Plans to go in heavy

Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Ready Room
Timeline: Current
It was a little longer than expected when he called the commander up to the ready room. several hours actually, with the dealings with Tony, then Commander Doctrine, being a little stirred, he and Sky had gone to the holodeck. Now it was back, relaxed and ready to move on. He sat pads in hand and waiting for him.
Wagnor entered the room and sat down acrossed from the Captain, " You wanted to see me?"
"Yes, the planet we are going to..." He brought it up on screen in front of them. Uninhabited M class planet. Dense Jungles, from what we know... there is no reason for us to go there. But a team was sent there, since you will be heading security and the overall team down there along with Commander Stoffels when the time is right. We need to come up with a plan of attack."
"Attack? What are we walking into here,Sir?" He gave the man a searching look jungle jungle combat was presented some of the most challenging and lethal situations imaginable.
"Well right now, its just missing people, but we have no idea why the team went missing." He paused. "Although I am not cleared to brief you in, as head security of this vessel and its crew, it is probably best you be read into it. The team was meeting here to meet up with a Klingon leader that was defecting to the federation. Why, and who are not known at this time. Thats all I was given. However when I said attack it, was meaning action, as in start the search."
"Thank you that information will make planning a little easier, will have four man search teams." Soran said, I would like to be on the same team as Stoffels. I'm fairly certain we can keep each other out of trouble."
"You are in charge of the teams Commander, I am stuck on the ship/ Considering our previous CO was almost KIA when he joined the previous away team."
"You can count on me," Wagnor said.
"There is never a doubt commander,"
"I think it would be prudent to assign a shuttle to the search party, having air support is critical when you're dealing with jungle terrain." He paused, "your science officer is a civilian, if you'd like to assign her to the mission. I'd like her to stay in the shuttle; I'm not comfortable taking a civilian into a potential combatzone."
"Then we secure the area first before then?"
"If you insist," Soran sighed. "I still don't like the idea.
"I will check with sciences, perhaps they can do what the need to do with scans from on onboard the ship, or we can do a fly over and see if there is anything anomalous."
"That is what I prefer," Soran said agreeably. "The science officers may not like, but I'm not here to be liked. I'll take blame if that makes it for you, I'm here to keep the crew safe. I don't need to be popular. "
"Any decision you make for the safety for the crew is one I will fully support." Xavier replied nodding. "Medical will need to be down on the planet, one trained medical per team.""
"I'm fully trained as a battle medic," he paused. "We should still assign a medic to my team, I should focus on the search."
"Wise decision, commander."
"I try Sir," he nodded. "I'll assign Lt. Carey to lead the second team."
"Understood , she will be pleased to hear that."
I'd like to assign lieutenant Boucher to Commander Doctrine's mission. He's a little irreverent and unorthodox, but tends to do well diplomatically." Wagnor explained. "We transferred from the Lister together."
"I don't see an issue with that. Weaponry, heavy or standard?"
"CJ is team will most likely just need standard weaponry," Soran said thoughtfully. "The teams with the search party should have rifles. Unless I should anticipate walking in a war zone?""
"On the planet, we aren't sure, so I would like extra security, the team that went missing are highly trained special operations marines. It would take something big to take them out." Xavier stated, "I personally would prefer three per team, being a jungle, there are many places to hide, and a lot of traps that could lay in wait."
"In that case I'll definitely want air support and issue stun grenades," Wagnor said with confidence.
"Goin in heavy eh, makes me wish I could join you."
"I'm sure we have it well in hand, Sir." Wagnor said.
"Do not doubt it." He replied, "we are still 18 hrs away from the planet, so you have time to figure what you need and make changes should you have need."
"We will ready, Sir. The Angosian smiled.
"If there is nothing else Commander, I have an angry first officer to attend to."
"Good luck Sir." He said simply.
"I will probably need it, should her outburst previously, be any indication."
"I'm sure you to will work it out." Soran smiled as he walked out.
