A little time together

Mission:
Lantea
Location: Ready Room
Timeline: After landing party returns
With the landing party finally back aboard ship Sky was waiting in Xavier's office for his return. She wasn't sure if Tony would be mentioning what happened on the bridge, but it would be in her log. She wanted to explain herself before Xavier had to read about it. As the ready room door opened she smiled as she got up to greet him.
"Welcome back!" she smiled warmly, waiting for the door to close before giving him a kiss. "It feels like you've been gone forever."
Kissing her back, "Feels like forever... I heard that you were dealing with issues up here as well."
Sky nodded. "We certainly did, but before you get around to reading those reports" she motioned to the pile on his desk. "I have a confession to make." she took a seat back on the small sofa that rested against the wall. "I don't know if it even worked, but I tried contacting you telepathically while you were on the surface. I was trying to relay our situation up here, but I ended up exhausting myself. Tony wasn't pleased because I did it without waiting for her say so." she gave him a guilty look. "So whatever punishment you decide between you, I'll accept with no arguments."
"That would explain the... uneasiness I felt... it felt like something... or something was trying to come through... but wasn't able to come through."
Sky offered a nod. "It was a long shot, both from the distance and the fact that you're not a telepath. But on the other hand, at least you felt something." she offered a smile, "That means we have a good connection."
"Was there ever a doubt." He replied. "Besides everything that has happened, how are the mother and the kids."
"The mother..." Sky gave Xavier a wry smile. "Is fine now, thank you." she rested her hand on the large round bump she had for her small frame. "The twins are just fine too. We all missed you while you were away."That
"Good to hear." He replied as he walked over and sat down, gesturing for her to join him. "This was not what I had expected. It makes me wonder what other planets feel lost, and abandoned by the federation."
Sky walked over with him and sat down as well. "They really feel abandoned? Would the Federation truly do that? maybe they just slipped under the radar so-to-speak. They're not forgotten or abandoned anymore, we know they're here now."
"Whether they did or not, there were better ways, rather than causing a catastrophy." Xavier replied as he adjusted himself. "Now we got the federation liaison, as well as other higher ups from the planet inside our brig, and once the repairs are complete... we head for earth for their trial."
Sky nodded. "Good, I hope the colonists will get all the help and assistance, and contact with the Federation that they want. That's if they want further contact after what's happened."
"It was deliberate, I am sure there will be an investigation as to why these and potentially other worlds, have been... neglected by the federation even though they are members."
“Deliberate?” Sky shook her head. “What is happening to the Federation Imzadi? As kids we look up to the Federation and what it stands for, but I don’t like what I’m hearing right now.”
"I cannot condone, but I do understand." Xavier replied. "No systems are perfect the federation is included. We just have to be more aware on whats happening."
Sky nodded. “Of course, we just have to keep our eyes and ears open.” She offered a warm smile. “I’m just glad you’re back onboard, after what happened up here I couldn’t wait to have everyone back onboard with us.”
"I heard. We will be back to earth within the next few days. So nothin to worry about."
Sky nodded. “Does that mean Shoreleave?” She smiled before a ghosted look crossed her face. “Although I’d rather Shoreleave with you, not on my own. Not after last time...” she recalled her kidnapping and the events with Soran, it sent a chill down her spine.
"I wouldn't think shoreleave, but we do have downtime on our way to Earth. We are also getting a new assignment."
Sky nodded. “Am I allowed to ask what the new assignment is?” She gave Xavier a curious look.
"I haven't got the slightest myself."
“The great mystery until we hear more then!” Sky grinned. “To be honest Tony has suggested that I should be on maternity leave. I have reduced my hours down by half, I thought I’d take leave as of the start of my 8th month. I’ll obviously remain onboard, and I’ll still be spending time on the bridge. I’ll go stir crazy if I have to sit in our quarters all day long, day in and day out.”
"As long as you don't over exert yourself. And follow Doc RJs orders."
Sky nodded her head. "I intend to, I'm not risking our babies health." she smiled warmly. "Besides as you said we have some rest time enroute to Earth so I can enjoy that."
"Absolutely." Xavier replied as he placed a hand on her stomach... "How active are they?"
“Feel for yourself” Sky smiled as Xavier’s hand was met with a solid kick. “I feel like I’m a kicking and punching bag for these two! Not surprising given the lack of room going on in here now.”
"Almost as Fiesty as Tal'Vi was."
“They’re fiesty alright!” Sky nodded in agreement. “Anyway I guess I should let you get back to work, I plan on heading home to put my feet up for a while.”
"I may be late got paperwork to complete due to the whole situation."
Sky nodded. "I understand, I'll head on to bed tonight, and you can join me when you get back. Tal will be there to keep me company anyway." She leant closer and gave him a kiss. "I'd get off and let you get on."
"You need your beauty sleep all three of you... I’ll let you sleep."
Sky nodded. “Don’t work too late, you need your sleep too.” With that she headed on her way.
