Mission:
Traitor amongst us?
Location: tony's quarters
IC
Tony sat on the couch her legs trembling with fatigue. She had just tried to work out a little to get her stamina back. But only five minutes later she had to sit down to get her stamina back and that frustrated her no end.
Sky was due an appointment with Tony, to her own annoyance she was running slightly behind schedule. Arriving at Tony’s quarters she pressed the chime.
"Come!" Tony had forgotten about her session.
“Hey it’s just me, sorry I’m late” Sky smiled as she entered, pausing as she looked at Tony. “Are you alright? You look upset.”
"Sorry, I forgot you were coming. I was trying to work out to get my stamina back. It lasted five bloody minutes and I am wiped. My legs are trembling."
Sky nodded as she walked over to the replicator and brought back an energy drink for Tony. “Here you go, you have to remember that you’ve been through a lot. Your body isn’t ready for that yet.”
"Five minutes, Sky. It was not like I was running a marathon!" She took the drink. "Thanks."
“I know” Sky grinned as she sat down. “It’s frustrating, I get it, but don’t push yourself unless of course you want to wind up back in Sickbay?”
"No, I want back on limited duty." Tony said. "I want to find out what is happening. Dad said he is not allowed to make any calls to earth. We have no idea what is going on, Sky. It is hard."
Sky nodded. “I know it is Tony. I’m not sure if I would Fair any better in trying to get news for you. I don’t have the required high clearance to get past security. If there was another way I’d try.”
"It's so bad not knowing, Sky. I think I would rather hear the worst than this not knwing if they are alive or not."
Sky nodded. “Maybe I can circumvent security...” she paused to consider the options. “We Counsellor’s and Psychologists tend to stick together, we advise each other and help each other when it’s needed, as you well know.”
"I don't want you to get into trouble because of me." Tony hesitated. She wanted this so badly but it could cost Sky dearly.
Sky paused. “I could try clearing it with Xavier, but I don’t for a second think I’d get away with it!”
"Then don't. I don't want to endanger your career. You have done enough for me." Tony said firmly.
“You’re my friend Tony, I feel bad that I’m letting you down!” Sky sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. She wasn’t sleeping well thanks to the recurrence of nightmares from her time in Soran’s mind. “There must be a way!”
"Are you resting enough?" Tony leaned forward.
“Resting yes, sleeping... not entirely” Sky shook her head. “Bad dreams.”
"Still. Is the meditation not working any longer. Do you still get regular massages?"
Sky shook her head. “I haven’t really had much time for massage, and with everything that’s happened Soran and I haven’t been able to get another meditation session in.”
"Maybe it is time that we looked after you and Ren instead of me." Tony said firmly. "I can do a massage now and then we are going to make time for meditation and you working less. Denise can help Kay if needed."
Sky shook her head. “It’s not me that needs looking after Tony, this is supposed to be your session not about me! Plus I’m already working reduced hours, if I reduce much more I won’t be working at all.”
"How do you feel about that?"
“How do I feel?” Sky sighed. “I’d go totally stir crazy sitting at home doing nothing! I’d rather be working, if it’s only for a few hours a day.”
Tony smiled. "Yeah I get that. It sucks doesn't it when someone else decided you can't work. That being said they are not always wrong. You are probably the least objective person to decide if you can work right now. I do want you to get this under control first. Massages daily and meditation with Ren. And talk to Kay."
Sky nodded. “Yes ma’am” she smiled warmly. “Now can we get back to you?”
"Are you really up for it? And be honest?" It had felt good to be back in control of a situation.
“I’m up for it” Sky nodded. “It’s my job to help you, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
"Ok. If you can get me some news about my family that would help. At least there won't be any what if's in my mind. And I will know who to grieve for."
Sky nodded. “I’ll see what I can do. There must be a way to get you some news.”
"Thanks. But don't endanger your career. We will find another way forward. But I know it frustrated mum and dad as well. Dad especially is not used to feeling this powerless and he is not much of a talker. He tries to be strong for everyone else."
Sky nodded.“That’s parents for you, they try and stay strong no matter what. There are times they need reminding that you are now an adult, and they can take a rest.”
Tony snorted. "Good luck with that."
Sky grinned. “Parents are parents, stubborn to say the least. It doesn’t make it easy for us Counsellor’s.”
"Nope. It sure doesn't. My parents are polar opposites. My dad is usually calm introverted and not a talker while my mum is a total extravert and very volatile. And yet they make their marriage work."
“Then that’s a good sign that opposites actually do attract.” Sky grinned.
"Yes it is. There is hope for us all. But I do worry about dad. Thankfully one of the few people he does talk to is Denise."
“Good, then that’s a start.” Sky smiled warmly. “Denise can be a big help.”
"Yes, she is talking to Nick every day. It is a relief for me to have her on board." Tony admitted. "At least with her here I don't have to worry about my parents so much."
“I’m glad to have Denise here to help out as well.” Sky smiled warmly.
Tony nodded. "That leaves me. And I still find it hard to grieve."
“It takes time Tony” Sky offered a warm smile. “You can’t rush grief, it happens when it happens.”
"Yeah." Tony said softly.
“Don’t be put off, it’ll happen just don’t rush or force it” Sky offered a comforting smile.
"I'll try."
Sky nodded. “I know you will, and just remember I’m here for you all the way.”
