~ Previously ... ~
Sky hadn’t intentionally been listening but hearing what Xavier had said she walked up behind him offering a gentle supportive hug before standing beside him. “That’s very kind of you to help Xavier Sir.”
"Your servant." Richard said. "And I mean it. I have found the combination of a good therapist and the help of those who went through the same works the best. And now I am going to make sure that my wife and her father don't bother you again. Tony is very capable of looking after herself."
"We can both agree to that." Xavier replied
Richard nodded and then broke the connection.
~ Now ~
"Well that was interesting," Xavier replied as he got up from the computer, looking to sky. "Talk about overprotectiveness."
Sky nodded. “They care, and so do I” She gave Xavier a worried look. “Why didn’t you tell me? I’d have understood.”
"Tell you what, im up most of the night every night following nightmares of what the past did, not just the videos of the aftermaths of victims of my father. Or the watching of my friends from the Wellington have their insides melt as they were still conscious." He paused and turned around. "That would have been something for my counsellor to. Not my wife, or soon to be." He paused as he led Sky to the chair sat down, then had her sitting on his lap. "A Captain, First officer whatever I am or was, I had to be strong. Feelings got in the way. It got in everyones way. It took Tal months to wear me down, however you took me... weeks." He smiled. "A ship is only as strong as their leader."
Sky nodded as she looked into Xavier’s eyes. “If I had been doing my job properly when I came onboard, I would have gone through your records like I’m supposed to. Instead I did as I always do, I didn’t go delving into past records. I feel the past is past unless it’s causing current problems that need to be sorted. I feel like I failed you, both as Chief Counsellor and as your wife-to-be.”
"There is no way you failed anything or anyone." Xavier replied as he kissed her. "There are things that will come out in time I assure you. Delving into the past sometimes brings back bad memories. I look to the future, and the future with you, Tal, our children, will be glorious as the klingons would say. Why look back to the storm when there are clear skies ahead."
Sky smiled and nodded. “That’s true. Just promise me if you need help you’ll tell me?” She paused. “Speaking of which, I have something to confess.”
"Hmm... you went through my good alcohol stash again?"
“Not quite” Sky grinned. “No it’s ... my past hasn’t been easy either, I developed my abilities early. As such I’ve been in and out of hospitals and institutions for as long as I can remember. I’ve been coping pretty well the last few years, but I’m starting to have problems again. Maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones ...” She shrugged her shoulders. “I just don’t want to end up being removed from duty.”
"So we are both a little messed up." He quipped. "Like you said, the three of us are in this together."
Sky nodded and smiled. “Don’t you mean four?” She grinned as she placed his hand on her stomach.
"Apologies, Four." He smiled as he brought her head down to his chest and just held her.
Sky contentedly lay cuddled up on Xavier, she could stay cuddled up to him forever more. “I could stay like this forever.”
"As long as you want, or until i start my shift, or tal wakes up. Which ever comes first" He paused as he noticed a shadow on the wall. "Tal is up."
“Then how’s about we all go back to bed, it’s not time for our shifts yet” Sky smiled. “The longer I have with you the better.”
Tal offered her tail to help them up. "What’s going on. Who was that?"
"Tonys family."
"Oh?"
“An overprotective grandfather” Sky smiled as she lay back down in bed. “But Xavier sorted it.”
"Good." Tal replied as she lay down.
"Just what families do for each other." Xavier replied as he laid between them after getting undressed once again.
Cuddling up and laying her head back on Xavier’s shoulder Sky nodded. “Exactly.”
Tal smiled, "This, I can get used to. Not that I want to not have sex when i wake up every morning, but this is nice." She placed her head on Xaviers other shoulder, wrapped her tail around sky and brought her in closer.
Xavier rolled his eyes, and smirked. "Just this once Tal. I promise."
Sky grinned. “I thought you enjoyed sex Tal?”
Tal grinned, "Something is telling me, that this moment is great the way it is, anything more, although great, can actually spoil it."
Sky nodded. “That’s true, I’m enjoying this romantic time.”
"I still prefer the sex, thats romantic isnt it."
Sky giggled and lifted her head giving Xavier a passionate kiss. “It most certainly is.”
Kissing her back, Xavier smiled.
“Now that’s what I like to see” Sky smiled warmly.
Tal looked at him, and looked at her, he usually smiles doesn't he. Especially seeing our naked bodies."
Sky grinned and nodded. “Males enjoy naked female bodies Tal, just as we enjoy theirs.”
"My species male don't have an appendage that stays out as it does, out of the body i mean. It protrudes when needed, and it’s no where near as big."
Sky grinned, she wasn’t entirely sure how to answer that one. “Well for a Human I’d say Xavier is very well endowed.” She gave him a playful smile.
"Just how many have you been with.... wait... dont answer that."
Sky giggled. “Not many, I was just giving you a compliment.”
"Why.. thank you... I think."
