Mission:
The Lost Brother
Location: Captains Office
Timeline: Current
Xavier sat behind the chair, Tony was with him, it was pretty hard to keep her away now, nor would he want her to.
"Computer, patch me into General Stoffels private line, and secure all communuations." He predered as he sat back, taking a drink of his coffee he had ordered before sitting down.
Richard came online almost instantly. "Tony, captain. Any news?"
Xavier took a breath, "we found Admiral Londons son. Doctor is working on him now, he should survive. Unfortunately, I have ordered all stop until we figure out what the next step without putting the entire ship in jeopardy. We know its the Klingons that did it, considering he was beaten, and no other methods were used as cardassian or romulan would use. As for the others... still no sign."
"Melor, dad. Not Tasin." Tony said.
Richard exhaled. "Will he live?"
"According to the doctor, we arrived just in time, another few minutes, he would not have." He felt the padd vibrate, checking it, it was from the doctor, raising an eyebrow, it was encrypted, "Just hold on a moment General."
Tony looked at her captain barely able to keep her impatience in check.
"General, the Dr just found a message with the patient. Any idea what "Give us the fathers and we will give you the sons" might refer to." Xavier replied as he took a glance to the commander, and back to the screen.
Both Tony and Richard paled.
"I think it is pretty obvious." He then said. "They propose to exchange Nick and Tasin for Wain and me. I will be on my way as soon as I can."
"No dad, no!" Tony called out. "It has to be a trap. And the commander in chief would never let you do this."
"We have not heard from your wife as of yet General." He paused. "You are too high of a security risk General, let my men and I find a way to resolve. I have a personal connection to a prominant Captain in the defense force. Maybe he would be able to help us in this instance."
"Captain I do not put my career above everything like my father in law did. If this can save my son I will and I know admiral London thinks the same way." Richard looked at his daughter. "But I have just been told Wain has had a heartattack so I need to keep him out of it. But I will do everything I can to save your brother."
"I do not expect you to General, but the security of the federation is at risk if you hand yourself over to them." Xavier replied, leaning forward. "This does not bode well either way General. We will find your son, figure our where your wife went. And get them home safe. We are working on it. You remain there. Or rendez-vous with us, and be part of the rescue."
"I will get back to you." Stoffels said. "Keep me updated and look after my family."
"I have a feeling he won't listen."
When the connection was cut Tony turned to Xavier. "We have to inform someone to stop him, sir. I don't want my dad here in danger as well."
"Who is his superior."
"The marshal of marines or the commander in chief. Sucks doesn't it." Tony pulled a face.
He paused "Second mission as CO and Im already dealing with Admirals, Generals and klingons... well i already dealt with them." He turned to the Computer. "Computer patch me into the office of the Commander in chief. Tell him its a matter of Federation security."
Five minutes later a woman with greying hair appeared on the screen. She seemed curious to be called directly by a captain.
"Sorry not to go through proper channels, but there is a situation. General Stoffels has been running special ops dealing with a klingon defector. The mission apparently went south, and now the klingons have ordered a trade Admiral London, and General Stoffels for their sons who the teams were consisting of. With Admiral London out of commission with a heart attack, General Stoffels seems to be willing to trade places."
"He would wouldn't he." Admiral Benton stared at the screen. "Is that you Antonia?"
"Yes ma'am." She said rather meekly.
"Hmm. Don't worry captain. I will have a word with the general. We go way back. He will not be bothering you." Benton out."
Tony visible relaxed. "That woman scares me. Has since the time she put me over her knee when I was five."
"Something tells me, she won't be as effective as she thinks."
"You think dad will be stupid enough to go against a direct order? We should have called my uncle Pete to just tranq him for a couple of days."
"Family, is higher on the list for some people. What do you think."
"Oh shit. And now the brass knows which means he would get into big trouble."
"If we stop him, then maybe he will get off with a slap on the wrist."
"What do you propose? Because believe it or not when it comes down to it dad can be more stubborn then my mum. And he can't lose his career over this."
"Perhaos you can talk to the commander in chief and ask her to keep it under wraps... she had to know, but maybe she can give us some time."
"Are you kidding? She hates my guts. Thinks I am a spoilt rotten brat."
"Well, your fathers career is destroyed if he goes through."
"Oh nice. You are putting this on me. You are the one who wanted to tell her in the first place." Tony huffed.
"She needs to know, a marine general with decades worth of special ops... how do you think he will be stopped."
"Like I said have uncle pete tranq him. It's the only way."
"Then you make the call."
She rolled her eyes. "Xavier you created this, you solve it. You keep my father out of my hair. I don't need him here on top of my mum."
Narrowing his eyes. "Fine... this is going to look so good on my file... having a general Tranq'ed." Within moments after alling the computer to patch him in. "So, 'Uncle Pete' he stated as the guy came on, he made sure that Tony was visible. "We have a situation... Which Tony would be able to explain in proper detail."
She rolled her eyes. "Hi uncle Pete. This is my commanding officer captain Carey." She quickly explained the situation of the kidnapping and finding Melor. "Now the captain insisted on informing dad. Who of course wants to come here and play hero. We don't believe that dad is actually going to stay on earth. So then we informed admiral Benton who thinks she will be able to stop dad and of course she can't. Now that is bad for dad's career. So I only see one way to stop him."
"And that is?" Sorrel raised an eyebrow at his niece.
"you tranq him and keep him that way for a few days."
"Riiiight." It was the same southern drawl that Tony could do to perfection. "And my Hippocratic oath, young lady?"
"You will be saving him from possible death, by stopping him from doing something rash." Xavier stated. "Its actually safer for the general."
"Tony you have finally found someone as crazy as yourself to work with. " Sorrel shook his head. "Look I will go round and have a chat with Rich. But I am not making any promises. Your dad still outranks me."
"Medical professionals do outrank if they feel their physical, mental, or emotional health is compromised."
"Yes. But Richard is a tricky bastard." Pete smiled. "As I said I will see what I can do. But you had better bring everyone back in one piece."
"Promies is not my line of work Doctor, but we will do our best."
