Concern

Posted on Fri Dec 16th, 2022 @ 7:57am by Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey & Lieutenant Commander Rutherford (RJ) Milton & Pix Osheena

Mission: Traitor amongst us?
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After Tony’s admittance to Sickbay

With events as they had been Sky had left it a little while before she made her way to Sickbay to check in on Pix and Rutherford, as well as to discuss the next steps in treating Tony. Arriving at Sickbay she made a beeline straight for Rutherford’s Office knowing Pix would most likely be resting there.

“Knock, Knock” she kept her voice low knowing Pix would probably be resting.

Milton was sitting in his chair, waiting the rest of the broken glass feeling in the pit of his stomach to subside. "Sky, I see you are luckily no worst for the wear." He complemented. "Wish I could have avoided some of that as well."

“I’m sorry about disappearing on all of you earlier” Sky offered an apologetic smile. “It was just... Pix, what I was sensing from her was... painful to say the least. I can only imagine what it must have been like for you.”

"Come and have a seat." Milton offered. "I would stand but Diane suggested while walking with me here that I take it easy." He offred the seat across from him. "I have initial scans but I am having a full battery of Toxicology panels run. We have Tony sedated only to allow for better rest and to calm the fact her mind is in turmoil and the body follows that lead."

On a lounge in the bookshelf behind Milton's head, closest spot to where he sat in the chair Pix lay; the subtle pulse of her glow matching her sleepy breathing. A small blanket draped over her and while her expression was on with troubled sleep she seemed rather calm, or at least able to rest.

"Pix is going to be better in a bit." Milton assured. "But I do not expect her to wake for a long bit, she took a beating there." Milton confirmed. "It hurt her both emotionally and rather bit physically. I am keeping an eye on both."

Sky nodded. “For someone so small, Pix is so powerful. I can only imagine how her pain must have felt for you, what I felt from Pix outside in the corridor was bad enough, that’s why I put some distance between us. With your bond, it must have been terrible!”

Let's just say when my Betazoid blood kicks in I am in for a ride." Milton joked. "There is something wrong with Tony, I am having her in a coma like state, in stasis we cannot test her as we need to find out the problem." Milton explained. "Heightened enzyme activity, her biochemsitry of the brain is all off the chart and her heart is working harder than it should and out of pace."

“It’s not anything I did is it?” Sky looked at Rutherford contentedly. “I gave her a strong sedative when I visited Tony in her quarters. “Is it possible there’s something in the sedative that has caused this?”

"I do not have any doubt this was deliberate and your following your training and gut reaction are not liable here." He sat back in his chair. "It has to do with the imbalance of her brain biochemistry and the electrical impulse increase in her brain activity." He explain. " Her brain is working at 50% higher firing rate than in her past exams." He concluded. "It has the appearances of a nervous breakdown and is pumping anxiety enzymes and such to her heart and that makes her whole body react... badly."

He looked at Sky.

"Keeping an eye on her medically is my job, but I feel this is more along your lines." Milton sat back. "The mind controls the body so if she is stressed the body will react. I can calm it a bit with medicines and some herbal trick. However; it is her mind that is running the spiral and that is your department Sky. I can support you but her problems are not majorly physical, that is all reactionary."

Sky nodded. “I’ll do what I can to help Tony, if she’ll let me. She wasn’t very happy that I sedated her before. We’ll see what happens.”
