Tasin woke up to searing pain which made him gasp. For him this was a big thing as it was the klingon way not to show any sign of pain.

Sky was passing as she picked up on a sudden spike of pain from Tasin’s direction. Making her way across to him she offered a concerned look. “Are you alright?”

He tried to move to see who it was but to his great panic he could not. "What the hell..." He struggled harder but with the same result.

“Take it easy” Sky moved to stand where she could be seen better. “You’re safe, you’re aboard the USS Resolution.”

"I can't move." He said through clenched teeth. "Nick?"

“Nick is here” Sky offered an understanding smile. “Just relax, I can feel you’re in pain so I’ll find a Doctor to help you then we can talk.”

'You a shrink?" He said through clenched teeth. "Talk to Nicky first, he is in a bad way."

Sky nodded. “Yes, and I know. He has friends and family here, don’t worry we’ll take care of him. Right now it’s you that’s important.”

"I will live, I am a tough bastard." he said biting away the pain. "Nicky isn't. He is brave but not tough."

“You’d be surprised how tough he can be when he wants” Sky offered a wry smile. “He’s in good hands, right now I want to make sure you’re okay.”

"i can't move." He said again. "That is just a little worrying."

Sky nodded. “Okay, well there’s only one way to find out what’s going on.” She turned to look seeing Rutherford on his rounds. “Rutherford!” She motioned Rutherford across. “Your patient wants to know why he can’t move.”

Kiara looked to Rutherford, who had a few more patients to check on yet. “It’s okay Doctor, I’ll go.”

Heading over to Sky and Tasin she offered a polite smile. “To put it plainly your injuries are severe. When you were captured, your spinal cord was practically sliced through.” She paused to allow it to sink in. “As things currently stand you are paralysed, but...and I do say but...we’re hopeful that treatment may be available.”

Tasin exhaled. "Bloody hell."

Kiara offered a gentle smile. “Good news is your spine isn’t completely severed, there’s a small section that isn’t. We need to get you back for specialist treatment, for now you need to keep as still as possible. Doctor Rutherford doesn’t want to use the biobed restraints, but that all depends on whether you can follow doctor’s orders.”

"Have you met my family? Nah probably not." Tasin said with a sigh. "I think he needs to go with the restraints at night. I have nightmares sometimes and I can't control myself when I sleep. I am fine in the daytime. But I would appreciate some nice drugs for the pain."

"How would you like me to restrain you?" Milton came to the Bedside. The straps and such that really do not serve well and can cause more injury like those that did this to you?" He moved closer. "I was thinking something more aggressive in a manner of speaking, a simple medical force field like a blanket that will hold you by covering the entire lower part of your body and allow you to be more comfortable.

He made eye contact.

"I am Doc Milton, or you can just call me 'Doc' for he most part," He introduced himself. "Now this damage you have is severe yet since the Spinal cord has some connection there might be a way to reconnect and with some fine surgery techniques in the past couple of centries can give you a better chance for a major recovery. So long as we do not allow more injuries." He gave a genuine grin.

Glancing at the display while he spoke to get an idea of what assurance he can confidantly give?

"A micro Demal regenitive surgery might be able to stimulate connecions to a degree but while you rest the biobed is taking in-depth scans and a better picture of the injury. " He winked. "Don’t give into the pain just yet. I will have Kiara administer some silene-trechohydrate solution to help with the pain, a soft sedative that can allow you to relax and be more coherent at the same time."

Kiara nodded at Rutherford’s instruction and went to get the silene-trechohydrate hypo from the cupboard, as with all drugs the hypos were kept safely locked away. Returning a few moments later she offered a smile. “Pain relief going in now.”

Sky smiled as she looked at Rutherford. “Thank you Rutherford, your bedside manner is wonderful to watch. I’ll be in and out checking on our patients.”

"I only use truth, keeps me honest." Milton check the scans. "I admit I would like to see more connections yet the fact you have a twenty percent strong connection and maybe half that in strained or nicked, does give us something to work with." He nod to the patient. "SImple explanay=tion but not going to be an easy road I do warn. Pain come as a sign the body registers damage and also that there is healing in the process."

"How long are we talking about doctor? And how much of a chance." Tasin asked. "Also I don't know how to tell my parents. My father has not been well lately."

"Let me say that the Medical scans are going to record for about a day, to get as much of a scan into what damage and exactly the connections you have." Milton said calmly. "After that I will know a better diagnosis and give you the facts." He nod and made eye contact. "You have connections so there will be recoverable motor skills and your brain is sharp and that is an amazing thing, the brain, it can bypass like damage on a ship and create new pathways to do the job. It will be a month at least after 'Any' medical procedures before you get a real handle on recovery. But THre is good nreves to work with I am keeping you immobile so no more strain or damage until we have good picture."

“Don’t worry about your parents Tasin” Sky smiled warmly, “I’ll contact them and let them know you’re safe.”

"Ok thank you. Better call my mum. She will be in the register under her maiden name, Denise Parri." He felt a lot better now that the painkillers had kicked in. "Tell her I will be ok as long as I am surrounded by such lovely ladies."

Sky grinned. “Oh I’ll be sure to tell her. We lovely ladies will continue to take good care of you.”

"Oh good, that will make my day." He grinned."You will find that studies have shown that patients heal better with lovely women around them. I'll even talk about my feelings if you want."

Sky smiled. “Now that would be wonderful. I’ll warn you though this lovely woman is already spoken for.” She grinned.

"That is such a shame. Although I would have been surprised if you weren't." He then made doe eyes at Kiara. "You must be taken as well then."

Kiara smiled. “Not yet I’m not, but I’m your nurse.”

"Aw. But I can try right? It would give me a goal to live for."

Kiara grinned now. “Well who am I to stop you achieving your goals.” She gave Sky a wink, she was happy to play along if it helped their patient.

"Good. It will be your task to keep me entertained as I can't move a muscle right now." Joking about it kept him from despairing about his situation.

Kiara smiled. “I’m afraid I won’t be able to give you complete attention, I do have other duties. There A.E. plenty of other pretty nurses to keep you amused though.” She grinned.

"Promise? And you won't get jealous?"

Kiara laughed. “Oh I promise! I’m just looking forward to seeing a handsome smile when I arrive for shift.”

"You are on." Hell he needed this if he was going to survive the coming weeks of boredom and fear.

Sky grinned. “Plus you’ll get visits from me too, plenty to keep you happy.”

"Well if you promise to talk about nice things and don't try to shrink me that's fine."

“I’m afraid we will have to talk, but I'll go easy on you I promise” Sky smiled warmly.

"I think you have to focus on Nick for now. He needs your help a hell of a lot more."

“Don’t worry he’ll get the help he needs, that’s a promise” Sky smiled warmly.

"Thank you." He was suddenly very serious.

Sky nodded. “There’s no need to thank me, that’s what I’m here for.”

"Yeah. Nicky is like my own little brothers, you know. It is hard to see him in such a bad way."

“Maybe you can help in his recovery, you’ve both been through the same experience. It would help him to talk to someone whose been through it.” Sky offered a hopeful look.

"You would have to bring him here." Tasin said.

“I’ll see what I can do” Sky smiled warmly. “For now get some rest.”

"Yes ma'am."

“He’s all yours Rutherford.” Sky smiled warmly.

Milton was just closing his observations in the PADD,

"Now that you have scoped out a good portion of my Medical staff, I am sure you are more inclined to know if you will have the potential of following through your innuendoes?" Milton winked. "Should I make that a major part of my research or is it all Bravado?"

"Oh hell doc, I really want to be able to follow through with my innuendoes." Tasin said subdued.

Milton chuckled and adjusted the system a bit.

"I can say that with the connections I see so far, your cognitive and creative functions are in tact, now I need only repair your motor functions to be ble to chase my Nurses and all right?" He look the man in the eye. "To be serious you are at 30% repairable in inital scans, which is high considering most spinal injuries are work of not entirely. Medical science is making steps and improvements, I will get you function back and promise to do my best, but the entirety of it is you and your body's ability to adapt and heal." He emphasized. "Mind, body and Soul need to work together through difficulties. Pain and some discomfort ahead but I will get you medically through it all, promise."

"I will work with you every step of the way to get back feeling down below." He actually blushed now. "Uhm I think that has priority even over walking." For the first time he looked embarrassed at all the women present. "I will do anything you say, all of you."
