Meanwhile onboard...

Mission: Lantea
Location: Various
Timeline: Following a small disaster

— Sickbay —

The queue in Sickbay was slowly starting to ebb away, but it was still busy. Luckily most of the wounded had been minor injuries although one burns patient was currently in a serious condition. She needed Rutherford back, with the power problems onboard the EMH was temporary at best, if she could even get it up and running.

— Bridge —

On the bridge the ship’s predicament was slowly becoming clearer.

Tony needed all her composure not to ask for updates every five minutes. She waited for her people to tell her how they were doing and in the mean while trying to show them that she had confidence in them to do their jobs and to coordinate all the efforts to get the ship back up and running.

Looking towards Tony, Sky offered a reassuring smile. “This crew know their jobs Commander, I know it’s hard.”

Tony cursed under her breath. The last thing she wanted to draw attention to was that she was nervous. So she smiled confidently at her friend. "I have every confidence in the abilities of the crew."

Sky nodded. “I know you do, but that doesn’t stop you worrying.” She smiled a wry smile.

"You know me to well." Tony admitted.

Keith walked in and walked over to the pit near the operations console that he normally took during Gamma shift unless people were off on an away mission and then he flitted to wherever he needed to be. "So, we're still trying to work out what happened. We do have internal comms and sensors now working correctly," he commented as he took his chair to get an updated status report from his console with connections and reports from Engineering.

"But we still can't reach sickbay." Tony said as she stood behind them while making her rounds across the bridge. "Any ideas why?"

Talia ran a diagnostic on her console... when she said diagnostic, it was very rudimentary "The controls we do have, doesn't list a reason. We do not have the scanners to do a full scan of the computers."

"Can we defend ourselves if this is something hostile?" Tony asked.

"That would be a negative Commander." Tal replied

Sky sighed. “We need to let those on the surface know something is wrong up here, maybe I can try focusing on the Captain? He might pick up on a something from me if I try hard enough, but there’s no guarantees.”

"That is actually a good idea." She had to admit. "But only if the strain on you and the babies is not too much. We can't have you endanger yourself."

Sky nodded. “It’s not like we have much choice right now, but you might want to hold onto this..” Sky tossed over a stimulant from the medical kit. “Just in case..” she relaxed before closing her eyes and focusing on Xavier. The distance was incredible, hence why she was hoping their bond would allow Xavier to sense that something was wrong back aboard ship.

With Sickbay in the hands on the junior medical staff & nurses Kiara headed for the bridge, She it took a few minutes but she arrived just in time to see Sky take a turn for the worse as she collapsed in her seat. “Commander!” She motioned to Sky. “I need help here! I need to lie Sky down.”

Tony cursed out loud now but switched to Dutch as she did not really want others to pick up her mutterings about insubordinate officers. Sky had started before she could forbid it as too dangerous.

“Did She have a fall? Any injuries? Hit her head?” Kiara looked at Tony for answers.

"No she tried to contact the captain on the surface." She said as she helped Kiara lay Sky down. " I ordered her not to endanger herself."

Kiara nodded as she ran a scan. “I’m not finding anything immediately concerning, babies are both fine.” She tapped the tricorder. “I see signs of a temporary repair on a broken arm, I take it that happened earlier. In that case...” she ran a head scan. “There you go, I’m registering a concussion. It must have been minor not to have shown up until now, trying to contact the surface from this distance has exacerbated it.” Kiara paused. “I would take Sky to Sickbay, but it’s pretty hectic down there right now and getting there is another thing. I suggest moving her to the Ready Room, I can keep an eye on her in there while I’m checking everyone over out here.”

Tony rubbed her temples feeling a headache coming on. "Let's do that. But are you sure you are not needed in sickbay? In fact we have a few more injured people here. If we move them all to the ready room you can keep an eye on them."

Kiara nodded. “That would be a good idea Commander.” She smiled warmly. “Sickbay is in the best hands I could find, there’s a couple of junior medics and the nurses for now. They’ll call if they need me.”

With the wounded out of the way Tony could fully concentrate on getting the ship running again. "Ok folks, I am no engineer but if you need me to do any task that speed things up don't hesitate to use me."

"I thought I had comms to Sickbay when I came back," Keith admitted. "I'll head back to the relay a couple decks down and will continue to work on it." He stood up from his seat at the console and handed a PADD to the Commander. "This is the latest that I had, and what I can tell immediately needs to be done to restore the tactical station control, and Bridge control. The Battle Bridge is staffed and ready to assist as required. The comms situation seems to saucer section mostly. Drive is working on it, as they aren't able to contact anyone in the saucer section either. There's something causing the interference. I'll be back in about fifteen."

"Good work, lieutenant." Tony said scanning the information. She felt like they were slowly but surely getting on top of the situation.

— Ready Room —

In the Ready Room Kiara was checking over the wounded when Sky awoke. “Take it easy Sky, you hit the deck with something of a bump.” She offered a smile. “How are you feeling?”

“I’ll let you know when the guy in my head stops hammering!” Sky smiled. “Seriously though I have a bit of a headache.”

“The Commander isn’t amused you didn’t wait for orders.” Kiara ran a scan before pressing a hypo to Sky’s neck. “That’s just a mild analgesic, it won’t harm the twins. Get some rest and we’ll see how you are in a few minutes.”

A few minutes later Sky was chomping at the bit to get back out on the bridge. If Tony chose to punish her then she’d accept it gracefully, though her intentions had been good.

“You can’t wait to get back out there can you Lieutenant?” Kiara offered a wry smile. “Okay, but you’re to sit and observe, no more telepathy until you’re fully healed! Anything happens to you Doctor Rutherford will have my hide!”

Sky nodded. “Understood, and thank you Kiara.” With that she headed back out onto the bridge.

“Reporting for duty Commander” Sky offered Tony a smile. “Before you say it, I’m sorry I went a step too far I’ll accept whatever punishment you see fit.”

"We will discuss that later, lieutenant." Tony said with an impassive face. "Right now I want you to sit down somewhere and take it easy."

“Just what I was planning to do Commander” Sky offered a smile and headed for her seat.

Tony nodded and waited for further updates on the state of the ship.

Keith walked out of the observation lounge doors. "I was able to communicate with sickbay at the relay a couple of decks down. I tried when I got up here, and it didn't work again. I set up an additional relay station between here and there. You should have comms to sickbay and the drive section to Main Engineering is still in work. However, we do have comms to saucer engineering, which has at least ship status reports from Main Engineering."

"Very good work." Tony said. "Please get me the status reports from engineering and their thoughts on what caused this and how to fix it asap."
She turned to Sky. "If you can liaise with sickbay." That was something she could do sitting down.

Sky nodded. "Yes Commander." Tapping the comms she was glad to finally be able to get hold of Sickbay. Relaying about the casualties Kiara was looking after in the Ready Room. "Sickbay says they'll have someone up here to help Kiara transfer the wounded as soon as they can Commander."

"Thank you lieutenant. Good work." Tony said. She began to feel like they were slowly getting control back over the ship.
