Heading back down

Posted on Mon Apr 26th, 2021 @ 10:35pm by Lieutenant Talsi Carey & Commander Marisa Sandoval & Lieutenant Commander Diane Doctrine & Lieutenant Sky Jansen-Carey

Mission: The Mentarin Effect
Location: Shuttle Bay
Timeline: Current

Talshi walked back into the shuttle bay, annoyed she was, but apparently it was for good reason, the ship had received a new First Officer as well as Chief Intelligence Officer. She had no idea what was going on. Being this the only other ship being served on, other than the Wellington. But it was not her to complain about it. Walking over to the shuttle door, she picked up her case, and took out her custom made body armor, as standard issue wasn't made for her height.

"Lieutenant Greyson I presume?" a small, blonde woman in red uniform and standard issue tactical armor was looking into the shuttle. She was holding a PADD and carrying a black messenger bag draped over her shoulder. A standard issue phaser was holstered on her left hip. "I'm Lieutenant Commander Doctrine. I'm assigned on this away mission."

Looking down. "Lt Commander? Chief Intel I presume. Talsi Carey Assistant Security Chief." She paused as she sat down on the floor once again. "The chief is at tactical if you need to speak with him."

"Yes," Diane offered a smile. "And I've only been aboard literally, a few hours. Still trying to get to know everyone."

Two minutes later, Marisa Sandoval joined them. She'd stopped by her quarters to briefly grab the cross-pack she kept ready for away missions and secure a phaser and tac vest. "Hello, ladies," she said to the two women.

Looking at the other new woman, "New First Officer I take it." Talsi replied, "Lt Talsi Greyson. Assistant Chief Security."

"I am. A pleasure to meet you," Marisa said. "I hope you'll be able to fill me in on anything not in the official report."

"Anything you want to know. It was commander Johnson that was on the original team, but he briefed me on it."

Walking into the shuttle bay Sky headed across to the shuttle, as much as she hated having to carry a phaser she was kitted up and ready to go. “I hope I’m not late.” She smiled politely as she greeted those already present.

Marisa, still being in the back, turned. "No more than I am. Hello. I'm Marisa Sandoval."

Sky smiled warmly. “Nice to meet you Commander. I’m Sky Jansen, Chief Counsellor.”

"And you as well, Counselor." The doorway was now clear and she indicated that the other woman precede her. "After you."

“Thank you” Sky smiled warmly and stepped inside the shuttle.

Marisa followed. She glanced around, noting where everyone was. She wasn't quite sure where she should sit, so she hung back. It also gave her a moment to get a feel for the group assembled.

Diane offered a friendly nod to the newcomers, “Hello again,” she said to Marisa, and “I’m the new intelligence officer, Lieutenant Commader Docrtrine at your service,” she said to Sky.

Sky smiled warmly. “It’s nice to meet you Commander” she looked around to see where to sit.

Marisa turned to Talsi. "Who else are we waiting for?"

Doors opened, and in came four more officers, and two more enlisted.

"I figure go with more than just three security." Talsi replied smiling as she watched them suit up and pick their weapon.

"I hope we're not late," Petty Officer Jones announced as he bounded into the shuttle.

"We're still here, so you're not late," Marisa replied with a smile.

Rick put his fists at shoulder height and proclaimed in his usual optimistic manner, "Woohoo." Then took his seat near the rear of the shuttle.

Woo hoo? Marisa thought as she watched the Petty Officer. At least he was gung ho.

Sky couldn’t help but smile at the enthusiasm shown by the Petty Officer. He was definitely enthusiastic.

Rick looked around the shuttle and realized he was was being stared at. He mentally chastised himself and tried to calm down. It had been a while since he'd been off the ship and was looking forward to being planetside for bit even if it was for work. 'Gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool, gotta keep cool,' he reminded himself. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly and smiled at the others on his away team.

Diane couldn't help smiling herself. It was good that some of the crew still had high morale despite what happened to their ship's captain.

"It looks like we're all set," Marisa said, taking note of everyone and mentally ticking off the list the Captain gave them. "Shall we?" She took her seat and prepared for launch.
