Telling the captain

Mission: Evacuation

At the end of her shift when she knew that Xavier would be in his ready room she walked over to Wagnor's office as she knew he was coming off shift as well. She was nervous about this but too many people knew about them now and it was time to tell the captain officially.

"Ren I think it is time. We can't wait any longer we have to tell the captain about us. Do you want to go alone or do you prefer I do it alone.

"I'll come with you," he said simply.

"Ok." Tony said. She felt pretty nervous about this as she had no idea how Xavier was going to take this. He had had feelings for her when she came on board and she had told him she never started something with an ex-patient and now she was breaking that rule for the first time.

So her stomach was flopping when she hit the chime to the captain's ready room.

Xavier looked up to the door, from his pads. The whole civilians were moving off ship... marines being moved on. "Enter."

"Captain." Tony said when they entered. "Do you have a minute? It is a personal matter."

"Alright. What's on your mind."

She looked nervously from Xavier to Ren and then took a huge deep breath. "As captain you need to know certain things about your XO. Ren and I are seeing each other."

Xavier had been taking a sip from his drink when she told him. Not flinching or even making eye contact, "About time... the tension between the two of you, showed obvious signs of feelings towards each other Commander." He placed the Cup on the table. Looking up. "So... is that it?"

'You knew!"

Xavier nodded, "I knew that it was only a matter of time." He smiled. "What did you expect me to say. No you can't. the assistant tactical chief is my wife. Im engaged to the chief counsellor. Complicated."

"You are not angry?" Tony was a little apprehensive especially when he would not meet her eye.

"That you are happy... why would I be."

Soran just smiled, "We keep things professional on duty, of course."

Tony was so relieved that Xavier was taking this well. "Yes I will continue to yell at him if he does anything stupid on duty." She teased him.

"Why would you think I would be upset."

She felt extremely nervous now. "I ehm I will tell you later privately."

Thinking about it... He realized. "Of course Commander."

Soran the watched the exchange quietly with patient smile.

Tony breathed a sigh of relief when Ren did not ask anything. She would be breaking confidentiallity telling either man that the other had been a patient of hers so she had never told Ren about the captain and was not about to. 'I guess that's it then." She said with a sheepish smile.

"Why don't we go get dinner Commander?" Soran asked. "I'm sure the captain as things to do."

"Uhm, yes I think that would be best." Tony said suddenly eager to get out of there.

"Commander Wagnor... why don't you go and surprise the Commander with a home made dinner. I hear thats the secret to winning a womans heart even further." He replied glancing over at the Security chief. "Commander Stoffel's a word with you privately."

"I will be home in a minute." Tony assured Ren as she stayed behind in the ready room.

Soran nodded and existed.
