Mission:
Evacuation
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current
ON
The uniform was pressed to standards of course, he had the PADD in hand with his transfer orders and the new oppurtunity to show what he can do is ahead of him. He would be in demand from all intent and purposes, a Capitol SHip would be a resource haven with a smart man at the helm. THs evacuation is already looming in his list of things to be handled, allocations between the ships, operations and especially the On Site Intel will keep him busy.
Stepping out onto the massive bridge Qurick moved down to the "Flag Island' of three chairs to find the Captain in his place of Authority. Snapping to a respectful stance and extending the PADD before he spoke. He was quite adapt at masking his sheer height as compared to his fellow Ferengi and hoped it was not as obvious to those around him.
"Lieutenant Qurick reporting as your Strategic Operations Officer Sir." He gave a nod of his head. "I only just arrived and came to you first thing as required by reg-uations. The ship will profit as I look forward to working with your Command Team Captain."
"A ferengi startegic ops officer." Xavier paused a bit taken aback. "I am sure we will Lt." Xavier stood offering his hand. "You came at probably the best time, with the current mission and the war on the way."
"I have been noting an increase of hostile intent at my previous stationing." HE accepted the hand and pumped it the polite number of times before releasing. I am glad that you noted the profit of my being here Captain X-avier." Qurick nod. "I look forward to being more mobile in the probable conflict ahead. Mobility will give a better perspective than on a station, Sir."
"Ah... a station... I have never had the... pleasure of a station." He replied as he gestured towards a seat. "Tell me, what brought you to starfleet?"
"You misjudged me a moment ago." Qurick took the offered seat. "I am not a Ferengi at all according to the Rules, several of them actually." He shrugged. "I am Born on Earth and thus more of a Hue-mon in my family business so they felt I would make a good rung to climb upon so I did not stay for the Family business."
"That you are correct and I apologize Lt." Xavier agreed. "So... what exactly do you offer the Resolution." He asked as he leaned back. He could look at the file. However he liked hearing it from the officer instead.
"A most profitable resource more than Latinum can buy." Qurick gave a toothy smile. "If you keep a level head resource allocations is the same , as the rule says ; War is Good for business." He quote the Ferengi rule. "War can be no different, you take what you have and use it for the best strategic outcome, same as a business transaction. The stakes are higher than Latinum but the principals are the same. He who best allocates his resources gets the Profitable outcome." Nodding. "And as a Ferengi I protect my resources and only risk what will profit the Business, A.k.a. the Federation and Star Fleet." Smiling. "I am very good at analysis and allocation, very profitable as a matter of fact."
"Very profitable indeed." Xavier replied in agreement. "Lets get the First officer in here shall we." He tapped his badge. "Commander, please join me in the ready room."
"Very well sir on my way." And not much later she joined the two in the ready room. Tony blinked a few times at the sight of a Ferengi in a starfleet uniform but did not say anything. "You wanted to see me, sir?" She nodded a welcome at Qurick.
"Commander meet Lt Qurick, he will be our strategic operations officer onboard." Xavier replied. "I think that also makes him the first ferengi starfleet officer."
"Of that I am not sure Captain and Commander, I am just a graduate at top 5% of class." He added. "Have had a fine working relationship in Star Fleet."
"With a top five... im impressed. I got a 15 myself."
"Let's not talk about that." Tony grumbled. "She had gone to university first and then did a fast officer training. And then learned all the other bits in her sapre time really until she qualiffied for command track. "But I was top 10% at university though."
"See we are all in the top 15."
"Pardon My Manners." Qurick rose and bow slightly. "One must rise when a lady enters, proper ediquette. I hae been remiss, I apologize."
Tony waved him down with a smile. "I work for a living so I am not a lady. But I would like to know more about you, Lt Qurick."
"If a Male Officer is suppose to be a Gentleman, then would it not be logical for a Fee=male Officer to be a lady?" He asked as he reseat himself. "Seems apparent to me, Commander?"
"You have a point there." Tony admitted. "It's just like when I picture a lady I see someone in a dress with make-up and such. Someone so not me."
"How a Fee-male adorns herself is an art form that one should savor as it is a view of who she is as a Woman." Speaking from his experiences. "No matter the style or choices a woman's attire and how she carries herself is to be admired." Looking to the Commander. "That is how I see things at least."
Xavier smiled, his new officer was intriguing to say the least. "Take the compliment Commander."
"Alright." Tony smiled. "I will be a lady for a day."
"I do look forward to working with you Commander." Qurick informed. "The Intel chief is also one that I will be speaking with on a regular basis. On site Intel is a vital part of my duties for allocation of resources. Bad business not to have all the facts before one commits to action." He added. "I have noted that we have several resources with additional ships to do this mission, should I also take stock of their resources for allocation of the mission parameters?"
"Yes I think that would be an excellent idea if you take stock of what our little fleet has in resources." She looked at Xavier for his views.
"I agree, we need to pool our resources together, and see the best course of action as one unit rather than trying to guess." Xavier agreed. "I know Commander Doctrine would really appreciate the assistance in this matter."
"Have you met her yet?" Tony asked.
"I have plans to make my way to her domain, but have not had the pleasure as yet." Qurick answered. "Though those people are ; how do you say it... Spooky?"
"She's alright for an intel officer." Tony said. "Diane is not so spooky."
"Spooky does not frighten me, I am only relaying what others on multiple ship had referred to Intel Officer's as in conversation." He told. "In reality I have seen more frightening things in back streets during dealings with my Family in New markets. "
Tony laughed. "You should hear the collection of words my dad has for intel officers. It would make even your ears hurt."
"My lobes are not that innocent I assure you." Qurick replied. "You should see some of the 'Business dealings my Family had to make a profit while pushing the 'Spirit ' of the Rule of Acquisition." He laughed a little. "If you understand Klingon the language is very 'Colorful' as you hue-mons say."
"Yeah I speak some Klingon." Tony grinned. "Melor tought us all all the swear words when we were little to the horror of our parents."
"There are Ferengi rules about cheating or antagonizing a Klingon." Qurick addressed the matter. "Though the cold calculating with hint of irritation in the temper of a Romulan is far more unnerving than any Klingon rage fit, I assure you."
"I can't say that I know any Romulans up close and personal. I have seen Klingon rages though." she grinned. "Melor stubbing his toe. Oh he is on board right now, I have to introduce you to him."
"They can be pleasant upon occasion, but underestimate their range for deceit, they are not as logical as Vulcas, they are even counyeter -logical if it will get them what they wish." Qurick said. "The Klingons were in alliance for a time and exchanged technology until the Romulans did not see any further profit and backed away."
"Yeah. Give me Klingons every day over Romulans." Tony mused. "At least with them you know were you stand."
" I only do business with those that I can work with; the Klingons are forward and blunt in their expressions of desires, easy to fill their need actually." He look between the two officers. "Hue-mons are not as easy, I grew up on Earth and you still amaze me despite my exposure to your culture. Women are a mystery I shall never unravel, but the challenge and research is fulfilling." He nod to the Commander. "I say with utmost respects of course ma'am."
She could only laugh. "Always willing to be an object of research. I have not known that many Ferengi's personally so I would like to get to know you better in return."
"That would be my Profit." He gave a slight Bow. "I must remind you that I am not a Ferengi at All." He added. "SO learning my personna might not yield the results you are after should you want to know Ferengi traditions?"
"Ah well. You would be even more interesting being so unique." She winked.
"As you wish Commander." Qurick replied. "I should be thinking more along the lines of getting the resource information collated."
"Of course. Duty before pleasure. I think we will both be too busy for a while to do much socialising."
"There is the business; I mean planning, for the evacuation." Bowing to the Captain as well. "I should be to it then, other Officers and ship OPS people to make alliances with so we can have a smooth business of this operation."
"Understood Lt. Welcome to the Resolution, looking forward to working with you."
"The profit is all mine Sir." Qurick replied and tirned to exit the bridge.
