Mission: Brief Stay
Location: Riley Quarters

On:

The one gruelling thing about being the mother of a under six-month-old was the sheer lack of sleep and yet, the sheer need to be able to capably function on the fly. Larissa had woken up to the wails of Jenny for another feed and ‘bum change’ and RJ was not in sight. She knew he was there when she nodded off in his arms and ever so comfortable.

“Looks like my human pillow went back to his cabin.” She said to herself with a small sigh. She spent the next 45 minutes getting Jenny clean, fed and tucked away again. She flopped back onto the lounge thinking she would just get a quick nap and yet her brain was wide awake. The topic at hand, RJ Milton. Larissa figured the best thing for it was a quick sweat session and then off to bed. Just plain tucker herself out. She went and changed into her light pink toe shoes, leotard with a knotted up over shirt and a pretty pink sheer practice skirt.

She set on an old practice piece to play and yet the piece of music just didn’t feel right. She changed it another three times and still it didn’t feel like the right selection.

“Hmm, I know I have RJ on the brain a bit, but why is that making the music not feel right? Is something missing? Or is it more of a someone?” She pondered that point as she did some stretches and went into some pirouette work before a song by an old earth group called the Corrs came on. ‘Hopelessly Addicted’ talked about looking back on a situation with someone and realizing that maybe you weren’t just infatuated or attracted but head over heels and already addicted to them without realizing it. That ‘I was loving you all the time’. She came down off a pirouette turn and tapped her badge on the table.

She wondered if he was still awake or not. Something in her was keeping her awake without RJ there, like he was a missing piece of the puzzle and she had only just figured it out.

=^= Riley to Milton, I am not sure if you are still ‘up’, but could you possibly come to my quarters? I’m having a hard time getting back to sleep and it might seem funny, but it feels like there is something missing that I can’t quite put my finger on.=^=

Milton was in sweatpants and a tee shirt lying on the bed with his hands behind his head staring at the ceiling; finally in bed with full intention of sleep when the comm activated from Larissa. Reaching over he tapped the Comm Badge.

=^= You know that I am a Doctor that still makes 'House Calls. =^= Milton replied with a smile. =^= I do not think it is a site-to-site urgency so Give me a moment or two and I will be there shortly. =^=

=^= Cheers. The door will be open for ya, so you won’t have to bother with the chime. See you soon. Riley out.=^=

=^= Pix is already hovering at the door.=^= Milton chuckled. =^= Will be there in a minute or two, Milton out. =^=

Riss got back to her spin and step practice. She was I the middle of a pirouette series when she just heard the door open.

"Now what are the sym..." What Milton saw is the furthest from what he ever expected and his whole brain took a pause, his heart stopped, and He fell into a totally leering expression. "ptoms..."

The 'vision' that met his eyes took what breath he had away, the beautifully feminine figure in full dance poise highlighted that she did Not look as most new mothers, she had indeed bounced back in a most healthy way. Leotards are most complementary to the feminine figure as a general rule and Larissa brought that reality home. The long shapely legs on point accented the favored aspect of the feminine Wilds. It was Milton's Father who teased him about being a 'Leg Man' every time Milton took a Fried chicken leg or something similar to a point Milton would eat every other part but the leg as a youth.

The sheer skirt left no mystery with the Dancing Leotard seeming to be a part of her figure, following that figure up slowly he noted the arms extended in an artistic manner and wanted them to wrap around his neck and be closer to Milton. What got him was her face, the expression of Larissa being in her element. During a spin he caught a glimpse of the sparkle of contented fun in her eyes, even in the blur of motion like a snapshot. He was more taken by the woman in this instant and the little dance moves display that showed him truly how attractive she is.

"Lord have mercy..." He whispered, stunned stare and all.

Pix was almost doubled over giggling and waving a hand in front of him.

Larissa finished a spin and came out and into finish position. There was a slight ballerina curtsey before a slight round of giggles seeing Pix waving a hand, like trying to snap him out of a trance.

Pix's trying to snap him out of it and Larissa looking back did manage to bring Milton to the present but maybe not break his focus on the Beautiful Dancer.

"D-don't stop on mah all account Love..." His mouth said before brain and manners filter kicked in. "You all look beautiful in yer element."

"Thank you. It took me a little while to get my balance back after dancing while carrying Jenny. Those eyes tell me that I might be looking like 'did she even have a baby' good?" Riss said with a smile. She did a toe shoe walk over. Placing her hand to his cheek. "It sounded like sleigh bells were trying to snap you out of that look."

"Pix sounds like Christmas jingling when she laughs at me. " Milton pointed out. "She takes delight in my 'near Rogue' Moments. When I am not a total Gentleman in my... reactions to stimuli."

" 'Near rogue' moments? Surely not.." Larissa teased at him. "Are you feeling less than gentlemanly right now?"

"Can we just say that at this moment, in that... attire you are tempting like a finely wrapped gift and Ah am the kid dying to..." He blushed. "Unwrap it."

"It's not like that accent of yours and gentlemanly charm hasn't been weaving a spell on me." She left a beautiful kiss on RJ. "The idea of being unwrapped is very nice." It was her turn to blush deeply. "I just feel very rusty at all this."

"Yer not making the Gentleman easy." He wrapped his arms around her waist just resting hands where the waist and top of hips just before giving her a deeply passion filled kiss and a dip for good measure. "I will not shake the present to see what is inside... promise." He winked.

Larissa giggled a moment before rocking a little at en pointe. Gentlemanly yet flirting and sweet. The kiss and dip had her heart racing. Her breath had picked up a little to keep up with her heart. She felt a light shiver and goosebumps go from head to toe. She returned the kiss, dripping in her own feelings.

"That's a relief." She blushed deeply. "I don't mind if you feel like being not so gentlemanly at the moment." She gazed into his eyes. "I know it may not be as romantic and all. I do have a few candles in my bedroom..." She let her fingers mingle with his and play at the tie to her skirt. All of a sudden, her heart ached for him.

"Candlelight is always more romantic." Milton lifted her into his arms to head to her bedroom where he would 'unwrap his gift.

There was a little squeal as she was scooped up. They went past a sound asleep Jenny on the way to Larissa's sanctuary. The idea that RJ was about to unwrap her like a boy opening a present had her heart racing, it was practically sounding off in anticipation.

The candles had become smaller after the time of intimacy, Milton had Larissa close; as much as is physically possible under the covers lightly using his fingertips to caress her back as he now truly understood what his Grandfather had meant so long ago. Nothing is so soft as a woman loved and happy.

Milton knew Larissa is happy after their sharing; he just watched her, snuggled into him and the look of 'bliss' that he felt in his gut about her. 'Loved' is the part of that statement Milton could not put a finger upon, did she seem happy 'and' loved at this moment; it would also mean Milton would 'Love' her. His head reeled as the two sides of his Researcher weighed the evidence; only the brief encounters both on the planet and now aboard the ship.

Her human Pillow, that is what he felt right now; someone she could rest upon and feel restful and safe, he wanted to give her that as well. A grin on his face as she seemed to be a sleeping angel, they both had no intention of separating. Not just the physical proximity, which gave him a warm feeling as well, but on a more fundamental level. A part of his being fit right now; he can feel a sense of completion like the pieces of a puzzle fitting his life that he just put that piece together.

His gut told him Larissa felt both happy and loved.

Pix flew into the room with a low-grade glow to her usually signalling her being sleepy, but she had this bright look upon her face as she landed behind Larissa's head on the pillow where Milton could see her. hands behind her back she beamed at him. Glancing between Larissa and Milton.

"You are gloating." He said quietly. "You get that way when you are right. So, yes she hit me like ton of bricks, okay?" Pix nodded innocently. "I will not ask; my gut has a heavy hint about her aside from the look on that Angelic face at the moment."

Pix agreed with a nod.

"Mamaw will have kittens when she sees Jennifer you know?" Pix giggled then covered her mouth. "You are rather taken yourself, Little One." Pix shrugged then brought the pouch on a gold cord around her and waited to offer it to him.

"You really think you are..." The raised eyebrow of Pix cut hm off. "Put it on the stand; I will wait til she comes out of her bliss, not going ruin it fer her."

Pix took it from her waist and placed the pouch on the table; yawned and took off to go sleep in Jennifer's pillow.

Riss was curled up in his arms. There was a country song that popped into her head. 'Making Memories of Us' seemed almost perfect in that moment. "Definitely in love..." she murmured in her sleep.

"Head over heels for yew Love." He whispered and kissed the top of what he thought is a contented slumbering, Larissa.

Riss stirred a moment, snuggling in and letting a sigh go. There was a beautiful smile on her face. "Head over heels is good" she cooed back. "This feels perfect." Before slipping back into a blissful sleep

"Now if you remember that when you wake it might be .... better." Milton continued soothing her. "You are becoming a very good habit I do not want to break Rissa."

In the depths of her dreams, Rissa’s mind had gone back to a special moment with a man that was not longer alive.

“Kia Ora, Seashell.” Julian almost whispered in her ear. “You look ever so happy right now. I can see he will make you very happy. Not just that, our little miss will have a dadda that will truly care for her. Don’t ever feel guilty for moving on, babe. This is what you truly deserve, just know that I will be watching over you always.”

It was not long after that Larissa stirred and awoke on her ‘medical grade’ pillow. There was a soft smile on her face and a little shimmer in her eyes. “You too, my Kiwi.” Larissa said quietly. She looked into the eyes of RJ, feeling blissfully happy to be there. “Hi you.” She said sweetly.

"I did not wake you with the desire to caress a little?" Milton asked. "Call it an urge."

“Urges are nice. I certainly feel rested and comfortable. And have a distinct urge not to want to give you up right about now.”

"My gut tends to guide me along; Mamaw told me to trust it." Milton winked. "Most say follow your heart, My gut is a bit different, it has some 'special' unexplained trait. I have relied upon it before, some people said it gives me luck. And I have come to follow its lead."

“Sounds like a very interesting gut.” She said in reply.

“My gut really is attached to you." Milton admitted and he met her eyes. "Very attached to you."

‘That’s a new one. I would have thought it was more of the heart getting attached than the gut. Still, I’m getting rather attached too.

"Let us say that My Heart and gut are ... attached, tends to be that way when yew have Betazoid in yer blood. "He cozied up more. "It is know but not advertised that I am roughly one quarter Betazoid. That might be how Pix and I bonded so well, she is a Telepath that is higher than the Telepathic scales the Federation uses to measure." He chuckled. I do not really touch the scale. But I dew have some measured Empathy on the scale. "

Looking her in those eyes that seem to draw him in.

"I always follow the gut and wright now My gut wants all of yew around all the time."

“I see. That would make life interesting. I have been pretty drawn to you too. Never been quite as drawn in and quite so quickly. So, are you talking desire or the ‘we’re inseparable’ kind of want me around all the time?”

"Not having you around would be most uncomfortable; like taking away a better part of things. “Milton said honestly. "Desire to have you around all the time to find out how deeply I can fall fer yew, neither being alone again type of wanting. Might be what is defined as Love at first sight like knowing when you all finally found someplace with someone yew want to call home.”

“Couldn’t have said it better myself. Ditto there. It’s like you came into my life cast a spell and here we are. I like this kind of magic.” She replied, beaming.

Reaching to the nightstand Milton brought over the small pouch that Pix had dropped earlier.

"Yew mind sittin’ up a bit love, might be a bit easier.” He admitted, lying in bed is not the best place for what he had in mind.

Larissa sat up, shifting more over to the left side of the bed and seemed to wrap her legs around and off to one side, almost akin to a tail. The was a bit of a curious look on her face.

With Larissa giving him a strange look he sat up himself and opened the pouch a bit, winking. "My Mamaw made sure to give me this saying I might be needing it out in my travels."

The ring was Artisan built; the white gold band plain until reaching the two sides of the setting that held A Single Diamond of several carats genuinely cut for the most brilliance.

"Larissa if you like the idea of being the whole grow old and enjoy life together; would you consider getting Hitch... I mean married?"

Larissa was genuinely taken aback and blushed quite deeply. *I’m being proposed to, and we haven’t even been together for a month?! Betazoids must really know what they want. He’s leaving Julain for dead on how long he’s taking to propose and such!* She had to internalise the giggle at that thought. *It does feel ever so perfect, and like I don’t really have to think about it at all.* She smiled, a little more so.

“Oh, Ar-Jay!” She positively beamed. “Yes” She looked at him, half mesmerised by the moment, knowing what he was asking yet taking in the feelings at that time. She was with someone she loved, and he wanted it to be forever.

Milton instinctively reached for her left hand; maybe able to cut 90% of the shaking of his excitement down as he gently slipped the finger through the ring; then realizing it was given to him with no real woman in mind... yet it slipped on as though fitted.

Looking up in joy and surprise, whether over her acceptance or the fact the ring fit he projected a confidence like he had expected it to be just like this. He also fought the urge to just embrace/pin her down to kiss her until they were both... something akin to being kissed stupid.

The kiss was sublime; she was amazed that the ring fit, almost as though it had been made for her. She beamed at him before looking at the beautiful new ring on her finger. She looked back up into his eyes. “Practically a perfect fit, that is nuts.”

As she looked up from the ring; in that instant the heavens seemed to open up as a bright light encircled them from above....

Pix hovered above them; her hands clasped in front of her; the happy Jingling and glitter in the light shone so bright one might have trouble seeing the hovering Figure doing a Jig and spinning with excited delight.

Figured it out? Milton teased her.

“Well, somebody is tickled pink. Maybe more than I am.” Larissa giggled for a moment.

It did not phase him for more than an instant before he followed through with a pinning embrace that left him in position to really give Larissa the depth of a passionate kiss she deserved for accepting him; no one else mattered, Just her and their now impending future.

The embrace was all that she wanted in that moment and the kiss just sealed it, she replied in kind. “Looks like we have some plans to make. We’re thrilled about this, and Pix is as well. Seems just about perfect and I couldn’t be happier.” There was a thought that seemed to dawn on her. “Oh boy, does this mean planning two weddings or something…or at least two receptions? Oof…that could get tricky…with that kind of complicated and after a guy that wanted the perfect timing and place….may as well just elope and do a yes, we got hitched party and be done with it on our terms.”

Milton had a thought hitting that added to her point of Double Weddings with half a world between each set. A 'hitched party' did seem to better fit the joint leave time

"Just got engaged and all ready you have a grasp on what iz best fer us." He complemented." As he nuzzled closer." Do that mean I get you right away then?"

"Toe shoes and all, Sweet Mage." She beamed, feeling on top of the world.

"Well we best git the Little One in a pretty dress." He winked. "Yew dew realize Las Vegas is the wedding Capitol of Earth and they be open all hours to find Elvis ready to Marry two people, intoxication or level of Crazy Impulse not withstanding." He smiled in a sly way. "A gentleman does not Make Love to a Bride until the wedding NIght. Might want wake the Girls, Jennifer may need a babysitter or two?"

"Married by 'the King', who can turn that down?!" Larissa giggled. "Rosa makes the most sense, she does work in sickbay after all. Now, to go find a nice dress for me and Jenny as well as top her off. To thinkI woke up Miss Riley and eill go to sleep as Mrs Milton."

"It does have a fine ring to it, Larissa Milton." He chuckled as he made his own way to get dressed. "I do hope that Jennifer might come to like it as well?" He mused. "I did not think My Colonel Sanders suit would ever be used outside the Plantation."

He leant over to give her a last kiss.

"Pix and I do need to get ready and change that luck of not seeing the Bride's dress before the ceremony." He chuckled. "With Miss Rosa and Pix we have the two witnesses present."

"I'm sure it will all be perfect, Elvis and all." She returned the kiss. "We will see you soon enough."
