Just give us a few hours

Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: First officers office
Timeline: Right after "plans to go in heavy"
Xavier had been mulling over it, dismissing tony like he did, did not sit well with him. Having it thrown in his face about his relationship with a senior staff member not being appropriate... did.... bother him. But it was something he was not going to bring up today, at a later date when this was all over. He walked up to the Commanders office, expecting her to be working on something than relaxing. Ringing the chime he waited.
"Come!" Tony said. After her talks with the bartender, Ren and Sky she had gotten rid of most of the anger and was focussing her mind on reading up on what her brother and the London boys had been involved in the last few months. Maybe there would be clues there.
Xavier walked in. "Moment of your time Commander."
"Sir." She came to her feet immediatly and stood to attention. 'Captain, I..." Tony searched for words.
"Shut it Commander." He walked to te table, and looked at the pads lying there. "There is nothing to be said... Contrary, determined, and not willing to accept no for an answer... I think there is an XO in you after all as I have suspected, and a possible Commanding officer in the future of moulded right."
She blinked. "Sir...but I was insubordinate. I said things."
"If you had a clear head you would not have, which is why I sent you off. Although I took you off duty, I was not expecting you to stop. But to take a step back. Stepping back and relaxing does not mean you stop. My meeting with Commander Soran, was dealing with the security of the teams, and the team make ups. You will be assigned to his team, as I will be unable to accompany those who go down to the surface."
"Thank you sir." She said. "So am I back on duty? And are you placing him in command over me?"
Given we don't know the situation, he will take lead. Teams don't go missing die to relaxation."
"So I am not back on duty then."
"Overall you are in command, but he will have say over things that will determine of it's safe to continue. We don't know if it's a radio black out from an almbush, and they are trying to remain hidden or if they are just following orders and raining hidden."
She nodded. "I can do that. I trust Ren with my life and my that of my brother." She meant it.
"Then we will call you when we are at the planet "
"and until that time? I am just to sit here?" She asked sweetly.
Looking over the padds, "continue doing what you are doing, as you said you know them more than anyone else here."
"Am I at least back on duty?"
"I told you to take a break, never took you off duty."
"Oh. I thought you did." Tony looked very sheepish now.
"Meh, perhaps I did, but i doubted you would listen to me."
"I always listen to my commanding officer."
"I releived you until you relaxed and cleared your head. I never said you were off duty." Xavier replied, he wasnt going to mention the note on her file from her previous CO indicating she never listened to his orders. It was something he had planned on investigating himself.
"Per starfleet regulation relieving means placing an officer off duty, sir. Like I said I always pay very close attention to orders."
"Then perhaps I should restate. Just to be clear, there will be no note on file. As I see it it was and still is a personal day."
"Thank you sir. That is most kind of you." She did not know if she felt relieved or angry.
"I will contact you when you are needed, for now... this is what I was planning on asking you in the first place Commander."
"Fair enough, sir. I can do this and it does make me feel useful."
Smiling. "I ain't your previous CO. There will be times, I may not agree, or vice versa, but respect will always be given. I know you can do this, on all levels."
"Thank you, sir. That means a lot." She actually felt some of the tension leave her body.
"Now are there any questions?"
"No sir."
"I will let you get to it." Xavier replied as he turned to the door.
She nodded. "Xavier, thank you it means a lot." She said before he disappeared.
