Knowing he was being kept busy with the mission Sky had requested to speak with Xavier, letting herself straight into Xavier’s ready room to wait for him. She was pacing the floor when the door opened.
Xavier noticed the pacing, and knew it was something she did not do. Standing, he walked over, "Whats the matter Sky?"
Sky sighed as she stopped pacing and motioned to the sofa. She sat and looked at the man she loved. “You know I was in Sickbay a few nights ago for observation, the reason being was there was an incident with Lieutenant Wagnor and myself. I couldn’t sleep so I took a walk, I sensed someone in pain and fear so I followed it.” She paused. “I tried to wake him, but instead I was pulled into his nightmare!”
Sky stood up and started pacing again. “I can’t explain what I feel Imzadi, it’s almost like pent-up emotion that needs to explode, but it won’t, or can’t!”
Pausing, "I was here all night trying to figure out a starting point for this search. I thought you were in bed." He sat beside her. "What do you mean pent up emotion?"
Sky took a deep breath, and stopped pacing again. “Soran’s nightmares are...debilitating, he’s had years of counselling and now I...” She paused. “I saw it, I experienced it, I want to be able to scream and get it out of my system but I can’t!!” She walked to Xavier burying her head in his chest, as much as she wanted to cry she hadn’t reached the point of being able to.
Xavier wrapped his arms around her, "Come with me, I have something just for this."
Sky looked up at Xavier simply offering him a nod.
Xavier took her hand, and made his way out, "I have a holodeck just for this, you can scream, all you want, pound some people, and just overall just let it all go. Its my go to therapy."
“Just don’t tell Rutherford” Sky offered a slight smile. “I’m supposed to be relaxing not knocking the ten bells out of something!”
Nodding, "For me, it is relaxing, sitting down doing nothing is anything but."
Sky nodded. “Xavier I saw...” She paused the images filling her mind. “So much pain and destruction!! Children used as soldiers!”
"Unfortunately, I am not surprised, centuries ago, Earth used the same thing." He replied as they entered the turbolift. "Holodeck one."
“I had to spend last night in Sickbay because my blood pressure was elevated, and Rutherford wanted to keep me observation. I would normally complain, but I have our baby to think of.”
"I would have made it an order if I had to." Xavier stated as the lift came to a stop. "Your health, alone is enough to warrant observation but with one on the way its important as well."
Sky nodded. “I know, we’ve already had one disaster with losing Tal’s child, I’m not willing to risk this baby.” She offered a small smile.
"That was not your fault, we knew that it was probably not going to keep As she puts it, 1/10th of pregnancies with other races end."
“I know but it’s how I feel.” Sky sighed. “Now I have all these memories of a battle I wasn’t in! The sounds...sights...” She took a deep breath.
Pausing, perhaps this wasn't going to help after all. But he thought she could get some...built up emotion out a bit. Walking into the holodeck.
"Computer progam carey alpha-nine-four-two--- level 0."
Sky looked at Xavier curiously. “What kind of program is this?”
"Its how I release my built up emotions, usually Tal and I... spar in our quarters, which turn... into something other physical. But sometimes this is what is needed."
Sky offered a smile. “Well that...other physical is always good for de-stressing. So, are you wanting me to spar with you?”
"Sparring no, I tend to get a little more physical than necessary, with the pregnancy i won't take that chance." Xavier replied. "The program is my hand to hand combat scenarios, I start level 9.... Tal level 14... level zero, they won't fight back. You just fight. They won't fight back. Scream, punch kick bite, do whatever to try and release the built up emotion. If it works great... if it doesn't... then we will look another route."
Sky gave Xavier an uncertain look. “I’m not that kind of person Xavier, I don’t go sparring because I don’t have those tendencies. I normally just go for a walk in the Arboretum, or chill out some other way. I’ve got no reason to want a fight.”
"Sometimes it helps. Walking for some is not a way of destressing. Sometimes, physicality is necessary."
Sky nodded. “Well they’d better start the fight, or it’s going to be a very short trip to the holodeck.”
"Level zero they do not fight back, they are literally punching dummies."
Sky sighed. “I don’t feel like punching anything Imzadi, I’m a mild mannered Counsellor remember?” She grinned.
"Even counsellor troi knew how to fight sky, come on just take a few swings."
Sky sighed and nodded. “Okay if I have to! Set it up.”
Seeing how she clearly didn't want to, "Computer, Carey alpha nine."
The scenery changed to that of a sandy beach over looking a sunset, waves hitting the coast, the birds screaching in the back ground.
“Wow” Sky looked around. “I wasn’t expecting this.”
"Since you did not want to try what I do, I figured lets do it your way."
“Seriously?” Sky looked at Xavier with a smile. “So you want to come sunbathing, and skinny dipping with me?”
"Computer, change time of day to 1pm. Sunbathing time, and lock doors."
Sky grinned as she pointed to a nice section of beach. “Computer...a large towel on the ground suitable for two and an umbrella for shade.” She waited for it to materialise before walking over to it, and undressing.
"Computer lock door."
Grinning Sky walked over to the towels, playfully removing her clothing down to her skimpy underwear. She was still relatively early in her pregnancy, so he stomach showed no signs of a forming bump as yet. “Coming to join me? You need relaxation as well you know!”
Xavier relented, and stripped as well, taking her hand, he led her to the water.
Sky grinned as they entered the water, pausing to playfully splash Xavier, and remove her bra which she tossed back to the beach before going in further. “Come on in, the water’s lovely!”
"With that... who can possibly say no." He grinned as he followed.
Sky giggled and swam a little further out in the crystal blue waters, she liked to swim and the holodeck was the perfect environment.
Xavier just let himself lean back and floated on the surface.
“So don’t you agree this is more relaxing than fighting?” Sky grinned.
"Fighting is not anything about relaxing, it's about expelling the built up anger, energy and what not. It helps me."
Sky nodded. “That’s true, but right now I’m not feeling that anger. I’m not sure whether letting myself feel those negative emotions would be best for our baby. Although keeping them pent up isn’t good either!”
"That is true, just find a way, relaxing if fine but it doesnt always address it."
Sky nodded. “Let’s dry off, and then you can show me your program.”
"Maybe another time sky, I am enjoying this."
Sky grinned. “In that case I’ll see you on the beach!” She swam to the beach, before removing her bra and hanging it up to dry before lying down in just her briefs under the parasol.
Getting back to the beach himself, he laid on the blanket beside her.
Cuddling up Sky smiled as she lay her head on Xavier’s shoulder. “This is nice, just having time to relax without interruptions for this, that, and the other. We should ask Tal to join us next time, she might like this.”
"Might take a bit more convincing."
“Well if not then it gives me more time with you” Sky smiled warmly before leaning in for a kiss. “Any more thoughts on our wedding plans?”
Kissing her, "unsure atm... I was waiting on you."
“Really?” Sky grinned. “I’m happy with anything, I don’t suppose we have a holodeck program of Tal’s homeworld do we? What I saw when we all made love together was beautiful. Plus it would be nice for Tal.”
"I know it would be, however, we had our wedding, now its about you..."
"Captain, sorry to disturb you, we are being approached by another shuttle, apparently we are getting a few new officers, including a new chief helms officer."
Xavier closed his eyes. "I shall be right there." He turned to Sky, "You stay and enjoy yourself, I have got duty to attend to."
“Okay” Sky nodded. “We’ll talk about it later tonight with Talsi.”
Smiling, "Will probably have to wait a bit longer than that unfortunately, Commander Doctrine thinks your telepathy would be essential for her mission to the colonists."
“An away mission? You’re sending me on an away mission?” She gave Xavier a surprised look. “I thought you’d have me roped to the ship in my condition. Not that I’m complaining.”
"Not knowing what we will meet, its safer."
Sky nodded. “Safer, right of course” She offered a smile.
Giving her one last kiss, he left the holodeck. After getting dressed of course.
