finish." She didn't see any reason to linger. Yes, she would miss the Captain and the crew, but she knew the colonists needed her, and she knew she could make a difference, so she was eager to get started.
Within a few seconds the group dematerialized, Xavier paused a moment, the klingons were gone, the Commander was gone. This mission was over, sure it didn't go all according to plan, but the end resulted in what the Mentarins needed, however, with the Dominion interest into Mentar... he feared it was going to get more complicated in the near future.
