Ten hours til go time

Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Chief intel office
Timeline: Current
With the dealing with Tony out of the way, Xavier made his way down to Commander Doctrines office. Ringing the chime he paused and awaited her acknowledgement.
"Enter," came the call and the door swished open.
The Intelligence center was dimly lit and soon as the captain walked in, the lights brightened a measure and the displays 'Commander Doctrine were working at dimmed to black. She stood and greeted Xavier. "I'm assuming this is about all those supplies you had me squirrel away in your personal storage locker?" A conspiratorial grin graced her features.
"You assume correctly commander, is everything set?" He asked as he looked around. Handing her a padd, "My personal code to get into the locker, as well as permission to take three runabouts, if needed. The third, can be loaded with food and the likes, set it to auto, and the shuttle will do whatever lead you take it."
"Everything on my end is ready," Diane replied, then asked, "Can you tell me anything about the people we're meeting? There's not much to go on in any of my databases." That was a rare occurrence but she wasn't about to admit that in public.
"Its more of a gathering with the leaders, honestly, Starfleet thinks that they will be fruitless, but we have to try... it took Admiral Valeri a few favours with HQ to even think about it, given that we have deemed them traitors of the Federation."
"Sounds like this'll be fun," Diane commented. "Are they trying to redeem themselves from their traitorous status?"
"Actually, they want nothing to do with us, won't leave their homes. It's us who want to prevent things from happening to them."
Diane's lips formed a small 'o'. "I understand now, and pardon me for not realizing it first. I don't look like a very intelligent intelligence officer now do I?"
"I wouldn't worry about it commander."
Diane was relieved to hear that and it showed in her expression. "So, this is why we're arming and supplying them? We're helping them defend themselves? Are they going to be okay with that? Sometimes overly independent people don't want help."
"If I am truthful Commander, they don't stand a chance. With or without those weapons." Xavier replied "But its something. If they don't want it, we will just forget about the whole cache, in a convenient location."
Diane was unsure how to react to that statement. After a moment she said, "Well, let's hope they come to their senses and realize what you said. They can take the supplies and evacuate... that will be their best bet. I'll do the best I can to convince them without being overbearing."
"Be as overbearing as you need to be. These are peoples lives we are talking about here."
"Aye aye Captain," Diane responded. "Overbearing it is."
"Any idea on team you will be taking?"
Diane sighed. "I'd like someone from the Diplomatic Corps if they're available for one, Lieutenant Jansen. I think her telepathy will be a good asset in judging the mindset of who were meeting, and security detail." She inwardly winced at the prospect of both of the Xavier's lovers coming along in case things got crazy. On the other hand, everyone in Starfleet knew their duty and risks that went along with it.
"Security, take you you think would be best for your detail, we have recently got a new shuttle pilot, and a new helm chief, you may want to consider one of them as well."
"I read the duty roster, I think we can see what our new flight controllers got in them," Diane offered a bit of a mischievous smile.
"Jenson would be great for the team, with the dense of the jungle Tal would be better for the search. She has certain... Advantages when it comes to heavily wooded areas."
“Makes sense,” Diane stroked her chin while thinking, “I’ll use your recommendations and I’ll use Boucher as one of the runabout pilots. With your permission, we’ll head out as soon as we’re ready.”
Nodding, "We will be in runabout ready in ten hours Commander. Be ready."
"Aye aye Captain!"
