Mission: The Lost Brother
Location: Holodeck two

ooc then we should rewrite the whole beginning shouldn't Or send it in as a backpost ≈ uI think if we just rewrite the paragraph I marked with a # I think the rest works. ~ I made a beginning there

CJ stood on the holodeck firing range program, waiting for Commander Stoffels. She had missed her first appointment for her certification test, he was sure why Wagnor had assigned this to him. He knew they friends… that could be the reason, he chuckled.

"you have got to be kidding me." Tony was not amused when she received an official notification that she had missed her certification test this morning. "And is mr perfect too scared to face me himself over this nonsense? He knows damned well that I had other things on my mind when I missed my test. And he knows that I can handle my phaser."

"With all do respect Ma'am," Boucher smirked "I don't know what's going on between you and the Commander, but I don't a dog in this fight."

"He hasn't told you?" Tony felt herself blushing.

CJ grinned at her. "Nope, but that would explain the change in his mood. Good for you two."

"He's in a better mood then?" Tony asked.

"Well he still has his usual brusque professional manner, but he smiles thinks nobody's looking." Boucher laughed.

"Awww. Where is he anyways? I thought he would take this test?"

"Ren is giving a talk to Ms Lokaii's class right now explaining security to five year olds." CJ chuckled, "not sure who has it worse him, or those kids."

Tony snorted. "I would give a good amount of money to see that. Poor kids."

"Ren is better with kids than you might think, my niece loves him." He smiled. "She calls him Uncle Reny."

Now she really burts out laughing. "Are we talking about the same man?"

CJ shrugged, " He doesn't really understand kids so he treats them like little adults. Most kids like that, just don't try handing him a baby. He got handed a baby when the Lister was aiding with civilian evacuation, I thought his head would explode."

Tony really could not stop laughing now. "Stop it or I will never pass my test this way. Yeah I have seen him handle babies. Not a pretty sight."

CJ rasied an eyebrow, "is there a story there?"

"My uncle only started a family pretty late in life so my nephew and nieces are a lot younger than I am. When he held my niece Savannah for the first time she peed all over him."

"He has pretty bad luck with babies" He laughed. "Let’s get this certification out of the way, it's just a formality."

"I should hope so. I have been able to shoot since I was a toddler." She followed him to the range. "I really must get Ren back for this."

"This is just standard Fleet bureaucracy," CJ explained. "He had to do the same test last week."

"Such a waste of time." Tony said as she got ready to take the test.

"No arguments here," he shrugged. "Tell you what, Do a few arounds target practice with me and I'll sign off the certification. That's what we do with some of the security personnel. I'm sure that's what Ren was planning to do too."

"No problem. Let's make this interesting." She grinned. "How about a contest?"

"You've got a deal," He said with his boyish grin.

She waited until he had set a pattern for them to follow.

He set the pattern and handed her a type to hand phaser. "Computer begin."

Tony started following the pattern of targets as they popped up being extra careful not to shoot the innocent civilians that intermingled with the real targets.

Boucher was doing the same, but a little slower, he rifle had al ways been his strong suit.

Tony was not even breathing hard when she hit the end but her eyes were sparkling. This was fun to do.

"How are you with a rifle?" Boucher asked

"Not as good as a hand phaser but I can hold my own. So how did I do?"

"Five points short of a new record," CJ smiled.

"Darn." Tony said happily. "I haven't lost my touch."

Boucher picked up a rifle from the table, "time to try things in my wheelhouse."

"Bring it on." She said with a grin.

"Famous last words," he grinned. "We'll try a program Ren and I are working on to train sharpshooters."

The holodeck melted into a forest there four humanoids and starfleet uniforms moving toward a clearing.

"Computer freeze," CJ ordered. Our job is to hang back and protect the team from threads. To pass he was correctly identified threats while not hurting anyone on the team."

"Ok I can do that." They had done that in the phaser test but that was not in such a real setting as this.

CJ handed Tony a rifle and picked up his rifle, "Computer resume program."

"On it." Tony knew he would throw her curveballs so she started out cautious making sure that she would not shoot a civilian by accident. Better to be a little cautious and make sure there were no accidents.

CJ climbed a tree and setup a perch for his rifle.

"I thought we were supposed to keep moving? What do you want me to do?"

"Find a good spot make sure it's when you can move from quickly."

"You mean you can't run and shoot?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I can," Boucher said " We are covering and safeguarding the people who are doing the running. Rifles up a distance shooting."

"Ok. " She said with a little grumble. "I thought this was going to be fun." She found a position that gave her a good view but some cover as well.

"Just wait," CJ chuckled.

The enemies begin showing themselves and CJ took his first shot.

Tony followed her lead but took a little longer than he did before she shot. She had a bigger fear of hitting a civilian and that held her back.

One of the apparent civilians turn civilians turned around and threw a small spherical object go object in Tony's direction. CJ fired and the man before he hit throw another.

"Commander move!" He called out. Flowing the grenade and jumping behind cover.

"Shit." Tony tried to move out of the way and more or less succeeded before it exploded. Damn, she thought this is really lifelike. "I'm fine!" She called out.

"That's good they've got our location we gotta move," CJ laughed. Ren wants most of the training programs to have targets that shoot back."

Tony grumbled something but got into the game of it. This was fun.

Bouchered fired a few shots and moved behind a large rock, "I’ll cover you Commander."

"Thanks." While he did that she managed to get into a new position and get some shots off of her own."

Boucher shouted, "behind you."

He fired a shot over her shoulder and another enemy fell behind her.

"Man that is mean." She grumbled but secretly Tony was enjoying herself.

"Watch my six" he said. and run for the next bit of cover.

"On it boss." Tony grinned as she now covered Boucher as he ran.

"Follow me I'll cover you ma'am," CJ called out.

"Ok." She waited a few seconds and then started to run for the next point of cover she could make out.

A small projectile landed next to her as she ran, CJ grabbed it and threw it, It exploded in the air.

He hit the dirt next to Tony, "I'm not supposed to do that so please don't tell Ren."

"I won't give you away." Tony promised. "But he has a nose for finding these sort of things out."

"Yeah hes kind of scary like that," he laughed.

Tony laughed. "I would not call him scary, but he is smart."

"Yeah and that can be scary." Boucher smiled. Popping his head up and firing a shot at the enemy.

"I grew up around smart people so that does not intimidate me." Tony said while keeping her mind on what she was doing.

"I'm not intimidated by Ren, but his ability to keep tabs on his people is annoying." he laughed.

"That I give you." Tony had to agree.

"The team is making it to the destination we're almost through." Boucher said, Motioning to the federation officers moving towards a structure.

"Ok." She tried to stay sharp and followed his lead.

Boucher motion to the tower before firing the a sniper.

Tony nodded and tried to take out the second sniper while not giving up her cover.

"Time to regroup," CJ grinned.

"Yup." She took a last shot and then crouched down next to him again. "So how did I do?"

"You passed the first five minutes the rest of us was just fun," He grinned.
