Sky had lay staring at the ceiling in a more or less catatonic state ever since her return to the ship. That had changed during gamma shift as she’d suddenly scrambled off her bed and sat in the darkest, quietest corner of her room she could find.

After having been kept in complete solitary, in sensory deprivation conditions, the change of having so much input was proving hard to take. That, and she still wasn’t sure if she was truly back onboard ship, or whether this was all in her mind. She sat huddled up on the floor rocking back and forth to soothe herself.

Tony had a look at her file before going into Sky's room. From the evidence on the state of both of them and what they had been able to piece together, their treatment had been very harsh. It made her blood boil but for Sky's sake she had to be calm and collected now.

"I think we should not go in together." She said softly to Xavier. "Remember this is what I did for years, treating victims who went through severe trauma." He should as she had done it with him. "We want to keep the stimuli she gets as low as possible for now."

"I need to see her Commander." He replied. "I wish I could have been there to help her sooner."

"Of course." Tony said."You should go first. But be careful, she is very vulnerable right now."

Inside the room Sky was huddled in a corner, she’d purposely pulled a chair closer to feel more protected. Something in her mind still made her disbelieve she was home aboard ship, disbelieve that she was safe. No, she wouldn’t believe it until she’d seen Xavier, that she’d felt his loving embrace and touched his mind again.

He walked over, and gently sat next to her in the corner. He didn't want to swarm her, letting her come to him, was probably the least reactive approach.

Sky’s eyes fell on Xavier, for a moment she didn’t move, then suddenly she moved right up to him. Cuddling him she lay her head on Xavier’s chest, closing her eyes she listened to his heartbeat and let her reduced senses reach out for the touch of his mind. “It’s you...it’s really you!”

"I am here, and I will always be for you." Xavier replied as he wrapped his arms around her.

Sky remained there feeling safely cocooned in Xavier’s embrace, as long as he was there she knew no harm would come to her. “I want to go home...back to our quarters with you and Tal.”

"I know... we need to make sure you are alright." Xavier replied as he looked over at the door. "There is someone else wanting to see you, Tony. Tal being Tal... she wanted to make sure the quarters was ready for you."

Tony had stayed in the background. "I think we should beam you over." She said softly. "To keep your stimulation levels low." She was not completely happy with this but she knew that being with loved ones could heal even better than she could.

Sky nodded as she offered Tony a nod and a smile. “Thank you Tony.”

"You are welcome. And you will be seeing a lot of me." She smiled gently at her friend. "If you will excuse me I will go and arrange the transfer."

Transporting into their quarters with Xavier, Sky wasn’t surprised to find Tony waiting with Talsi. She let go of Xavier’s arm and moved across to Talsi hugging her tightly.

Tal embraced her, bringing her up to her level. "This is something that should never happen." She replied as she held her tightly. "I don't understand... why someone would do this."

Sky nodded, Tal was expressing exactly how she felt. “I’m just glad to be home!”

Placing her down, "What has the doc said about you, and the babies?"

“I’m off duty until such time as I pass Medical and Counselling review.” Sky sighed. “The twins are fine, no worse for what’s happened fortunately.”

Tal looked to Xavier. Then to the Commander. "I don't understand. Help me understand why this happened."

Sky looked at Talsi. “It happened because I was unlucky enough to be the one who got into Soran’s head, they thought I’d know things that they wanted to know.”

"What about in general. I have been reading, there is examples of that everywhere."

Sky moved to sit down on the sofa. “They thought I’d have secrets, things only Soran knows. The woman who...got inside my head, she searched my memories, I still don’t know what she actually wanted.”

"Until you are ready, I don't want you to think about it." Xavier replied as he looked to Tal. "Right now she needs to worry about herself and the kids."

Sky breathed a sigh of relief right now she wanted to forget and get settled back in with Xavier and Tal. “I am pretty tired, I’d like to try getting some sleep, just please leave a light on for me?”

Xavier nodded, and looked to Tony and Tal. "If there is anything you need, we are all here for you."

Tony nodded. "The inhibitor will help guard against over stimulation and we will start therapy as soon as you feel up to it. In the meantime you can call me day and night."

Sky nodded. “I know, I promise I’ll call if I need you. Thank you Tony.”

"I will leave you now." Tony said. She knew that either Sky or Xavier would get in touch if she was needed.

“Tony... wait” Sky got up from her seat, walked over to Tony and gave her a gentle hug.

Tony hugged her back. "We'll pull you through." She said softly.

Sky nodded and stepped back before she headed for bed, she was a dab hand at getting up into the canopy treehouse she, Xavier and Tal shared.
