Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Quarters
Timeline: Current
Tony went to the Carey quarters at a time she knew Sky and Xavier was on duty and Tal was home. She wanted to check up on the other woman after the ordeal she had gone through during the training exercise and to make sure that she was ok.
Tal, had sat up on the branch, about to jump down. Before her last talk with the Commander, and slipped something on, before sliding down and walking to the door.
"Hi Tal." Tony said. She was a little hesitantly as this was the one member of the Carey family she did not feel 100% comfortable with. "I came by to see how you are doing."
Tal smiled and moved to the side, letting the commander in. "Doing well. Never been taken out so to speak like that ever. And apparently its an animal that produces the smell."
"I heard you went down pretty hard. Your husband was very worried." Tony said with a smile.
"It will take more than a smell to get rid of me..."
"Good to hear. But are you taking it easy? You have earned it you know."
"There is only one way of relaxing I know of... Though humans, seem to think of it as physical demanding."
Tony blushed. "Ehm, that is not what I meant."
Tal cocked her head... "How do you mean."
"Well you know resting with a good book. a nice bath or just watching a movie or listening to music. Doing nothing."
"Doing nothing is a waste of time."
"Not always. Not if it will help you feel better the next day. It helps me to be even more productive after I have rested."
"Sky likes waterfalls. just the sound of it makes me want to use the rest room."
Tony had to giggle. "So a waterfall is not your thing. You just have to find out what works for you, besides sex."
"Work..."
"Besides sex and work." Tony now kept her expression straight.
Tal paused... "Unsure, Xavier has tried showing me things, but i refused as I find nothing else matters."
"You have no hobbies? Nothing else you enjoy doing?" Tony could hardly believe it.
'If it doesn't benefit those around you... with work or pleasure, what is the point."
"It brings you pleasure and allows you to recharge your batteries. We all need that."
Tal thought about it. "How would one... go about finding one for herself... what do you enjoy?"
"I enjoy listening to music and reading. And exploring places either on planet or on a holodeck. These things help me to relax. Oh and a hot bath of course."
Tal cringed, "Hot water... ice cold is my preference. Soaking in the what humans would call, the Arctic would be delightful."
"Have you tried that?" Tony asked.
"Holodeck is not suffice."
"And here in your quarters. Fill the tub with ice?"
A dumbfounded look came on her face... the room was big enough "I will take it under advisement Commander, thank you."
"Let me know if I can help you any more." Tony smiled, happy to help.
Tal nodded. "You are still uncomfortable with me aren't you Commander." She wasn't telepathic, though she could read body language pretty well....
Tony was not about to lie. "I am, Tal, I am. But I am trying."
Tal nodded. Though she did not understand, "I hope to one day make you feel comfortable Commander."
'It is not your fault or your responsibility. It is I who have to change and I am doing my best." Tony stated firmly.
"My lax in nature caused your uncomfortableness commander. If I continue... without changing, will it ever go away."
"Yes I think so. It is getting less already. But it does not happen overnight. I think the more we interact, the more comfortable I will become." tony said honestly.
"Perhaps next time we interact it should be... in a more public nature... where im..." She looked at herself. "In a more proper attire."
"I did not take offense." Tony said. "But maybe we can find a hobby we can do together?"
"Sure, It would be interesting to find a hobby outside of my usual things to do."
"Good. I will leave it to you to decide what we are going to do then." Tony grinned.
Nodding, "You will have my answer tonight."
"I am looking forward to it."
