worried about Tony

Mission:
Traitor amongst us?
Location: sickbay
After she made sure Tony was fast asleep Kay took a few moments to compose herself. She had never seen her friend in this condition before and it was scary. Usually Tony was the strong one. Kay had leaned a lot on her friend a lot in the past and to see her so lost was disturbing.
When she felt stable again she went in search of her boss as Kay knew something had to be done.
Sky was sitting in the arboretum trying to centre herself in the oasis of calm amongst the trees. She had promised Rutherford that she would rest, and not work long hours, but right now she was anything but rested.
Finally Kay managed to track her down but when she saw Sky there meditating she felt guilty. "Ma'am? Can I bother you or had you rather I ask my mum to help?"
Sky offered a smile as she looked towards Kayleigh. “You can talk to me by all means Kayleigh, please come and sit down. I find the arboretum an oasis of calm hence why I’m here.”
"I don't think I can be calm right now, ma'am." Kay said as she sat down. "I just saw Tony together with Kiara. Something is wrong, ma'am. That is not the Tony I grew up with. People do not change like that."
Sky gave Kay a concerned look. “I know Tony isn’t having the easiest of times right now, but you saying she’s changed that much does concern me. I’ll admit her lack of confidence in herself is disturbing, she’s not the same friend I know either.” She sighed.
"If Tony does not feel confident she will not show it and she does now. She does not get depressed, she always sees the good in any situation. And she never doesn't know what to do. I tell you there is more wrong then you and the doctor seem to think. And she will always thinks of other people's feelings before her own."
“I agree” Sky nodded. “There’s something more going on, but what? I’m not just going to sit around and watch my friend have a total breakdown, Tony is tougher than that. You know her better than me Kayleigh, what can we do?”
"Get her back in to medical and dig deeper. You know they are targeting her whole family. Reshtarcs have been known to go very very low to get what they want. Years ago when I was very young one even allowed himself to be poisoned and died in the hope my father would be accused of the murder. I don't want to lose Tony, ma'am."
“Neither do I Kay” Sky nodded. “If we’re going to get Tony back to Medical I’ll need your help. She’s not going to go willingly, maybe she’ll listen to you.”
"Right now she is heavily sedated. It might not be a bad idea to move her now." Kay said a little hesitant. "And for both of us to be there when she wakes up."
Sky paused for a moment remembering last time she had a disagreement with Tony. “Alright, if you think it’s serious enough to warrant that then we’ll do it.”
"I think it is, ma'am." Kay said seriously. "She'll kill us but we can't lose her."
Sky nodded. “Agreed, I’m not losing my best friend. Not now, not ever!”
"Good." Kay said. "Let's do this."
Sky nodded. “I suggest we head to Sickbay, we can talk to Rutherford and have Tony transported in at the same time.”
"Yes we need to convince him as well." Kay agreed. "You know him a lot better so I will let you do most of the talking." Also she was slighlty nervous around doctors herself.
Sky nodded. “Okay, then let’s get going.”
~ Sickbay, a few minutes later ~
Walking into Sickbay Sky made her way over to Rutherford’s Office, they would need to talk in private. She smiled as she saw Pix. “Hello Pix! We need to speak with Rutherford, it’s about Tony.”
Pix was at the door as she felt her BF heading in her direction; it is what Sky might call a 'Telepath thing' to the laymen. She heard what Sky said and spun in the air to make a direct path towards the Small office in Sickbay where Milton had a stack of Migrating PADDs all holding some information he needed to know; the one in his hand seemed to be the most perplexing as Sky entered.
"Oh hello Sky." Milton stood as gentlemen do for the entrance of a lady. "what brings you to my neck of the woods?"
Kay tensed slightly, doctors always did that to her. "Sir I made her come, sir. I am worried about Tony. I think something serious is wrong and I want you to examine her again." She stood in a marine parade rest stance.
“You didn’t make me come at all” Sky offered a smile. “We’re both worried about Tony, she just isn’t Tony.”
"I have witnessed one or two things that would cause me to wonder that myself." Milton gesture to the two chairs across from his desk. "Please sit, I think I can say that Tony is Not herself; even in a medical sense of the word."
Kay exhaled, she was so glad the doctor seemed to believe her. "I am so worried. This is not just grief, I am afraid for her, doctor. Please help her."
"To start; I was present and in Sick Bay after her fainting incident; Wile she was in the Sick Bay I did some scanning for analysis, according to the computer she is well within her normal operation extremes, nothing largely out of the ordinary." He started."But after analyzing some of the data I do have a few questions?" He sat in his chair. "So take a seat and let's talk shop."
Kay sat down. "What did you find, doc?"
“My thoughts exactly” Sky took a seat and looked at Rutherford. “Have the tests shown something unexpected?”
"Sorry I am late..." Xavier replied as he walked into the sickbay. Looking at those present. He nodded and slowly made his way to the corner.
Sky smiled as she looked towards Xavier, they were both on duty so personal feelings were put aside for professionalism. Regardless any chance to be near Xavier was something that made Sky’s day, especially if it had been a hard day.
"Well, to put it simply, there is a bit of an increase in her Synapse along her brain activity; the bioelectrical impulses and energy flow of her brain is showing slight spiking over the average for Her." Milton explained. "Think of it as her brain sending off more impulse signals than her normal. Not quite ot of parameters for alarm, yet, the signals seem to be increasing." He looked about the people present. "Her brain is thinking too fast for normal processing levels."
Pix landed and was slightly pacing of to one side.
"These impulses are not only flash thoughts but commands to her body, her heart rate was increased for a bit then dropped and seems to be having a pattern for random irregularity. This not not a problem in her records, irregular Heartbeat." He continued. "While this could be a symptom of her moodiness or feelings of anxiety, the fact is that the brain activity and her body receiving the signals is reacting accordingly. The mind controls everything, problems there tend to have a trickle effect."
"Is this caused by stress?" Kay asked. "Or some disease?" She had a medical degree as well as a psychiatrist but she had never heard of something like this.
Sky gave Rutherford a curious look. “As much as the mind can affect the body, I’ve never heard of something having this drastic an effect before. Is there a possible reason outside of all the stress she’s been under?”
"That does concern me as I have ordered a full toxicology screen." Milton said. "This will take some time as it is not in Tony's normal range so there is major concern but I need some tangible evidence to work on an outside cause. The symptoms are individually explainable by stress, faster heart rate or more brain activity due to stress. But together is what would be called inconsistent and highly improbable as natural yet her scans are not showing anything obvious." Milton added. "This will take time to get results and once I get the data I will have a better time of it. I know it is not normal Tony behavior both consciously nor physically. I am hoping the Toxicology report might turn up enzymes or something that are out of sync or at least a flag point to check further?"
"We have left her sedated in her quarters. I would feel better if you brought her in, doc." Kay said.
Sky nodded in agreement. “I think Tony would react better to being brought in by you Rutherford, if it’s us she’ll think we’re trying to section her.”
"I could use a field kit to collect the samples needed and let her rest somewhere comfortable." Milton thought a loud. "Of course Pix will not let me see her without checking herself, she is a very good gauge for people she is close to so that could help." He realized he was speaking to them all. "Well, I think that about covers it." Pix looked up at him and tilt her head to the side and looked up in a certain expression. " Of course Sky you will allow Pix to stay with Tony, I am afraid you have little choice but we thought we should at least get permission rather than a scolding."
Sky smiled as she looked towards Pix. “I’m certainly not going to refuse you Pix, I’ve felt the wonders you work when helping someone. I think you’d work wonders with Tony, but I don’t want you hurting yourself okay?”
Pix would have given her a wave of the hand and smile to ease Sky's fears but after what happened she knew her best pal would not take her as being casual, they both knew Pix will do what she can to help someone in pain; especially her BFF Tony. Thinking a second she took a breath to ease herself and Raised her right hand like making a promise and nod her head.
Sky nodded. “Thank you Pix, I don’t want you being hurt. You’re more sensitive than the rest of us.”
"Now that is settled, if you do not mind, I would like to call this meeting ajourned and get over to my Patient and those needed sample to the lab for analysis?"
“By all means Rutherford, Thank you” Sky smiled warmly.
