With some free time on her hands, Sky made her way to Xavier’s ready room, she wasn’t going to complain just to talk to Xavier. She’d never kept secrets and she wasn’t going to start now. Arriving at the ready room she pressed the chime and waited for admittance.
Xavier was just going over some pads that was going on before the ship was to depart from the station. "Enter." He looked up, glad for the interruption.
“Hi” She offered a smile as she walked inside. “Can we talk? I’ve not long had an evaluation with Tony, it seems I’m being scrutinised by Starfleet as to whether I’m still fit to do my job.”
Standing, he pulled his shirt down and walked over, kissing her gently, he pulled a chair out for her to sit. "Congratulations Lt. You ain't really doing your job proper if you don't get scrutinized."
Sky offered a smile at that comment. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, it also seems there was a complaint made by a previous junior officer but if it’s who I think it is, well she has an axe to grind.” She sighed. “I’ve been totally honest and up front with Tony so I shouldn’t have anything to really worry about.”
"I wouldn't worry too much about it. At least you don't have higher ups rooting against you. I got Admirals waiting on me to fail."
Sky offered a smile. “I have every faith that you won’t fail Imzadi.”
"People like you who stand with me, how can I fail. I have tony as my partner in command, I have Tal you, our kid on the way."
Sky nodded. “And we’ll be with you every step of the way! Hell we have some Starfleet Admirals to prove very, very wrong!” She grinned.
"I know you will be." He replied bringing her hand up kissing the back of it.
Sky smiled as she simply looked at Xavier for a few moments, “What did I do to deserve you? It must have been something good.” She grinned. “Oh Tony suggested that as I’m finding it tiring that I cut back on my hours. I wasn’t planning on doing that until my third trimester, around eight months.”
"Well knowing her, what she says is probably best. I may have a hard time following, but I have a ship to run, and admirals to prove wrong."
Sky nodded and smiled. “That doesn’t mean you get to ignore therapist’s advice though at any point. As you said Tony probably knows best.”
"True enough,"
Sky smiled. “I know you’re not a fan and I’m not going to keep going to keep on about it, that’s a promise!”
"Thats why theres a ring on your finger,"
She nodded. “Well no matter what I’m your fiancée first and Chief Counsellor second. I know I’m supposed to say the opposite where my duties are concerned, and I will be every as big a professional as I’m supposed to be.”
"Just because we are together, doesnt mean I expect you not to be professional, some people think it puts more pressure to be even more professional in the matter."
“Well it kind of does, Starfleet are scrutinising us and any chance they get to find fault will do.” Sky sighed. “I don’t want to let you down.”
"Never going to happen."
Sky smiled a happier smile. “Thank you Xavier.”
"Anything else you worried about?"
Sky shook her head. “No, nothing else Imzadi.” She smiled warmly. “I should be letting you get back to work.”
"You can stay, if your off duty, I have about an hour left, why not have something to eat."
Sky nodded and smiled. “I’d like that, I’ve got no more appointments today and I think Tony would appreciate me taking the last hour off.”
Xavier smiled as he sat back in his seat. "You have free range."
“Thank you” Sky grinned as she stood up to go to the replicator. “Can I get you anything?”
"I not too long ago ate something thanks though."
Sky nodded. Walking to the replicator she returned a few moments later with a lamb roast dinner complete with trimmings and a strawberry milkshake. Sitting down she smiled before politely tucking into her meal.
"Hungry I take it."
“Starving!” Sky nodded and smiled. “I’m going with what my body says it wants.”
"As you should."
Sky nodded. “I intend to take good care of myself, and I promise no matte what I’ll protect our daughter.”
"I have no doubt you will Sky, and I know everyone else knows that as well."
Sky smiled. “I know, I just thought I should say it.” She sipped her drink. “Anyway you carry on with your work, like you said you don’t have long left on your shift.”
"Will do." He replied as he continued.
