Mission:
The Mentarin Effect
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Mission end
Xavier walked out of the turbolift, with padd in hand, going over what Starfleet had in store for them. They had agreed for the time being with his recommendation with Commander Sandoval remaining on planet temporarily to help with the adjustments for the people. She was more than qualified. This left him with Commander Doctrine to take the reigns, as XO, seeing as this would be her first command position, it was up to him to make sure she was ready when she would get her own, or this became official.
Walking around the railing, and into the centre seat, he looked around, most of the chiefs were present, it had seemed like forever which was only slightly more than a week. Their first mission as a crew, his first mission as a CO.
"I want to thank each of you for all of your contributions to finding the solutions to the problem down on the planet. This planet here, is exactly why we do what we do. To help those who need it, whether it be protection, medical, or even personnel." He referred to Commander Sandoval. "We each make sacrifices, some more than others, but with each other we will bring hope to those with out it."
Sky was grateful to be out of isolation, fortunately her symptoms were more caused by a respiratory reaction to the atmosphere than any sort of disease. She still had a minor cough but nothing to worry about otherwise. She sat in her seat taking in what was being said.
James sat at the auxiliary engineering station with his back to the computer screen as he both listened to the captain and went over what they had and had not accomplished this mission. He was truly surprised at what they had done and happy that he had been able to do his part.
"Coordinates are laid in, waiting on your order sir." Ensign Element responded from the helm. "Warp two to starbase for quick resupply, and off to the demilitarized zone."
Diane stood in front of the second in command's traditional seat watching the proceedings. Her hand were neatly folded resting behind her back. She knew she could learn a great deal about interacting with the rest of the command staff by observing Captain Carey."
"Commander, your seat is to the right of myself, lets get out of here." Xavier paused, he looked at the crew gathered. They were anxiously awaiting their orders. This had been big for all of them. Not just for him, not just for the people. Nodding to each, receiving one in return. He smiled, grabbed his wrist where his finger was. "Ensign, lets go. Take us to our destiny."
