==Sickbay==

Annie sat in the post-op area at Mitha's bedside, she was reading a book the Orion Doctor had given her to pass the time. Mitha's eyes shot open and she would have sat up if the bioscanner hadn't been in the way.

"Aantititiclicli!" the woman cried out.

Annie made a clicking sound and nudged her friend back to laying in the bed. She squeezed Mitha's hand and the two Rothin women spoke in their native language for a few moments. Mitha then looked to see the medical staff coming to check on her, she switched to Federation standard.

"I'm alright, your doctors are good." Mitha smiled, few humanoid species had the vocal ability to speak Rothin and many found the language disturbing their first time hearing it.

"We're Starfleet," Loveask chimed.

Loveask looked at Doctor Mitford with a I have no idea look in her eyes, and continued to buzz around Sickbay. She and Okoniss still had the end of the bay ready for the Angosian and Betazoid that Doc Hesh had briefed her about. She had painstakingly run diagnostics on the incubators to make sure they were up to standard and ready to go under any contingency. That all the straps were unbreakable. No mistakes.

"I'm heading down!" Tale waved from the hallway. Okoniss felt a heavy melancholy in the air. But, perhaps it was just the fact that so many of the crew hadn't eaten in a while. Andorian's aren't the best at keeping up with their telepathy. Keeping his distance so the patient could prattle incessantly with their friend, Okoniss scanned. "Doctor Mitford all signs appear to be normal for this species."

Annie got up and exited sickbay, Mitha motioned to Okoniss. "I'm a physician with years of experience with Angosian soldiers, my friend is getting my medical journals. I will need a hover chair if I assist."

"With all due respect madam, you need to rest a bit longer before we even consider it," Okoniss said in best bedside manner. He generally differed all patients to Lovie, he pretended to not be annoyed with interacting with others. He was, after all, a research nurse that had the bedside manner of an empty water glass. He continued in his nasally voice. "I honestly think that we're over preparing -- but that's better than under preparing. Doctor Gilohesh gave us a debrief about Angosians as well before she left. You really should rest."

"What my charming colleague is saying, we'll ask you when the time comes, but not before then," Loveask bounced back in the room. She knew that Doctors hated to take time to heal, but they needed to do it. "Your wounds are still healing and we have Doctor Mitford and Doc Hesh will be back soon. They'll both refer to your counsel when necessary."

The Roth woman shifted her weight and made a clicking noise as a sharp pain went through her midsection, "I like your colleague's candor, save the bedside manner there's no time for it. I'm not ready to move, please put the Angosian in the bed next to mine. If it is who I think it is, you'll need all the help you get."

She rolled her eyes, she only had a few interactions with Kip's war buddies and she only knew of one he'd go to this much trouble for... 'What have those idiot's done this time?' She thought.

"It is," Loveask pointed to the industrial straps with a wink. "Don't worry. If he's coming in hot, we've got our bases covered by orders by Doc Hesh."

"He'll need a familiar face otherwise he'll hurt himself on those straps." Mitha nodded. "Please trust me on that, I've seen these fools dislocate their own joints trying to get free. I can help if you let me."

"Like I said, we'll differ to you," Loveask repeated.

"Captain," Vam'wa turned around in her seat, "We're within fifty thousand meters of the target asteroid. We've scanned some lifeforms in the asteroid but something in the makeup of the rock is interfering with getting more detailed readings."

Daneel nodded, "Can we safely transport in and out?"

"I believe so, Sir," the Klingon woman answered.

Etan looked up from the Ops board with a solemn nod. ”Transporter Room 2 reads five-by-five accounting for the boosters, sir. We’ll be able to bring back anyone we send. Room 1 is depolarizing the main coil and will be online in five minutes. I have an open space that I think is a shuttlebay or other kind of flight deck.”

Daneel swung around to face Diane, "You ready?"

Diane nodded, "Been ready."

"Take your team in, get our people out," Daneel made it sound like an order but he knew how she felt about her crewmates so a tinge of sympathy was there for those that knew the Eldritch's captain well. "Try and not kill everyone. I'd like someone to question about this fiasco."

Diane shrugged before heading to the turbo-lift, "I'll try."

Daneel tapped his commbadge and rattled off the names of eight of his security officers, "Meet Commander Doctrine in transporter room two."

==Transporter Room 2==

Diane strode in eagerly with her gear, a hand phaser on each hip, and some other surprises she kept in her away mission uniform. She looked at the assembled marines from Resolution and security people from Eldritch.

"All right," she started, "Some of you may know, or not know, we're here to retrieve Lieutenant Sky Carey and Lieutenant Soran Wagnor. Wagnor is a former Angosian special forces. If he's escaped capture count on booby traps being set. Be watchful for those and be careful. Also, Captain Olivaw would like someone to question when this is over. He's asked we don't kill everyone. We're beaming into what looks like a shuttle bay. From there we'll split up and search."

"The medical team is on standby in the sickbay," Tale threw in for good measure. "Should we be expecting anything out of the ordinary? Or is this fairly straight forward?"

One corner of Diane's mouth twitched up once she saw her friends were going, "It should be straight forward, but that only means we should expect the unexpected. Aside from any traps set by Commander Wagnor, there's probably also some there from the asteroid's occupants." She added in a serious tone not just meant for her friend as she looked around the room, "Be. Cautious."

Tale gave Diane a smile, tapping her multitool. "Always am!"

Kip and Fran stepped into the room in black fatigues; the Angosians carried Federation phaser rifles. Kip nodded to the rest of the team, "There's a decent chance Soran and I aren't the only Sentenails involved in this mess. So if you shoot them on stun and they don't go down, keep firing until they do. Your regs do apply to me. I will try to do things your way out of respect. Things start going south. I'll do what I need to do to bring as many of you back alive."

Fran rolled his eyes, "Easy Chief, they're professionals."

Alisa and the handful of marines walked into the transporter room prepared for battle. The security personnel from the Resolution had been extra briefed on the Angosian tactics that they might have. She nodded to the one that said to bring them home. "My goal is to bring as many home as safe as possible. I will be redirecting our tactics as required if it comes down to it." She did after all had orders to bring as many of their people home as they needed to, while the Intelligence aspect made sure that they had everything that they needed with people still left alive for questioning.

Kay would follow the major's orders and bring her friends home. She tried to ignore Kip a much as possible. But she did remember that it had taken her a while to warm to Ren as well when she first met him. She nodded that she was ready to go.

"All right, let's go," Diane announced stepping up to the transporter pad.

Everyone else followed her and when the group was ready Diane ordered the transporter operator, "Engergize."

Everything seemed to be going smoothly, but there was something sitting in the back of Etan’s mind as he saw the sensor data and the information coming back from the transporter systems. No question that they would get in safe, but one thing still nagged him. The fact that they couldn’t exactly pinpoint the location of their crew bothered him no end. Still, there was one tool up his sleeve that might be able to get the team going in a better map, and maybe give them a path to Sky & Soran. He looked up toward Vam’Wa, the Captain, and the Science officer. “Do we have planetary probes aboard, sir? I think we could fire one at one of the weak spots in the rock and give the insertion team better pathing to our people, as well as a better assessment of the overall combat theater. Obviously we wouldn’t want to fire until the team have been safely transported, but I think it will help.”

Aalis was there to help as she might be able to break through whatever is going on with Soran if he's had a good friendly face to look at. Also, because he was her chief, she wasn't going to let him go down alone for this. "I recommend doing it. Anything that we can give our people will help. We can beam my team over last to see what we can find with an updated map," the security officer offered.

“We have every kind of probe you can think of,” Vam’wa answered with a hint of glee in her voice.

Captain Olivaw considered the suggestion and gave an affirmative, “Make is so. If there’s an advantage we’re takin’ it.”

Etan nodded, looking between Vam'wa and the Captain, then at Aalis. "Aye-aye. Queuing Type 3 Planetary Probe now, slug-tipped rather than warhead. Tactical, fire torpedo tube two on Ops mark, follow target resolution from Nav panel." He waited a moment, watching as the indicator for the torpedo loaders showed that the requested probe was there. He looked back to the person at the Tactical board. "Mark."

"Fire," Daneel simply ordered.

The probe launched and followed it's programmed course.

==On The Asteroid==

The group from the Eldritch materialized in the shuttle bay of the mining facility. When the transporter sequence was complete Diane gave the hand signals to search and secure the bay before they went further... and to be careful of traps.

The bay was poorly light with emergency lights only, either it was an unused section or the station occupants had already fled. Because the large chamber was mostly empty. The lift at one end of the room looked like the doors had been forced open and there was an awful stench in the stale air.

Kip took in the scene quickly and knew what he was smelling. "Fuck! That's the odor of burned flesh and fried electronics. Scan any electrical panel and don't touch anything, don't trust your tactical gloves there's enough juice in this place to fry a rhinoceros. Somebody's been busy."

Kay nodded. "Will do." She had no trouble following his lead now.

Diane’s nose wrinkled uneasily. It was a most unfortunate aroma that she recognized. She looked to Kip, “All right, you and your crew are familiar with the tactics Wagnor is using. I know them a little, but not nearly as well as you. Perhaps we split into two teams so we can hopefully find him and Sky sooner… some of your crew should be on each team.” She looked at him expecting some expert advice.

"It looks like feigned retreat tactic," Tale murmured. Inspecting the sprung traps. She shook her head. Everyone looking at her with a side eye. "He probably has these all over the damned place... What? Diane, you know who my dad is."

"It's true," Diane conceded.

Kip gave Tale an approving nod, then turned to Nash and Fran. The three Angosians spoke in their own language for a moment before Kip turned back to Diane.

"Nash and Fran will go with you," Kip stated. "I'll Take Gilohesh and two of your marines." He turned to Alisa, "You can tag along too if you like."

Tale gave Kepek a thumbs up. "Alright, let's go," she felt anxiety tremor through her and was continually checking in with herself - it hadn't been fear of being on an away team, or even premonitions of the captured. It was something else entirely. Looming ahead. She looked back at Kay and Diane. "Let's move fast and safely everyone."

Alisa nodded to Kay and to Kip as they both fell in step behind the man. While there had been some unruly tension on the ship, that had now slipped away as everyone was now lock step with the mission at hand. She looked at her handheld reading through the mess that was around. While the aroma was unseemly, it wasn't foreign to Alisa. The Betazed opened her mind probing the general area to see who they might find before they find them.

Kip looked over at the women, "Perhaps London should stay with Commander Doctrine. Each team should keep a medic."

He spoke in a professional tone, "Whoever reaches the captives first will need to be able to provide medical attention."

Diane nodded an affirmative, "Makes good sense."

Nodding to Kay, Alisa directed her to Doctrine's team as that made sense. "Rowe, with me," she called through the Comms.

"Ma'am," the British accented Marine stepped forward instep with her.

Alisa looked over to Kip, and rested her arm on her phaser rifle. "Ready."

Diane, phaser in one hand, tricorder in the other, "All right let's move out." She started cautiously down one corridor. (presumably, whoever is going with her is following)

Kay followed the commander as it did make sense to her to use both her skills as a medic and a marine on this mission.

Slowly going down the corridor Diane scanned with her tricorder making sure no traps were in their way. Being an older mining facility, she double checked any innocent debris that was laying around. Angosian Sentinels were a tricky lot with those sorts of things. "Wish we could make quicker progress," she muttered to herself more than anyone else.

"Agreed ma'am." Kay said. "But we have to be careful. Rushing is not going to help anyone." Although she wanted to run herself and find her friends.

This was where the two teams split up. Those that were with the commander, and those that were with the Angosians. Alisa, Rowe and Marteen were the marines along with the Angosians. The commander had Kay, Smith and Soothy. All in all, Alisa was pleased how things were going so far. The main security team remained aboard the ship for now, one to relay intelligence from the ship's sensors and the probe, and two to bring up the rear after the two groups cleared a good way through the Asteroid.
